Unfortunately, there is some of this same attitude on this board. šŸ˜¦
True.

I just visited that Baptist Board and view the thread in question. Toward the end, a Catholic has entered the foray and is fighting for us. :clapping:

They have a ā€œno Catholics allowedā€ policy. šŸ˜¦
Yes, Iā€™ve tried to join, and was refused. There are some sympathetic ex-Catholics who have tried to defend the Catholic faith against outright falsehoods, but they are usually shouted down.

I joined a few minutes ago as a Baptist. I will see what happens.

What is your user name? Iā€™ll monitor you. If they discover you ā€œfibbedā€ concerning your faith, theyā€™ll kick you off. Good Luck!

better PM your user namesā€¦

You know how the written word can get you in trouble.

Is that a venial sin? šŸ˜ƒ

Very good suggestion, MrS. since some members of the Baptist Board lurk here.

Check this one outā€¦Just pulled this off another website. This Lutheran minister is asked if he considers all people who hate Catholics to be his friend. Here is what this ā€œexpert on Catholicismā€ says.

I replied, "My friends are not ā€˜anyā€™ enemy of Catholics. My friends are those who love the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word above man-made tradition.

This is an EXPERT who has never looked at the Catholic faith a day in his life. Check out the restā€¦I will warn you that this will make you a bit angry.

Hi,

Iā€™m aware of this Fundamental Baptist site. But didnā€™t see the reference to the Lutheran minister.

However, some Lutheran groups such as the LCMS still officially declare the Pope to be the anti-Christ. See my Creeds page and other links below:

Three weeks ago I had two Jehovahā€™s Witnesseā€™s at my door Sunday afternoon.
One was from California, the other was from England, the one from California seemed to take exception to being called Morman, ignorance on my part, thatā€™s all Iā€™ve head them called.
Probably the reason the one took exception to being called Mormon is because Jehovahā€™s Witnesses are not Mormon; members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are more commonly called Mormon. Mormons and Jehovahā€™s Witnesses are members of 2 completely different religions.

And have you ever read anything about the Evangelical faith without a catholic slant? If Catholics hear a spirit filled pastor preach the message of salvation there are a sizable number of them that will be moved by the Holy Spirit and immediately get saved. If a Protestant becomes a Catholic it is usually a long drawn out process. I have rarely heard of a Protestant going into a Catholic church and being immediately converted. I hate to say this because it sounds bigotted but that is because a Protestant is not moved by the Hoy Spirit to convert to Catholism.

Or maybe the Protestant isnā€™t listening. šŸ˜ƒ

Peace.

And I would disagree (because you are comparing apples and oragnes).

In the Evangelical setting, people get caught up in the emotion of the moment, perhaps the charisma of the speaker and the group pressure to step forward.

For Protestants to Catholicsm, it is such an awakening that often Protestants will do everything possible in their journey toward the Catholic to dispute and refute the Catholic Church, but upon the realization that the Catholic Church is the true church founded by Christ then they embrace Catholicism enthusiastically and probably more zealously than the cradle Catholics.

Peace.

Good answer! šŸ‘

The prayers at dinnertime make me laugh, since I never get invited to say the prayer. I would have a blast if they ever picked me.
Well, if they ever do invite you to say the prayer at meals, throw 'em a curve ball and say it in Latinā€¦ and then listen for all the jaws hitting the table. :dancing:

*BENEDIC, Domine, nos et haec tua dona quae de tua largitate sumus sumpturi. Per Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen. *

(BLESS us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts which we are about to receive from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.)
