Vice president Biden inadvertantly tells the truth in campaign speech:

“Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday that the middle class has been “buried” during the past four years, a statement that Republicans immediately seized upon as an unwitting indictment of the Obama administration.”

This is an unprecedented situation in which Biden and Romney agree:

Romney pounced on Biden’s initial comment, saying on Twitter that he agrees with the Democratic vice president: “the middle class has been buried the last 4 years, which is why we need a change in November.”

Joe Biden - the Democrat gift to the Republicans that keeps on giving.

Biden later explained further what he meant.

“The middle class was buried by the policies that Romney and Ryan supported,” Biden said."

“The last time these guys were in charge for eight years, they put two wars on a credit card, they refused to pay a single penny — a single penny — for a new entitlement program for prescription drugs and they added a trillion-dollar tax cut for millionaires and billionaires, all unpaid for,” Biden said.

“These are the facts,” Biden said, calling the Romney-Ryan economic plan “Bush economic policies on steroids.”

By comparison, Biden said, Obama’s plan asks the wealthy to pay only a little bit more in taxes. “The middle class has done enough. They have done their part. Let’s not lay more burden on the middle class,” Biden said.

It’s good to know Romney agrees with what Biden meant. Since his point was we can’t go back to the failed economic policies that got us into the mess in the first place but which are supported by Romney, Ryan and the Republican House.

Nevertheless this election is more likely to be a referendum on Mitt Romney than it is on Joe Biden. People usually base their vote on the top of the ticket. There is a possible exception to that this yr but it has to do not with Biden. But with in many circles an unpopular Paul Ryan budget and Medicare plan.

Nice try though Ishii.

Biden may have later tried to explain his comments but that is not what he said originally

The middle class has still been buried over the last 4 yrs. From the mess inherited. Surely no one being objective would have thought the first 2 yrs of the Obama Administration would have been enough to dig us out of the worst economic mess since the Great Depression. And then along came the do nothing GOP Tea Party House which refused to come to the table and work with Obama. And a Republican minority in the Senate whose leader said the Republican main goal was to hold Obama to one term. And in an effort for that cause when there has been a 60 vote threshhold, they blocked things time and time again. I pray the American people see through this Republican agenda and charade.

Reagon inherited a recession from Carter and turned the economy around to become prosperous in 2 years. Bush inherited a recession. Presidents have inherited recessions and managed to grow the economy. There is suggestion that another recession is going to happen. Obama had 2 years of a majority democrat house and senate got everything he wanted passed. Did the stimulus etc make the economy better? Did you read the full interview from Mitch McDonnell because he may have said what you said he did but then said, ‘I don’t want the president to fail; I want him to change. So, we’ll see. The next move is going to be up to him.’ That quote is never mentioned by democrats

Bill Clinton and George Bush managed to work with the other party and Obama hsn’t been able to much. In a meeting with congressional democrats and republcians he said, ‘I won.’ Hardly a show of willing bipartisanship

The only way old Joe keeps his foot out of his mouth is by first shooting himself in the foot.

You can bet this will be played in TV commercials as an admission of guilt.

For 4 years, it’s been scary to think that we are one bullet or heart attack away from Biden becoming President.

Joe is the gift that keeps giving…I REALLY look forward to the VP debate with Ryan…and it’s true…the middle class income is shrinking…the middle class itself is shrinking…all due to Obama’s policies. Perhaps Obama shouldn’t have waited until now to focus on jobs…oh, wait…he still isn’t focused…on anything except reelection.

This post shows the futility and frustrations of the GOP. The focus has been lost and now everything is thrown against the wall in hopes something will stick. Here, our ire is supposed to be raised on something Biden said that the op thinks many will be outraged about, but based on the op’s tag line (which I totally agree with), the real issue is “vote pro life”.

Unless we stay focused on that message and not wander all over the political landscape trying to appeal to a voter here and a voter there, we will not only lose this election but dilute our cause.

Stay on track Catholic voters and focus on eroding freedom of religion and the sanctity of life instead of being made tools of any political party!

It’s the truth and the middle class knows the cause too. 4 yrs is not a long time, even for the forgetful among us.

Or worse…who is in line after The Vice President…is it Speaker of the House and then Secretary of State? If Pelosi was still speaker of the house shudders

I suspected there was more to it than what we initially heard. Thanks, CMatt.

BUUUUUSSSSHHHH!!!

(It’s all his fault!)

President Obama “inherited” a mess, and made it much, much worse in the long run.

So tell me, Mr. Genius, what type of budget did the President pass when he had a filibuster-proof majority?

What were his acheivements during this time? I’ll tell you: The Affordable Care Act, and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The largest tax increase in history, and the most worthless “stimulus” the world has ever known. We spent 4% of our GDP for a net 1.3% GDP increase.

We spent $787 billion and netted 3.6 million jobs (over a decade, most haven’t been realized yet). Final cost: $218,611 per job.

Surely no one objective can look at the first two years (or even the first four) and state that the President did ANYTHING to improve the overall economy.

Obama FAIL.

It always amases me how a democrat gets a do over, but a republican is guilty no matter what. Make you say huummm…🤷

So Romney/Ryan are proposing two more wars? Where? With whom?

I would also point out that baby-eater Boosh passed the Medicare Prescription Drug Modernization Act, which was $400 billion in new Medicare spending, and oddly enough, was a new entitlement for prescription drugs (as the title suggests).

You and crazy Uncle Joe have misplaced your facts.

I disagree. I was just highlighting Biden’s gaffe - of course he didn’t mean to say that Obama buried the middle class. But it represented an opportunity to focus from a conservative perspective on truly how bad Obama has been for the middle class and the whole country. You’re right - the most important issue is the sanctity of life - abortion. But that doesn’t preclude talking about other issues such as the economy and the ill effects of Obamacare. Obamacare is one of the worst things for the middle class.

Truth be told, he has not worked well with his own party.

Actually, states with republican leadership are thriving in spite of the behemoth know as the federal government. What is happening in Western North Dakota is absolutely amazing. The Bakkan oil fields at night have a view from space that rival Minneapolis and Chicago.

Have you seen the number of people moving there and to places like Utah, Wyoming and Texas?

That’s the place to be!

Even swing-states have nearly 10 TIMES the economic growth of blue ones!

This election will be a referendum on the president and his failed policies. Romney doesn’t have a record because he’s never been president.
But with in many circles an unpopular Paul Ryan budget and Medicare plan.
Mitt Romney has a massive lead among seniors even with biased polling and he is trending upwards.
Nice try though Ishii.
Ishii really hit out of the park!

I think Romney will tonight too.

The question people will be asked:

Are you better off than you were four years ago?
