For example, Greer and Whittemore should be impeached.
Greer is a Florida state judge. DeLay has nothing to do with his impeachment.

Whittemore is a federal judge, and the President can ask him to step down as an alternative to impeachment.

Brad:
Too many people will oppose Delay on this simply because he is a Republican. Care to send him a letter of support to work to impeach these judges?
Okay, as this transcends our partisan politics.

We are splitting hairs here. Obviously we want to put pressue on the Florida legislature for Greer but DeLay could still influence Florida Republicans.

Not sure about the President asking him to step down. Asking or requiring? If it is the former, he will say not. If the latter, how?

Haven’t had time to really research this, but if impeachment is a start, go to:

petitiononline.com/ijg520/petition.html

Sign the petition to impeach Greer. I’m not sure if you must be a Floridian in his district to get the job done but public opinion is still a powerful force.

Steve Andersen:
Removing the checks and balances from the system is a not a good way to go

What happens when the legislature or the presidency is in the hands of folks you don’t agree with?

We need all three braches of government to operate independently of each other
Steve:

The Supreme Court is Independent. The other courts are creatures of Congress and subject to the oversight and direction of Congress in all matters excepting their decisions - and even this can be overruled by Congress by taking away from those courts the right of review.

Richardols:
Why don’t you fellows use the already existing remedies of impeachment and replacement of judges found to be derelict in their duties?
Richard:

The Supreme Court is independent and can speak on constitutionality of law. All other Federal Courts are created by Congress and their roles are delineated by Congress. It is possible for Congress to eliminate all District and Appeals courts with the concurrence of the Executive (and even without by overriding his potential veto.) This is constitutional. I do agree with you that x % of judges should be impeached and replaced each year or two based on their record of adjudicating the law.

Here in Boston we are now enjoying our 31st year of Judicial Tyranny in the form of forced busing. Even though a single witness in a murder trial can send the defendant to death or life in prison, countervailing evidence and several thousand eyewitnesses that the Boston schools were not segregated was ignored, and the erroneous opinion of a single non-elected judge prevailed.

Thirty-one continuous years of protest against the forced busing judicial decree has availed nothing but white flight and a very segregated school system (the entire Boston Public Schools are now 86% black & hispanic, in egregious violation of the 1964 Racial Imbalance Act which prompted forced busing in the first place), and three attempts at municipal incorporation.

Our politicians are either impotent, complacent, or complicit. So after 31 years of direct experience with judicial tyranny here in South Boston, Massachusetts it is my opinion that Congress and the Senate should remove the Judiciary as a branch of government and privatize it.

Please read: COERCING VIRTUE: The Worldwide Rule of Judges by Robert H. Bork

“This judicial activism appears to impinge on the legitimate domains of the executive and legislative branches of government and constitutes the judicialization of politics and morals.”

Since only 25% of Americans possess a college degree, and 1 out of 300 Americans is a lawyer, and the majority of politicians are lawyers, and everytime you elect a lawyer to office they become complacent to judicial decree, then the only solution to this jurist pollution and save democracy that I can see is the total removal of the judiciary as a branch of government and privatize it.

I checked out the site:

Removal of feeding tube - a sin

Homosexual Marriage - a sin

Taking God of the Pledge of Allegiance - who cares?

Bann on 10 Commandments monument - who cares?

Abortion on Demand - a sin

Prohibition on School Prayer in public schools - hey, I’m opposed to that one myself

You need to listen to the wealth of speakers and backers of this project. It was on C-Span yesterday and will be on again today.

To your points and in a nutshell, you cannot avoid sin without any basis of understanding. Purposely denying prayer, erasing the 10 commandments, and striking God out of any patriotic pledges, sayings, or documents erodes at the understanding of foundational reasons to avoid sin.

I’ll give 1 example. You want school shootings to be eliminated? Put discipline, prayer, and uniforms back into the public schools or at least provide means for all children to attend a school that has these disciplines.

In any event, the examples listed on the web site are just examples of an out-of-control judiciary. The bottom line is we exist now at a state where the number of “bad” judges is rapidly increasing and forcing their will upon the populace at large. Alexis de Tocqueville did detailed analysis of our form of government and was quite insightful. He said the following:

The president, who exercises a limited power, may err without causing great mischief in the state. Congress may decide amiss without destroying the Union, because the electoral body in which congress originates may cause it to retract its decision by changing its members. But if the supreme court is ever composed of imprudent men or bad citizens, the Union may be plunged into anarchy or civil war.

By the way, several of the speakers at this conference agreed that Jeb Bush did have executive authority to intervene in the Terri Schiavo case but lacked the will to do so. So, this is not about politics as much as it is about judicial impropriety and it’s impact on the culture.

Hey Brad,

I saw this on c span 2 …very interesting…people spoke from all areas…
Indeed. This likes a movment to get behind full steam.

Although it was all interesting, of particular interest was the comment that in order to have a free society, that society must be based on the principles of a higher power, or God. For if the society is not based on these higher principles than man, then man is in charge of all rights. If man is in charge of all rights then any right given can also be taken away. Society cannot be free without government recognition of a transcendent God.

Just a point of clarification, but wasn’t the problem with the Schaivo case the ABSENCES of activist judges? As far as I understand it, the judges upheld the letter of the law, at the expense of Terri’s life.

  1. Judge Greer violated the Florida constitution and the U.S constitution by failing to provide protection of life and liberty of Terri Schiavo. He further violated Florida law by failing to protect the disabled. He then ignored subpoenas for Terri Schiavo issued by U.S. congress which require protection of person subpoenaed, which is to be in contempt of Congress.
  2. Judge Whittemore likewise violated the U.S. constitution by failing to protect life and liberty of Terri Schiavo as well as failure to give her due process. He also frustrated the will of congress by failing to exercise their intent with a new review of the facts of the case.
If you want a simple summary, the judges in this case (most of them) errored on the side of death rather than life, reflecting their bias in favor of secularism and against Christian beliefts. They are willing to go as far as inventing their own constitution as they see fit to implement their beliefs overtop of “We the People”, whom are the rightful operators of the goverment.

I encourage everyone to listen to the 4/11/05 broadcast of Focus on the Family where Dr. Dobson interviews Mark Levin, the author of “Men in Black”, in which he outlines the dangers of not requiring checks and balances on the Supreme Court.

Purposely denying prayer,
Kids can pray, but it cannot be a school sponsored prayer session. And a one minute moment of prayer doesn’t mean squat. Children should be taught their religion at home. I oppose prayer in public schools.
erasing the 10 commandments,
The Decalogue wasn’t “erased,” the one monument was banned from a public place. I personally don’t care whether they display them or not. No harm is being done.
and striking God out of any patriotic pledges
God wasn’t in the Pledge until 1950. Reference to God is immaterial. I don’t oppose removing the reference, but I don’t care if it’s removed.
