How many women, pregnant women, came to PP but did not have an abortion or adoption?

Lets say a million pregnant women saw PP in 2010. Lets assume the stats are these,

Abortion: 300k
Adoption: 1k
Keeping Child: 699k

In these stats, of services for pregnant women,

30% was abortion
0.1% was adoption
69.9% was keeping the child (doing nothing)

To say that PP does 98% abortions on pregnant women under this model would mean that 980k pregnant women had an abortion. These of course aren’t real numbers. So, how many pregnant women came to PP but did not have an adoption or abortion? To claim a % of PP services for pregnant women without this info is irresponsible.
7021 pregnant women got services from Planned Parenthood that were not adoption or abortion.

And then there are the “abortions” performed on women who aren’t pregnant.

Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly,
'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I’ve a many curious things to shew when you are there."
Oh no, no," said the little Fly, “to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne’er come down again.”

“I’m sure you must be weary, dear, with soaring up so high;
Will you rest upon my little bed?” said the Spider to the Fly.
“There are pretty curtains drawn around; the sheets are fine and thin,
And if you like to rest awhile, I’ll snugly tuck you in!”
Oh no, no," said the little Fly, “for I’ve often heard it said,
They never, never wake again, who sleep upon your bed!”

Catholics cannot support Susan G. Komen for the Cure-as they support Planned Parenthood.

How many women do you think who go to PP-are of the age to have mammograms?

Do you even know what age women start to have mammograms?

We, who are of the age to receive them-do not go to Planned Parenthood-for anything.

Young, fertile women don’t get mammograms. If they have a problem, they need to see a doctor, not an Abortion Clinic.

Trust me—I’ve been out there, on the other side of the fence. Those girls who tell me they’re just going in for health care-I ask them to bring their mothers, and go for health care together.

They never do.

Why? Because it is an Abortion Provider.

God Bless you.
+Jesus, I Trust In You!
Love, Dawn
I had the wife of a Deacon asking me to support her by giving $ per each mile that she walked in one of the Susan G. Komen “race for the cure”. I sent an email back describing the issue with this organization supporting PP. Her comment was that the cause of breast cancer is too important to her, and not giving money to Susan G. Komen would be like throwing the baby away with the water.

I was really tempted to ask her how many babies will be flushed away with the water because of this attitude.

Why can’t they donate to the American Cancer Society? What’s the big deal about Susan G. Komen? “Race for the Cure” is so prevalent every where. Almost all the women in my gym wear the tee shirts. It’s becoming a commercial enterprise.

So a pregnant women getting condoms, seeking a cancer screening, getting std treatment, or getting a pregnancy test wouldn’t count?

What about all the people who may need services that have nothing to do with children?

I was 14 when my reproductive system started acting crazy. I won’t go into details here, but I needed to see a doctor. Even though I was a virgin, I couldn’t work up the nerve to tell my parents that I needed to go to the doc. Again, I won’t go into details about why I couldn’t tell my parents. The point is, I was 14, scared, and my body was failing me. I knew about insurance; I knew that if I went to my pediatrician, it would be recorded and my parents could potentially find out. My friend recommended Planned Parenthood. The nurse practitioner was amazing. No abortions. No “trying” to get me pregnant; the poster who mentioned that they give wrong dosage of birth control or shoddy condoms is paranoid I think. I did get a lengthy discussion about sex education and the importance of abstinence at my age 👍 SHOCK! Planned Parenthood hired someone who promoted abstinence?! Yes. Those people exist.

I know this will be torn apart and I know that you think I am pro-Planned Parenthood now. I’m not; I am very pro-choice, but the problem is, there is a dark underbelly to literally EVERYTHING we do. That chicken on your table? Watch Food Inc and try not to feel bad. Walking past that shivering homeless guy? Did you offer him your jacket? NOTHING is without evil (except God). But to deny the good in something because of it’s sins is just as evil as the sin itself. Let’s find a way to make Planned Parenthood a cheap source of OB/GYN care without abortions, instead of trying to scrap the whole thing.

PP is a vile, evil organization that should not only not be recieving Publcic funding but it and its employees should be shunned by every decent person in America. THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO THAT CAN OFFSET THE EVIL OF KILLING 350,000 CHILDREN A YEAR. NOTHING.

Why when there are already plenty of clinics already providing these services for a reduced price or free I can’t even imagine going into a place that murders babies for health care.

Hiding from your parents isn’t a good excuse but it might be an excuse that happens more often than you think.

Hate them for the abortions, but there’s no need to discredit the good they do perform.

I know you are an athesist so you don’t understand good works and a house divided but maybe you could envision supporting Charles Manson because he bought a box of Girl Scout cookies?

Why keep defending an organization that murders children?
I have no problem with condeming PP in the strongest possible terms, and no problem with the assertion that any good they do is outweighed by the harm they do. I just think that argument must be made in a careful factual way without twisting or misrepresenting anything because you cannot teach the truth with a lie. To bring us back to the OP, I think that is what statements like the headline of the article in the OP are doing - misrepresenting facts in a way that ultimately damages the pro-life movement by distracting people from the real issue and by damaging the credibility of the movement.

To be fair, the fact twisting and misrepresentation of PP activities is going a long way in discrediting PP, it’s just not a moral thing to do.

The facts are that Planned Parenthood isn’t providing mammograms, some other entity does. Planned Parenthood can’t provide mammograms because they have no mammography equipment.

It is a half-truth to say PP does not provide mammograms because PP screens women for mammgorams, refers women that need mammograms to providers and then pays for the mammogram. It is an untruth to say that PP grants do not pay for mammograms because they do.
Screening and refering is a far cry from providing.
I would like to see another organization be used in place of PP to do the same women’s health functions - such as screening women for mammograms, making referrals and paying for them. But it is hard to convince others to make that change with half-truths and un-truths.
Plenty of them out there, they just don’t have near enough lobbyists like PP.
Say I go to my doctor, Dr. X, with an infection and he looks at it and writes me a prescription for an antibiotic. I go to the pharmacist and they fill it, with my insurer paying for it.

If I started telling people that Dr. X is not a good doctor because I had an infection and he did not provide me with the antibiotics I needed, would most people think that was a fair statement? If I started telling people that my insurer was not a good insurer because they did not provide me with the antibiotics I needed, would most people think that was a fair statement?
It would only be a fair statement if the doctor or insurance company advertised they provided antibiotics.

They are a vile , evil organization. There is no amount of alleged “good” they can do that can offset the evil they engage in.

Technically, PP doesn’t provide diagnostic mammograms, I don’t know about mammogram screenings. What PP does do is they subsidize and set up mammogram services for you at no or little cost,

2010_newsletter
The Central Texas Affliate of The Susan G. Komen
Foundation granted $25,000 to the Planned Parenthood
mammography program to provide screening for
low-income women and an additional $20,000
for abnormal mammography follow-up diagnostic
testing for 2010. Planned Parenthood contracts with
the Hillcrest Breast Screening Center and Providence
Breast Health Center to provide mammography to
selected low-income patients.
So, what’s the big deal with the mammograms? Who cares if PP refers and pays someone else other than doing it themselves? Does it make this service any less valuable?

I care becuase they wave their alleged mammograms around like the Sword of excalibur as jusitification as to why they get public funding.
