You can either choose to only go to stores that require masks or take your chances.
Or you can choose to deal with the very minor annoyance of a piece of fabric over your nose and mouth because that’s a burden a reasonable, mature person would willingly undertake to lessen the chances of getting someone sick in a global pandemic.

I know it’s not as much fun as congratulating oneself on being a hero for defying government “tyranny” but c’mon.

Here’s the thing, it’s not mandatory everywhere. Thus, I’m not defying the government in my area.

If you want to wear a mask, good for you. If you don’t want to wear a mask and don’t have to, good for you. Either way, I see no point in adults lecturing each other over this.

There are cases where people have been prosecuted for knowingly spreading HIV.

I think I’d sue if I had an immunocompromised family member get sick from someone who won’t wear a mask.

Also, if something is going to be mandated, first it should be abundantly available to everybody. You couldn’t find masks in stores, and if you ordered them, you could wait five weeks or more to receive them—if you ever did. I have a friend who has a shop and she had to lay in a supply for her clerks, and she gave me several. Otherwise, I would have had nothing.

HIV is spread in a way very different from COVID-19. I think disclosing the HIV status to a partner is a difficult but responsible choice. However if two consenting adults are having sex without taking precautions to protect themselves from HIV, there is a shared responsibility. I think trials to people ‘spreading’ HIV increase the stigma about HIV and encourage people to hide their status or to avoid getting tested.

I did turn around in stores and hold my breath past people before masks were mandatory. I am thankful now that everyone in public is having to wear one. Still, if I can avoid someone unmasked(like happened two days ago) by swinging around. If not, then I guess it is time to have the local constabulary come issue them a $250 citation, and I will make that call, just like I would for abuse of handicap spots or smoking inside a store.

Assuming the proper laws are modified.
We do not need to make it a criminal act to carry.

Not wearing a mask has the same result. We have had all sorts of issues with initial screenings based on skin temp. That is why we have back up for all who read high. It has been worse since summer.

I would let the judge work that out. As I have said before, I think it a non-issue here at least. So far, there has not been on single case of this becoming an issue. Sufficient to the day, and all that.

Side benefit of the mask requirements is increased Karen content. The slight spread they might give may very well be worth the entertainment, not sure yet. I pray God doesn’t allow them to spread it so we get the best of both worlds, Karens and no covid.

People are constantly fiddling with their masks, so they end up getting whatever germ that came out of their mouth, and is clinging to their mask, on their hands.

The EMHC’s at my parish put on hand sanitizer when they go up to the altar, then they pull up their mask in order to receive Communion from the priest. 🤦‍♂️

It just depends on which sources you trust. As for me, I have zero trust in the CDC or WHO or Fauci or any of the “experts” we see regularly in the media.

Ok, so what’s the upside to not wearing a mask? what’s the potential benefit?

You’re not constantly touching the area around your mouth. People are essentially sticking their hands in their mouths when they fiddle around with their masks.

With HIV, it can be pretty apparent who knowingly spread it.
With covid, I think this would be almost impossible to prove. One would have to pin this down to one person and then prove the linkage between spreader and person who developed covid.

Did you know that if you have to wear a mask and your glasses steam up - you can sue for condensation.
