Here’s a handy list of 16 for you:

thefederalist.com/2017/02/06/16-fake-news-stories-reporters-have-run-since-trump-won/

You could also add the breathlessly reported Trump plan to mobilize the National Guard to round up illegal aliens, which turned out not to be true:

lifezette.com/polizette/ap-smacked-bogus-national-guard-report/

And here’s a recent one where the New York Times reported Michael Flynn tweets from a bogus Twitter account:

businessinsider.com/pelosi-cummings-cite-fake-flynn-tweets-2017-2

Taken as a whole, a case could be made that the media is acting as an “enemy of the people” by using disinformation and false stories to try and instigate a violent response against the Trump administration and his supporters, such as recently happened in Berkeley.
👍 I don’t understand why some can’t see this. It is almost like they refuse to live outside the bubble they are in.

McCain is a patriot who not only served for his country in an armed conflict but endured degrading imprisonment. He then served her again for decades as a senior congressman.

His words, therefore, are not without weight and be should be accorded the respect that his lifetime of his service to his nation justly warrants.

You may disagree with him vis-a-vis Trump but you don’t need to disagree with him with disrespect.

again I don’t think anyone has critized John McCain for his military service here. however, that has nothing to do with his political life.
John McCain seems bitter and he shouldn’t be in Europe criticizing our president. McCain is part of the establishment group of Republicans like the Bush family who never supported Trump and I find McCain’s behavior very disheartening.

Being a war hero does not give you a life-long pass to mouth off, or say whatever you want. Most people credit him for his service; I know I do as a veteran. That doesn’t mean he has any more credibility now when running his mouth than anyone else. Most conservatives see him as a hindrance and a bitter old man. Thank you for your service. You endured what most could not. Now go retire before you tarnish your legacy.

well said!

Calling them the enemy of the people cannot be dismissed as “leveling legitimate criticism”.

Do you have a list of the “unverified” stories and the proof that there are materially false?
(BTW “many of which”? do you also object ot true stories?)
Are they the same stories that he has in mind or is he also including press criticism of his penchant for telling unverified stories that prove to be false?

It would be interesting to discover the top ten, and examine what was true, what was false, and what are the real issues that Trump has with them.
Trump often engages in hyperbole and falsehoods. He is used to doing that in the business world. As McCain and others have said, it is best to evaluate Trump on his behavior as President rather than on his words.

. Most conservatives see him as a hindrance and a bitter old man.
I know some do. I don’t. I see a man who will not change just because his party has changed. A Republican still capable of working with Democrats is a rarity, but one we will need in the future. Talking trash may make some here feel better, but it is a poor way to unify the country, if in fact any are really serious about “making America great again.”

“A bitter old man.” This sounds like a touch of ageism to me, plus McCain is not so old by today’s standards. But I do agree with you that he should not get an automatic pass to say whatever he likes just because of his military service, which I think we all praise (except perhaps Trump, that is, who criticized McCain for being caught).

From what Ive heard. This is one of Trumps endearing qualities. Ive been told, he speaks his mind, does not fall for political correctness, calls it like he sees it. From my perspective if Trump can mouth off and say whatever he wants, and is applauded for it…then so can McCain

McCain is old, and has been a Senator for far too long. He comes off as bitter. He’s a detriment to the country and the Republican party. I am sure others feel differently. Apparently the voters of AZ do, which is frankly all he cares about most likely.

John McCain is an uber-hawk, while Rand Paul is an uber-dove. I’m glad neither one of them is in charge on the basis of their ideas concerning foreign policy.
That is accurate enough of a description to the consistency of their positions. I also would not want either as Commander-in-Chief. They can offer valuable contrarian opinions from time to time in the Senate.

Thanks for the list.

Very few of these are from news organizations; most are about things tweeted or things like TMZ, blogs, and some e-zines. I am sure that we could have a field day with the National Enquirer as well. So, sticking to serious news organizations:

Among the rest there are several unnecessarily sloppy errors. The worst, IMO is #4 CNN Nancy Sinatra, the # 12 FOX on the Iraqi immigrant; and #6 the TIME story of the MLK bust. And if you consider Politico as news organization #3 the 27 cent foreclosure.

The others are are weak, and do more to make the case that Trump people find anything critical are FAKE. The climate change on-line deletions (“purge”) , the state department resignations (“administrator” vs “manager”), wishing that people had passed on the “grizzly bear” gaffe, and wanting their own spin doctoring on some of the other stories. They may not like the stories and what people may infer from them, but that doesn’t make the stories fake or their publishers, enemies of the people. And the criticism of tweets as news? Risible. Too many tweets, not enough time (although I see FOX is now data-mining twitter for criticisms of Melania.)

You’ve done a great job, with the overreaching, to show that the Trump hard core will accept nothing other, and attack anything other than sycophancy.

Actually, TMZ was only listed in one story, the renaming of Black History Month, but that story was also carried by Yahoo News and the Washington DC CBS affiliate, among others. The rest of the stories cite Time, Washington Post, Associated Press, CNBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, and so on as sources. You’re the one who’s overreaching by using one mention of TMZ to attempt to discredit all the stories. Funny though, I don’t remember TMZ not being a credible source when they reported on Donald Trump grabbing women by the vagina.

McCain was in serious danger of losing the election last November. I wasn’t going to vote for him, but decided the other candidate was worse and voted for him anyway. I wish he would retire.

I did mention that there several stories that are from news organization that were wrong and disgracefully so. But there were tweets aplenty and e-material from entities that are not exactly news organizations - TMZ is just one of several discussed in the article.

The stretch that I mentioned is that most of the actual news stories from actual news organizations are simply articles that some partisans would prefer to have been spun more favorably. In number of cases the articles are presented as saying something other than what they actually said in order to build a case. These news stories from news organizations are not examples of FAKE NEWS, they are just unwelcome stories, mixed with a bare few solid examples, and bulked up with a bunch of tweets and blogs in order to make the problem seem huge.

This is pretty much what I suspected. But thanks for making it clear.

Really? You never heard criticism of Hillary? Power outage?

Hillary and the press thought she had the win in the bag. She even had the fireworks planned in advance.

the Clintion’ and the press are still in shock.
