I’m hoping to convert, and in fact have been mulling it over for 20 years. And I’ve been deeply disappointed that TLM isn’t commonplace these days. I think there’s one or two churches in my area that have TLM at least once a month, but I don’t have a car and I can’t get to them. TLM would just seem to me more…Catholic. Modernism is one of the things driving me away from Protestantism.

If I had a nickel for every time someone said this, I would be a rich man. It is so disheartening to see the gross disconnect between the Vatican’s calls for a wide and generous indult and the niggardly response of most bishops. One or two indults per diocese effectively cuts quite a few folks (like Seeker and myself) off from the TLM because we lack the means of getting there and back.

If I didn’t know you better, I’d say you almost made a racial remark. But, I know you and definitions of words.

There is a particular word in your post that is similar to a racial epithet.

However when you look it up in the dictionary you see that it has no relation to race.

It means stingy and that is exactly how I read it and in the context used, it could in no way be considered racial.

If I said I had a gay old time at the beach, I would not be saying I was a homosexual. Words have multiple meanings.

I thought you made it very obvious that you meant it in jest.
