No facts were there in the speech. And I suggest they pull up the video and watch him talk for 15 minutes.

Maybe this is the best Rambling Joe can do.
I did watch it. I disagree, both with your assessment and the need to use childish insults.

Here is that video so when you quote me from the thread please quote the whole passage and do not take my quote out of context. It is only fair to me.
I apologize if you think that unfair. I never see the need to quote someone’s whole post though, as it is still there and easily reached. The point was that speculation of causation of someone’s remarks involves either guessing using one’s own prejudice, or mind reading.

Trump rambles at times but at least he does make points in between.
So you think the choice is between Trump who we know rambles most of the time (and looks pathetic when he reads to avoid rambling) and Biden, who might ramble?

I think the chance of getting someone more coherent than Trump is worth taking.

Joe Biden rambled all day yesterday at the Delaware stop. He only spoke 15 minutes and he was all over the place.

He had a news conference today on masks and reads from the paper.

Four(4) minutes that is all and he can’t do it from memory. He reads from papers all the time. This man wants to be President.

Watch the video and tell me this is normal. It is not.

Writing things down is a very good way to speak precisely on the topic. 4 minutes meant it was to the point. I find that, if I go free form, I tend to take a lot longer to make my points, which isn’t useful if you are in a soundbite nation with your audience’s attention span being low.
Who has to write things down for a four minute speech. That again is ridiculous. Four(4) minutes. 👨‍🦯 :biking_man:

No, not really, especially if you are splitting some points with your VP. Keeps it focused. You might be surprised to know this, but TV shows are often scripted, too.
Focus to say you must wear masks. Ridiculous. He could have memorized every word verbatim of the 4 minute speech. as most people can. Yet he reads from a paper. This is denial.

So, that’s what you expected Biden to memorize. It’s over 3200 characters because I had to edit down the end of one paragraph to fit it. That 650 words or so. You could memorize that? I doubt it.
Yes most of it, I think most people could or at least 2/3 . It is a four minute speech and he has to read from it, looks down, doesn’t look at audience.

Ridiculous.

Ok, prove it. Memorize it and record yourself speaking it for us. Post it to Youtube.
I don’t have to prove anything… That is not a difficult speech and most if not the whole thing could easily being memorized or at least the majority of it but he does neither and just reads with head bowed. Four(4) minutes…

Ah huh. Because I know I couldn’t memorize 650 words in a short period of time and I really doubt you could either. Based on your response, you know I’m right or you would take the challenge
You should be able to memorise a full 500 word essay in about 3 hours, for your first time, using the above method. When you are practiced you should be able to memorise a 500 word essay in about 60 – 90 minutes.
According to memory expects, it does not take long to memorize an essay so this idea it can’t be done is again ridiculous.

Jor Biden is running for President. Again look at his speech.

Ok, so you think that Biden should have spent 4 hours (because it was a 650 word speech) memorizing it when he could just read it and save the time? Really. And I’m not buying it can be done in four hours, so why don’t you prove it to me?
The experts say that is what it takes. He has been doing speeches his whole life. Joe Biden has lots of people on his staff to go over this speech again and again until he memorizes most of the key parts. He read from a paper with head bowed. Not buying this is normal.

Go ahead… and many people will be praying for the other side! We’ll see whose prayers God will answer!

That doesn’t mean it was an expert at all. And, again, why is this a good use of his time when he can read it just as easily and doesn’t require 4 hours of practice?
He has spent his life doing speeches, why stop now. He has staff to write the speeches and to help him rehearse them, yet he has his head bowed reading from a paper. Nah.

And you still don’t answer the question. Why is spending 4 hours memorizing a speech a good use of his time?
For some people it would be four hours but the article states that for others who are used to doing such things, it would be much less.

He has been creating and doing speeches his whole life so he has learned the craft and should take a great deal less time. Again he bowed his head and read from paper on a four minute speech.

It’s a QUORA answer, not an article and we have no idea of its validity. You won’t do it and that tells me all I need to know.
It is not about me. I am not running for president. It is doable and expects tells us that it is doable in a very short time if you are good at your craft. Joe has done this his whole life. Actors do it their whole life and many of them are still acting in their seventies.

Something is wrong because Joe bows his heads and reads from paper. There is no spontaneity.
Creating the speech and delivering the speech are two different things. Most politicians read speeches (remember Obama and the endless complaints about teleprompters). This isn’t new. But that gets in the way of your continuing narrative that Biden is in decline, so you just keep repeating the same mantra over and over again.
That is why he has lots of staff. We are talking a four(4) minute speech not a half hour or hour speech. I do repeat it over and over because I see it over and over.

He rides a bike and a reporter asks a question on his VP picks and no quick come back, just the word “you”

I so it all the time when making instructional videos. At the very lease, there will be an outline on the camera for glancing at. It better assures that I hit all the points I was aiming for.

This is a well trained politician who has spoken to the public for most of his life. This is not some ameateur.

Here is Joe speaking in 2016 at the Democratic National Convention. Look at him stride out onto the floor and the constant eye contact as he speaks, yes he looks at his paper but only momentarily.

This is not the Joe we see today and most see the change. During the election cycly even Julian Castro asked him if his forgot what he said 2 minutes ago. Compare that Joe Biden to the one given the 4 minute speech today, head bowed reading.
