i have noticed that there is huge differences between Catholics and Mormons. actually there is huge differences between what the world consider “mainstream Christianity” and Mormons. so im just going to tell you all at once what we believe in and speculate on completely(its better to hear this from a Mormon’s point of view so you get your facts right). Note: some of this information is not from the scriptures is from the books Life Everlasting and The Life Before
First, God was once a mortal like us and went through the trials and tests from his god. so we believe our religion is established throughout other planets. anyway he did the same things we Mormons do. got baptized, got sealed to his wife, went through the temple. then after he was resurrected by his god and was exalted by his god to a god. Then he begot spirit children in the pre-existence, first one being Jesus, there we matured to a adult spirit form. then he called together His children and told them the Plan of Salvation and what we would have to do. go to Earth and receive a body and go through our mortal probation, but we had to have a Savior to atoned for our sins. so Jesus came up and said, “Father, thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever” then Lucifer came and said, " Behold, her am I, send me, I will be thy Son, and i will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it, wherefore give me thine honor." you can find those verses in the Pearl of Great Price in Moses chapter 6. God chose Jesus. Lucifer become angry and rebelled against God with hate and anger(note Lucifer was not always Satan he was an angel before) and he rose up a rebellion and 1/3 of the human family sided with him and thus began the war in heaven. So God banished him and the 1/3 but allowed he women to stay. then Lucifer became Satan. so the rest of Human family accepted God’s plan and that’s how it started.
Second, So here we are on Earth, now we are taught that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father and become like him through the teachings of the Gospel. first you must be baptized, second(boys) receive the Priesthood then when your nineteen you go through the temple then if you want go on a mission. then come back and get sealed to a woman you love and have children(i don’t know if that’s required) raise them in Gospel then after you die when you die and go to Spirit World. there are two sides in the Spirit World Spirit Paradise where the righteous of the Earth go( Mormons who have been faithful) and Spirit Prison where the rest of world go who have not had a fair opportunity to accept or reject the Gospel(Mormon Gospel). then we wait there until the Resurrection and the Coming of Jesus. When Jesus comes all will be resurrected. the people of Spirit Paradise will be resurrected first and live on the Earth with Christ for a thousand years. after the rest of the world will be resurrected. then there will be Judgment from God. you will be judged according to what you did on Earth. then you will be sent to your kingdom: there are three kingdoms in heaven Telestial Kingdom( the lowest kingdom) that is where most of the world will go, Terrestrial Kingdom( middle kingdom where people who were in the LDS Church but were not as faithful as they should have been.) Celestial Kingdom (the highest kingdom where God and Jesus lives that is where faithful LDS members, valiant in their testimonies in Jesus, and did the requirements on Earth will go and become like our Heavenly Father, gods. so we can begot spirit children and organize worlds
What a delightful fantasy. But alas, nothing but a fantasy, with no truth in it. Please do not be disappointed when all this does not come true. You still have time to seek the true Faith, do not waste your time with mormonism, but instead learn about the fantasy of mormonism from non-mormon sources.

I testify to you by the Power of the Holy Spirit that these things will come true for the Spirit has testified to me that these things are true and the will come to pass.

Over to you, PakerD.

Over to you, PakerD.
ParkerD is one of your fellow members of the LDS faith, who (in the “Is Mormonism A Polytheistic Religion?” thread) has been trying his absolute best to tap-dance around exactly what you just wrote in your previous post. He has heavily implied (but of course never explicitly stated) that LDS theology has no definitive teaching on the origin of “Heavenly Father.” Rather, his implied claim is that LDS theology simply tolerates various areas of speculation on the matter and his personal view is that the specifics of who created “Heavenly Father” don’t really matter all that much.

Furthermore, he claims that LDS theology does not hold that that mortal men in this world can be exalted to the same level as “Heavenly Father,” because even if someone inherits all the promises made by “Heavenly Father” through Jesus, the Gospels and the other books of LDS doctrine (aka - they make it to “Celestial Kingdom”) that person will always be “dependent on” or in some way subordinate to “Heavenly Father.” At the same time, however, “Heavenly Father” is not subordinate to or dependent on the being that (may or may not have) created Him.

In short, one of you is bearing false witness.

I testify to you by the Power of the Holy Spirit that these things will come true for the Spirit has testified to me that these things are true and the will come to pass.
And I testify to you by the power of the Holy Spirit and Our Lord Jesus Christ and Holy Mother Church that the religion that you profess is false and is not of God, but is of the manufacture of Joseph Smith, who is a proven false prophet.

OK we believe that God was not always God. he was once a mortal like us and went through the same things. then he was exalted by his god. and we believe that it is impossible to create things out of nothing.
This god, by definition, is not God. God is not contingent.

really? well he is true in some statements like we can’t reach the level as our Heavenly Father if or when we become like him He will always exceed us in glory. he will share his fulness of glory but we cant precede Him. And he is prob tap-dancing around about what i just said because the very idea of becoming like our Heavenly Father seems so alien to everyone else.

well we have gotten to the point where all we can do in this situation is testify what we believe i wish you luck!

Then I’ll ask you what I asked him: If the above statement is true, then it stands to reason that Heavenly Father cannot “exceed in glory” the being that exalted Him, yes?

there is no doctrine or scripture or even book that states that God cannot precede his god but my guess is yes he cannot, put it like this try to put yourself in God’s position. he has a Heavenly Father and loves him just as we love ours so im guessing he would not care if he can’t precede his father because of unconditional love they share just has we share with ours.

I don’t need luck, I have the one True Faith. mormons need all the luck that they can get, because they are placing their faith in falsehood.

well i just want to say that i never offended you or your religion by saying that your leaders or religion is false or anything i m wondering why you are offending me im just testifying what i believe in.

ParkerD is tap-dancing because that is the only thing that he can do to attempt to defend the preposterous mess that is mormon “theology.” His attempts to explain that which cannot be rationally explain merely makes him look foolish as it will you if you follow his example. Because you are young and naive, you can be excused for believing such claptrap, he should know better. Simply because it comes from an adult, does not necessarily make it true. Read the history of mormonism from non-mormon sources, then make up your mind.

Repectfully, Hosemonkey, it would appear that some cheek-turning on your part is in order.

If you are offended by the truth, then I can do nothing about that. mormons have no such qualms about offending Catholics by stating that Catholics fell into a “Great Apostacy” and it required the likes of Joseph Smith to correct the mistakes made and lies told by Jesus Christ Himself. I choose not to be offended because I know the character of Joseph Smith and of the crimes that he committed in the name of his false “religion”. It is however not too late for you, do some studying on the origins of mormonism and the shady history of Joseph Smith. Look into non-mormon, secular history, not lies put forth by the mormon “church.”

I would simply point out that those are two very different propositions: one says that “Heavenly Father” cannot precede his creator, the other says that “Heavenly Father” would not precede his creator. And they have very different implications.

I notice that Mormons rely heavily on the Book of Revelation for their support of the promises of the afterlife. How do you square the fact that “Heavenly Father” has a creator who precedes him with “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last.” According to LDS teaching, “Heavenly Father” is neither the first, nor the last.
