Jon Stewart's end rally speech drives the point home

Maybe they were a sarcastic response to the originals, after all this was a rally led by a couple of comedians - not passionate grass roots activists…Just a thought.

P.S.: By “originals”, I mean the original Hitlermustache-bearing posters - just in case anyone else thinks I mean the original hair that grew over Hitler’s top lip…
 
As opposed to the people at the Tea Party rallies who carry signs of Obama looking like a primitive African monkey boy with racist overtones that he’s a jungle bunny. They hold up signs of him looking like a fascist, hammer and cicles with his face looking like Lenin or Stalin, and the other racist or hate-mongering stuff. It’s so funny how Republicans get so mad at this stuff and say, “nice people at this rally” when they do it even more in spades at their rallies? Do you guys realize how this sounds? sheeshhhh

One difference…supposedly the Stewart rally was non-partisan…

What’s to make up? I was responding to bbarick’s words, you respond with posters that aren’t mine. Posters which incidentally are likely puns on the original African bush doctor quake-in-your-boots-in-fear-for-our-future ones, since this was after all, a rally led by comedians - as I’ve just pointed out above.

I could go you one better and ask (as in previous responses to posters at certain large gatherings): what proof do you have that these posters were actually at the rally we’re discussing and how could the organizers possibly see, far less object to them in the vast crowds…but that would be too similar to what bbarick was doing, so I’ll refrain.
 
Tonight we were watching the World Series. There was an at-bat where the umpire called a “strike” on Edgar Renteria when they replayed it like four times and showed the pitch was at his ankles! The sportscasters for FOX said, “that was a ball, pure and simple. Definitely.” Edgar Renteria looked at the ump and complained, understandably.

I turned to my wife, angry, and said, “this game seems rigged with all these lousy calls!” My wife didn’t miss a beat. She said, “well did you notice Bush in the audience. If he’s there, it probably is rigged!” LOL! 😛 We both voted twice for the guy but I don’t trust him any more than I’d trust Ozzy Osbourne to house-sit for me while I’m out of the country! 😃
 
Now we’ve gotten to the ‘yours are worse than mine’ part, let me just say: “You tried Jon, you really tried, but it’s not gonna happen - the idea that extremists of all genres will see their myriad reflections in the mirror and actually reflect on what has gone wrong and possibly even laugh at themselves a bit…?” Let’s just say, the joke’s on you.
 
Jon Stewart’s speech boiled down to its essence is essentially Rodney King: “why can’t we all just get along?” Yes, we all work together in our jobs - because we have to. I work with a wide variety of people. True, we get the “job” done because we are paid to do so by our employer. There are liberals, conservatives, moderates, but many are probably apolitical. Jon Stewart’s wishful thinking notwithstanding, there is a powerful, vocal, liberal/left element in our country which has for a long time now sought to transform our society and country from the basic traditional, judeo-christian oriented country that it has been, to a leftist/secular one. This element is most represented in our education system (especially our universities) and in Hollywood, as well as many aspects of our government and unions. There are, imo, greater numbers of people awaking to this dualism and opposing it. I believe our president during the past two years has gone a long way to facilitate this awakening, probably unwittingly. We live in a divided country, and more and more people are waking up and saying, “not so fast”. We will see how many have awakened on Nov. 2nd.

We’ve butchered 50 million babies in this country alone via abortion. That’s 8 times worse than the Shoah, for Heaven’s sake.

Stewart’s whole speech is predicated on a rejection of living an integrated life. Don’t be a Catholic, be an American. Don’t be moral, be an American. Don’t save babies from getting their brains sucked out through a hose, be an American.

50 million dead babies… is that what passes for “sanity”? Then to Hell with sanity. Down with compromise. Down with legalized butchery and with officially sanctioned sodomy. Down with cowards who spit upon our troops. Up with the Catholic Faith. Up with patriotism. Up with gallantry.

I feel sorry for the little boy wearing the “My parents made me come” T-shirt, who’s sort of looking down at the ground.😦

But anyway…

The point that I have been trying to make and that many folks misunderstand, is that Stewart is not speaking for Catholics. He is a liberal. He is on Obama’s side, even though he tried to look like an outsider in the interview. (that could just have been Obama’s incompetence, though) He supports abortion, homosexuality, birth control, and the like.

Every time that the right tries to be “bi-partisan” it ends up losing, and the left gets its way.

So Stewart, oddly enough, is calling for more bi-partisanship? That makes no sense. No bill created by a liberal in Congress who worked on it, then adds a conservative idea at the last minute, can be called bi-partisan. The healthcare overhaul is far from bi-partisan. The stimulus packages are far from bi-partisan.

They are liberal ideas. Ideas Stewart advocates. Perhaps he wants the left to ease off! Perhaps he thinks the country needs a good dose of conservatism! Or… perhaps he doesn’t.

By the way, Adeodatus: right on.👍
