How can you participate in an act so intimate as the Eucharist while publicly advocating for gravely sinful acts?
How? I will leave that between God and Mr. Biden.

Thankfully you are making a statement and not casting judgment.

I support this Priest’s decision. Fr. did the right thing by not giving him communion. It doesn’t matter what political party the Vice President or anyone else for that matter belongs to. I don’t care if it was a Republican, Libertarian, Constitutional, Green Party or insert any other political party candidate. VP Biden was in the wrong to try and receive. Fr., did the right thing.

I’m sure the media will have a field day with this, but I fully support the priest. How can you participate in an act so intimate as the Eucharist while publicly advocating for gravely sinful acts?
Good. The man continues to openly and actively support abortion. This should have happened the second he voiced his support for such a heinous act, as it should happen to all Catholic public figures who are openly opposed to Church teaching.

I pray that Mr. Biden finds repentance and comes to reject the evil of abortion.

In view of the message below my posting, please would you delete or combine with any others on this top.c. Thank you.

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
2271 Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law:

You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish. 75

God, the Lord of life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes. 76
It’s very clear.

I wish more priests would follow his example. People like Biden need to wake up to the evil they’re supporting, and denying them the Blessed Sacrament is one way of doing that.

Again, supporting the priest (which I agree with) should not include my personal judgment on the soul of Biden or anyone else.

Just as I would support a priest refusing to administer the blessed sacrament to women or men who use contraception, or are party to others using it.

Lines, in this case, might be shorter for communion. (sarcasm)

If more preists did this (not just to Joe, but to all cold catholics or CINOs) than America would be a more honest and holy place.

There was a time when the lines to the confessional were longer than the line to receive the Eucharist. That has flipped .I think a good start would be for our priests to verbally announce before communion that if one is not the n a state of grace then abstain from receiving.
Additionally, considering a vast majority of Caothics don’t actually believe in the real presence is another part of the issue.

Yes, of course, all people in a state of mortal sin should not take Holy Communion, but especially “public sinners” such as Mr. Biden who publicly support positions against his professed faith.

I don’t understand how someone could be a Catholic and be opposed to this. You cannot receive communion if you reject the teachings of the Church. Biden publicly discarded the Church’s teaching for the laude of feminists and abortionists. He supports, and enables, the killing of children; that is not in dispute. The Church opposes the killing of children. The Church requires you to oppose the killing of children in order to receive communion. Mr. Biden cannot receive communion.

I support what this priest did. Hopefully more will follow his example.

That’s odd. I would think Communion lines would always be at least as long as the lines of all the people that went to Reconciliation beforehand.

Edit: We can also hope part of the reason is that people go up to just receive a blessing and not disrupt the flow of traffic.

I sincerely hope that this will cause Vice Pres. Biden to examine his heart and come to repentance. He could be the catalyst for a revolt against the current Democratic Party bosses and their pro-abortion Party Platform. Perhaps the Party Platform will be re-written to allow for pro-life Democrats to actually have a voice in the Party.

But in all likelihood, this will just increase the public and media hatred of the Catholic Church. The current issue of Glamour Magazine has a disgusting article about how the Catholic Church and most Evangelical Protestant churches will not support women in the priesthood or pastorate, and how the churches continue to “deny women control over their own bodies.”
