We have had small bats get in 3 times over the years because “someone” (not me) left the garage door open at twilight. One time we couldn’t find where one went and we found it asleep in a waste paper basket the next morning. 😳 Another time, we couldn’t find it again after it was flapping around all over the house, everyone yelling and getting excited. I finally saw it about 10a.m. the next morning, hanging upside down by its feet from the hall light! Ewww. Made my husband come home from work and get it down! 😡

Never had one in the house. Yuk, little carriers of rabies around here.

These guys are fun…

Really?? Ewwwww. Get that off my screen!! Someone get a boot and stomp it! 🤢

It’s a part of life eradicating pests…the other option isn’t very nice…headlice, bedbugs, mice ,cockroaches, ants ,dust mite ,mosquitos, flies…all sharing our home and food…🤮

So Ron, go out and look around and see how he got in and seal it up!
You sound more bossy than my wife.
But I have to admit there is a leadership vacuum in our home that she tries to fill. So fair enough. 🙂

You remind me of Edgar the bug man /alien in Men in Black 🙂 :alien:

🪲 I’m glad you have a sense of humour GC

So that is how Americans get rid of cockroaches and mice in their house? 🙂
Not for mice since that would be a waste of ammo, so many of us use cats. 🐱
For roaches some of us trap them in a device called a roach motel, then ship them off to New Zealand. 😁

I have a cousin who was always like that growing up. She didn’t want to step on ants and if she found a spider, she’d catch-and-release.

Maybe I’m cold-hearted, but I never had a problem squishing them. 😝

At least it was just a dead mouse. I had a friend who had problems with squirrels. He had to trap and eliminate them.

I caught a mouse - using my cowboy boot - scooped him up - but injured him -
let him loose outside - crows were watching - looking on !
Your mouse had a instant death. POW !!!

I threw a rock at a rabbit - rabbits are everywhere now - eating expensive flowers
so anyways, the rock hit my Saint Francis statue - on a bounce -
broke the head off !
had to use ‘gorilla glue’ to adjust it back on - lol

On my .2 acres of urban paradise, I don’t kill anything. I have trapped pack rats and mice in live traps, but I let them go. I have @ five species of lizards and a gecko that eat all my bugs. A king snake keeps the furry critters at bay. Currently I have a bunch of little ground squirrels running around. They’re pretty destructive with all their digging, but they’re so cute I let them be. Besides, they clean up all my mesquite beans. The bunnies are good for cleaning up yard litter as well, though they do have have a penchant for my verbena and globe mallow.

Just curious, where do you let them go? One thing that always held me back from this approach is the fear that if I just open the door and them go, they’ll find their way right back inside the same way they came in the first time.
