To date I have not received a reply from EWTN, it’s probably a busy time for whoever was given the question. In the meantime, someone referred me to a recent article in the National Catholic Register, which explained everything, and yes, I must have misunderstood Fr Pacwa, so I stand corrected. Your interest, and information on this site explaining similar changes, for example made by Pope Benedict, helps me to understand where Pope Francis is coming from in the difficulty of that particular line in the Our Father. I’m hoping it isn’t changed, I’ve never met any Catholics who might have been confused by it, and of course there are lovely hymns written to the original words.
