I don’t want my private dollars to pay for their bad decisions.
Perhaps you should just go with a Medical Saving Account.
It’s no fun to rant when people talk sense.

But my stand remains the same, nonetheless.

Nor, apparently, do they kowtow to rational behavior and compassion.

We are very compassionate people. You have no idea how people take care of each other in the deep South.

I went to Mass this evening for the second time since the virus hit. There’s a sign at the door of our church: Masks are mandatory. If you won’t wear a mask, you’re welcome to watch the livestream from home.

Our parish went from “you should wear a mask,” to “you have to wear a mask,” to “don’t come in if you’re not wearing one.”

I absolutely support our parish.

Indiscriminately? That is pushing back for the sake of pushing back ?
What authority aren’t you kowtowing to?

For those that doubt any benefit from masking here’s some real data about how effective or non effective they are. As you can see, the material used makes a difference as well as double layering them or adding an extra filter inside a double lined one…I use a coffee filter cut to size.

They can actually be quite effective, especially if worn correctly.

This assumed ones breath is filtered through the mask.
Most mask I have seen simply redirect the breath out the sides and over the eyes.

Which is why I said this. I’ve been disappointed that we’ve had no public service announcements on TV showing us how to put on, fit and remove masks. It’s not hard…it just has to be known. I’ve also seen many masks that are way too loose at the sides or just very I’ll fitting. We really need some public education on it. I’m sure those that have no issues with wearing a mask would like to also know how to do it correctly. Sigh…

I agree but even a poorly fitted one offers more protection than no mask at all.

I read a blog post by a school teacher…not sure which grade, 1st?..and she was hilarious describing what her day will be like with kids in masks…
Billy, stop chewing your mask!
Mary, it isn’t a knee pad!
Henry, we do not snap our neighbors mask…that hurts!
Lois, it goes on your face, it’s not a hat!

I do pity teachers if they have to keep their students masked.

Be careful with the wire when you sit down then…you know…
you might end up in hospital anyway.🤭

Mine is one of those cheap disposable ones with no wire. I’ve had it for 3 months now 🤣

I’ m glad then 😃 it can be awkward 😆
If I have to be honest, I didn’t change mine that often either . Just left in the car to “sun tan.“
Not any more now.
I sewed cotton blend to some of the ones you mention, probably a bit better and with a wire, because they were very comfortable fitting ( for me anyway)
And left a space for the tissue paper.
Works for me for now.
I’m not going to ask you any further about why you don’t wear, Ruth Anne, then but…I have to be honest: it kind of exceeds me that there is such an issue about masks there.
