they would not. They believe that only those who were married on earth can be sealed by proxy and then only to their earthly spouse. Now here is where it gets tricky… those who qualify for celestial kingdom but aren’t “sealed” become servants (ministering angels) there. Men can be sealed to an unlimited number of women and Mormon doctrine teaches that worthy women will be sealed to exalted men. So only men will be “ministering angels”. Of course what happens to those men who died before they were of age or didn’t have worthy wives to be sealed to? (it doesn’t matter if wife became unworthy later, they still had the sealing ordinance and believe the lord will provide wives in the afterlife but if they mere married outside the temple they have no promise) you see where this is going? some LDS believe that this all gets sorted out in the millennium. in any case the doctrine is clear that in the next life only polygamists are going to be Gods. If they didn’t practice polygamy on earth because the “prophet” said not to then they will be given wives in the next life.
This is what finally got my wife to leave the Mormon church. She finally had to accept that Joseph Smith was a polygamist and that his teachings on this created doctrine of celestial polygamy. My Temple worker Mom tried real hard to make her think this was okay because we would only practice this in heaven where there was no jealousy.
The next trip to the temple my wife looked at the absence of any visible role of heavenly mother(s) and the plight of eve and decided to go to RCIA. we are now happy Catholics.
Thanks be to God.
