It was a remark designed to get the reaction it received: free publicity.
after having watched both a clip of the original cnbc show and one of the interview she did with bill o’reilly the next day, i came to the conclusion that in her mind at least she was needling the host of the cnbc show not so much for being jewish as for being a secularist.

i think at one point she said “it would be okay if you were a religious jew, but you’re not” and he disagreed but they didn’t explore that angle any further.

Her remark was designed to light a fuse.
Perhaps, but that is an uncharitable judgment I am unprepared to make. I actually think it more likely that she meant just what she said so I will ask again: what is wrong with the idea she expressed?

I’m wondering the same thing. I guess the issue is that Christians can think it, but not say it.

“I am the illegal alien of commentary. I will do the jokes that no one else will do.” -Ann Coulter

More and more it appears that certain organizations like ADL and others are anxious to attack Ann at the least provocation. They are “trigger happy.”

These same ones attacked to “Passion of the Christ” long before it was released. They coerced virtually all of the film distributors not to dispense this film.

One allegation/prediction was the movie would “…cause anti-Semitism and many will suffer physical harm…{paraphrasing}”

So, did Ann’s comments really damage anyone’s well-being? Have the skinheads gathered to attack anybody?

It is nothing but “lying-in-wait” to attempt to ruin this good christian woman’s career. She is a freethinker and that never sits well with “thought control freaks.”

Folks seem to attack Ann Coulter, but they don’t seem to attack the “beheaders”.

What this all basically boils down to is, Ann Coulter expresses the sentiments that Christianity is the one, true religion; that American-style democracy is the highest form of government; that Western civilization is superior to other cultures; and that all of these should be duly defended against all attackers.

All of these positions are utterly loathsome to those on the left. Ergo, when Christianity, America, or the West are attacked, that’s just fine—even worthy to be cheered; but when Coulter defends them, then she needs to be attacked, derided, discredited, and silenced at all costs.

In our society (and even on this message board) you are censored for criticizing Judaism in any way. My Talmud topic was closed and another post I made critiquing the Talmud a while back was deleted.

While there is no place for racist anti-semetism in any civilized society, there is also no place for Jewish supremacy.

I think there are two arguments going on in this thread. One, the accuracy of Coulter’s statement and two, Coulter’s character. Her character can be argued either way, but the statement is what intrigues me. In an odd way, it made me think of all those sitcoms where a smitten teenager lies about himself thinking that eventually he will grow on the girl and be able to safely reveal his true self. Christians (especially Catholics) seem to approach other faiths that way. The elephant in the room is that we DO believe our faith to be the authentic true faith…but woe to us if we let that truth slip out to someone else!

Its a shame Coulter is getting far more than her undeserved 15 minutes

One thing we know for certain as Christians: Ann Coulter has gained favor with God in her praise of Jesus being the path for “perfection.”

She will be scorned by those that take umbrage for that statement but what is that in God’e eyes?

Reality in this world today is hardly any different than the Early Church 2,000 years ago. factions existed then and they exist today against the Gospel.

Praised be Jesus Christ ! (Today, tomorrow and ALWAYS)

It is also obvious that Ann Coulter fasts. Perhaps too much.

I read the transcript and I don’t think God’s going to let her go to the front of the line when she passes.

That is so true bones! The Catholic Church (including Pius XII) consitently opposed anti-semetism, and yet liberal Jews still throw a fit.

The ADL is basically a Jewish-supremacist group. Even though Hitler killed more Slavs than Jews, no one ever hears a thing about the Slavs. And the reason is because Slavic-Americans don’t control Hollywood.
Could you please elaborate on your reference to Jewish supremacy. What is its definition, sources and how does it express itself? Is the idea of Jewish supremism similar to the idea
of “Jewish Naturalism” as espoused by Fr. Fahey and if so, is it a concept rooted in Catholicism and Catholic attitudes towards Jews?

🤷 Typical propaganda from those who preach “tolerance”.

Why is it that people say it was “6 million Jews who died in the Holocaust”? It was 12 million people half of them Jews! Abe Foxman and his anti-pope squad are out to silence the Church. There’s anti-semitism yes, but it doesn’t have it’s origins in Christianity. Right?

Mit Brennender Sorge points out the paganistic origins of anti-semitism.
  1. Whoever exalts race, or the people, or the State, or a particular form of State, or the depositories of power, or any other fundamental value of the human community – however necessary and honorable be their function in worldly things – whoever raises these notions above their standard value and divinizes them to an idolatrous level, distorts and perverts an order of the world planned and created by God; he is far from the true faith in God and from the concept of life which that faith upholds.
Who are the members of “the anti Pope squad”. What actions do they take in order “to silence the Church”. If the origins of antisemitism are not in Christianity do you therefore hold that there is no Christian antisemitism?

Things are getting ridiculous. Jews disproportionately control the top echelons of power, society, and the major media outlets. It’s not a conspiracy theory, and it’s neither a good thing, nor a bad thing…it’s simply a fact. Regardless of these societal privileges, however, they still feel threatened enough by the things individuals say. Why does Foxman care so much about what a comedian, or about what a priest in a foreign country says? What is he afraid of? Judging by the reaction, you’d think we were on the brink of another Holocaust. How many people these days actually passionately hate Jews and want them dead? Only a small number of loons who tend to hang around radical Islamic, and neo-nazi circles. He needs to get a grip.
How did Jews come to “disproportionately control the top echelons of power, society, and the major media outlets”. Can you give examples. Is such control legitimate? Is it a good thing or a bad thing? How does it influence you as a non Jew?

Modern Judaism is a mess because it lacks Jesus. Is it any coincedence so many Jews support the abortion holocaust, homosexuality, liberalism/marxism, state atheism, blasphemy, etc?

The only form of Judaism that I have any respect for is Orthodox Judaism, and they are a huge minority. “Reform Judaism”, “Conservative Judaism”, and “Secular Judaism” are all utter perversions of the faith of Abraham and Moses. If Moses or Abraham or Elijah saw the horrid Talmud they would burst into tears.
Would you find it legitimate if a non Christian referred to the “New Testament” as “horrid” or “evil”?

It would be leagally acceptable in this day and time in the secular media.

But NOT in a Catholic Forum.

Praise to You, Lord Jesus !

We are all imperfect due to the fall. We are all corruptible–only God is incorruptible. For this He united His nature with ours, so that we might unite ours with His–thus various saints have said, “God became man so that man might become God.” We partake of the divine nature through our union with Jesus Christ, true God and true man.

This can only take place in union with His Mystical Body, which is the Catholic Church. This is why the Church even recently has affirmed that those outside her are objectively in an “gravely deficient” situation (Dominus Iesus, 22).

Since apart from the Body of Christ, which receives salvation through its Divine Head, there is no remission of sins, that perfection cannot be achieved elsewhere.

The problem with what Coulter said is she seems to be operating from evangelical or fundamentalist errors by which she sees the “perfection” as happening at the moment of conversion. Whereas, the truth is that Baptism, by which we become members of the Body of Christ, is the only the beginning of the process of perfection.

Members of the Body of Christ therefore have the potential to be perfected whereas those separated from the Body of Christ do not.

So while it is true that Jews need to be perfected, so does everybody else this side of Heaven. The difference is those who remain separated from Jesus Christ, who do not unite themselves to Him and cannot partake of the divine nature, cannot be perfected.
👍 👍 👍

I think what offends most non-Christians when the question of conversion comes up is the suggestion that we, by virtue of belonging to Christ, are somehow superior to people who do not believe in Him.

Unfortunately, too many Christians labor under that false presumption. I see it all the time, not just with attitudes to Jews but Muslims as well.
