This entourage of officials, it certainly strikes me as reckless that Soleimani went to the Baghdad airport. Reckless behavior.
 
Poor soul. He was just too high strung.
I’m afraid the strain was more than he could bear.

If we were saying this was a reelection stunt, in turn, do we say that the Iran nuke deal helped fund terrorism OR Iran’s foreign ventures across the Middle East? Because it seemed too.
 
I haven’t seen any reaction from within Iran but I expect there will be quite a lot of Iranians who are quietly, secretly, celebrating.

Okay, this is not my area of expertise or anything but yes, quite a few Iranians seem to welcome this news.

This is such a big news event, I feel hesitant to even quote sources but the ruling regime over there seems very tyrannical per the common people of Iran.

Let’s not forget and it was unbelievable reading the reports, hundreds if not over a thousand protesters in Iran AND Iraq have been killed for merely demonstrating, we don’t see that in China or anywhere in recent years though, I do think China is probably imprisoning a lot of people at that.

I’m no cheerleader for one side or another, it is obvious though, that your common Iranian people, in Iran and abroad, have seemed to suffer greatly under this regime.

Indeed, all of this is unsettling, it may be an overall positive but obviously, we can expect a danger of retaliation. Unsettling very much for me.

If you look closely at the flag, it’s not in a very good state of repair. I suspect it’s on its way to the bonfire.
 
Iranians have been demonstrating for weeks, maybe months. You don’t hear about it because their government has been stifling the media.

Quite possibly so, it does have holes in it. It also, could be something they drew up on rags…

Oh, and I wanted to say earlier, I hope there was at least some consultation with our allies like the UK or France. I don’t say Iraq here because apparently, Iraq is under quite a bit of control from Iran.

400 in Iraq, to my knowledge.

7 in Lebanon.

An indeterminate number in Iran, but death tolls must be high given that Khamenei gave the order to “crush them in whatever way possible.”
 
I have read “Naharnet” for years, I may well be wrong, I’m not from over there but I’ve found them to be informative with a lively comment section, they are like old faces to me, someone from most of those factions over there. I’ve read Naharnet, they print a lot of AFP stories, I have never commented myself but I have read the commentary for years.

Yes, good point, I’ve heard that made before.

Iran will likely act like they have to act… I mean, it’s hard to not see this.

They shot down our drone, we didn’t really act, they have fired these missiles into areas where our troops were 4 times I believe.

Unfortunately, this will be a buzz because Iran will feel they have to act… or maybe they might drawback and see that reportedly, General Soleimani did cause a lot of grief for a lot of people.
