Maybe they were a sarcastic response to the originals, after all this was a rally led by a couple of comedians - not passionate grass roots activists…Just a thought.

P.S.: By “originals”, I mean the original Hitlermustache-bearing posters - just in case anyone else thinks I mean the original hair that grew over Hitler’s top lip…
Priceless…no, really: priceless. Not evenJon Stewart could make this up.

I know humor when I see it, and I’ll laugh at him and his jokes when they are funny. I’ll be nice to people to a point.

But he and the rest of the liberals in this country have pushed hatred into the laps of conservatives. They have been on television talking **** about everyone they can. If they think I’m going to ignore that and start promoting civility, bipartisanship and all that, they got another thing coming.
Having running roughshod over everyone who disgreed with them while mocking and denigrating them in every way possibe now, as they’re about to be booted out his power, they whine “can’t we just get along”

Here’s a slide show of some of the signs. What’s your favorite?

Thanks…shows the quality (lots of masturbation signs) and predominantly liberal (signs that were political were anti-Fox, anti-tea party, etc…only one Obama as an alien) nature of the crowd.

From what I’ve read, the on-stage stuff was fairly non-partisan and on-message, even though the celebrities were mostly liberals. I think one poster may be correct about Stewart/Colbert intention to use the non-partisan, “can’t we all just get along” tone to then reroute people to Obama and the Democrats…

Cat Stevens publically supported the death fatwa against Salman Rushdie. He shouldn’t have been part of the entertainment at a supposedly non-political rally.

More of the same…anti-tea party, masturbatory humor…is that what Colbert and Stewart were going for? They want us to go from screaming to ridicule with sexual references? Success! :o
:sad_yes:
Some of those signs are just sick and some of them didn’t make any sense at all. If they where shooting for a bi-paritsan effort they failed.

Angry conservatives upset with Stewart’s hilarious rally and some of the off-color signs is just the epitome of the pot calling the kettle black. For a year now we’ve seen tea partiers parading racist, violent, hate-mongering, idiotic signs that go beyond the pale of bad taste. And yet today we have ‘outrage’ from a few in here about some masturbatory goofy albeit in bad taste humor at a Jon Stewart rally? It’s amazing how partisan things are in here that it’s ok when the GOP tea partiers do it and somehow it’s tasteless and totally unacceptable when the left does it? This is like the Outer Limits or the Twilight Zone!?

It’s pretty hard to make fun of Stewart’s silly group and be ok with this stuff, right? Just for once can we all agree that the polemics on all these rallies left and right, are absurd and out of control?

Sums what up? We were asked about the pictures from Stewarts stand up show in DC and we posted our opinions. You want to pull signs up out of nowhere and calls us hypocrites over that?

As far as I know there wasn’t anyone putting up web sites looking to sabotage the comedy central stand up special in DC and paint them all as racists.

People… except babies of course.

We’ve butchered 50 million babies in this country alone via abortion. That’s 8 times worse than the Shoah, for Heaven’s sake.

Stewart’s whole speech is predicated on a rejection of living an integrated life. Don’t be a Catholic, be an American. Don’t be moral, be an American. Don’t save babies from getting their brains sucked out through a hose, be an American.

50 million dead babies… is that what passes for “sanity”? Then to Hell with sanity. Down with compromise. Down with legalized butchery and with officially sanctioned sodomy. Down with cowards who spit upon our troops. Up with the Catholic Faith. Up with patriotism. Up with gallantry.

Viva la Muerte!
Viva Cristo Rey!
Not cooperating with evil is distinctly different from not cooperating at all.

There is just no way for any country to progress if it divides into sides that will not cooperate. Just think about it: if I had to break off cooperation with everyone who supported the things you condemn (some quite correctly in my opinion), I’d have to grow my own food, generate my own electricity, drill a well for water supply, withdraw all savings and investments and stitch up my own cuts at the kitchen sink.

Sound ridiculous? No more so than the idea of sharply polarized politics where the main aim is, not to move the country forward but to get the other side out of office. Believe me, it would not end with Obama, we would just get into another bitter round of tit for tat. That’s how you lose a country like this - not by electing a single person for one or two terms, but by abandoning the principle of cooperation that it was founded on.

The point that I have been trying to make and that many folks misunderstand, is that Stewart is not speaking for Catholics. He is a liberal. He is on Obama’s side, even though he tried to look like an outsider in the interview. (that could just have been Obama’s incompetence, though) He supports abortion, homosexuality, birth control, and the like.
I do not think Jon Stewart ever made the claim that he was speaking for Catholics.

He has never claimed to be a Catholic.

I am still confused as to what the need to point out his real name or his jewish background was.

I have my own opinion as to why point out the Jewishness…same as the Barack HUSSSSSEIN Obama speeches…;)😦
