The reality though, is that they sin in other ways–by contributing to the unhealthy eating habits of millions of people–worldwide–and by serving foods that are bathed in who knows what? Not oils that you and I cook with–they sin by contributing to the sin of gluttony, etc…

I highly recommend the movie, Supersize Me…it will give an eye opening view of McDonald’s…and how they really could care less about what they’re putting into their foods. Have I eaten at McDonald’s? Yes, I have…and it tastes good, too. But, they put so many things in their foods to get people ‘addicted’ to their foods…not unlike nicotine added cigarettes that tobacco companies use to get their customers addicted. After reading about them, corporately, they sound like just another greedy company out to make money…and out to harm the public.

So, their support of something ELSE immoral is par for the course, when I look at a chain like McDonald’s.

This thread is making me sick. And many want to call themselves Catholic? Excuse me! the last time I looked there is more in our catechism and Catholic teaching besides admonish the sinner! AND furthermore there is nothing that I know of in our Catholic teaching that says “don’t let gays get jobs or have any rights” For the love of God people!
In his reply Bishop Fiorenza confirmed that “the Catholic Church teaches that, while the homosexual orientation is not in itself sinful, `homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered,’” because such activity “cannot fulfill the twofold purpose of sexuality in the God-given order of creation – to build up the community of love between a wife and husband and to enable them to be co-creators with Him in bringing children into the world.”
However, Bishop Fiorenza, pointed out that "the Catholic Church also teaches that homosexual persons `must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided,’" as stated in The Cathechism of the Catholic Church ( paragraph 2358).
** “Catholics who do not observe this teaching are not in accord with the mind and the heart of the Church,” he added**.
The above I pulled from our own! usccb.org/comm/archives/2000/00-286.htm

What the catechism says!
2333
“)”>2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. **Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. **Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.
2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
2347
>2359
Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.
Also another teaching that might be helpful for some!
**Corporal and Spiritual works of mercy. **The traditional enumeration of the corporal works of mercy is as follows:
  • To feed the hungry;
  • To give drink to the thirsty;
  • To clothe the naked;
  • To harbour the harbourless;
  • To visit the sick;
  • To ransom the captive;
  • To bury the dead.
    The spiritual works of mercy are:
  • To instruct the ignorant;
  • To counsel the doubtful;
  • To admonish sinners;
  • To bear wrongs patiently;
  • To forgive offences willingly;
  • To comfort the afflicted;
  • To pray for the living and the dead.
Good Lord, this person comes into this thread and makes a list of the wrongs that are done to them which by the way go completely against our faith!! And no one says anything :confused::(This is very sad indeed and painful to see.

I’m part of the ‘gay agenda’ you might say. I would like the following to not happen any more. Note all of these have happened to me, personally, before.

I would very much like these types of things to STOP. I don’t think these are special rights. I just want to work, live and make money like everyone else, but apparently that’s a special right.
I apologize for no one at least acknowledging the amount of pain you have gone through with the obvious discrimination in the things you listed. I am sorry you have been treated horribly. There frankly is no excuse other than ignorance and fear. Those things should stop and you have every right to the same protection under our law that anyone else does.

You have my heartfelt prayers.

I guess they’re just searching for ‘equality’ when they force the schools to teach four-year-olds the joys and wonders of homosexual acts of perversion.
Excuse me where does this happen? Source please? This sounds like far right fringes paranoia rubbish!

I’m part of the ‘gay agenda’ you might say. I would like the following to not happen any more. Note all of these have happened to me, personally, before.

1.) Had companies do investigations of my background, out me, and fire me as a result

2.) Assault and battery for being ‘my kind’.

3.) Have the cops LAUGH at me and call my a ‘bleeping’ queen when I reported the incident above.

4.) Have emergency personnel refuse to touch me.

5.) Have emergency personnel laugh at me while semi-conscious when they saw the state of my ambiguous sexual characteristics.

6.) Not be thrown out by my landlord on the street because ‘all queers are drug addicts’.

7.) Not have insurance continually denied because my ‘lifestyle’ brings along too many medical expenses.

8.) Mocked and shunned to the point of feeling unwelcome at multiple Catholic Churches.

9.) Have my partner be able to visit me in the hospital. Contrary to people saying ‘no one would do that!’. They do it ALL THE TIME. Out of every non-straight couple I think half of them I know have been stopped visitation in the hospital.

10.) Be able to visit my partner in the hospital, his family has put a restraining order out against me, despite his verbal, written and prior statements to the contrary.

I would very much like these types of things to STOP. I don’t think these are special rights. I just want to work, live and make money like everyone else, but apparently that’s a special right.
I’m sorry for these things, pathia:( --It is hard to believe that in our day and age, bigotry has taken new levels and heights. I agree on the level that no person–should be discriminated against–at work or otherwise. In MA, they have made it a law I believe for at least transgendered people to not be fired due to their identity. Think I heard that last week, week before. I am not sure why there are not laws in place for your situation. I’m sorry again, pathia.

Okay, so in this thread we aren’t discussing “the gay agenda”, but the agenda of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, is that right?
I guess so. If their agenda is just to further business-ownership by gay and lesbians, it isn’t the “gay agenda” that most people are concerned about. Again, it seems like a strange thing to feel a need for. I know of gay businness owners, and I don’t know of any impediments to ownership due to being gay.

If some of you know that the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce has some other nefarious agenda (e.g. education of school children about homosexuality at an inappropriate grade level), then let me know. Otherwise, I take it on its face - a group who is interested in helping gay and lesbian business owners. There is nothing anti-Catholic or anti-Christian about a homosexual person owning and operating a business.

I’m sorry man

I feel your pain
😦

I was assaulted for wearing makeup and lipstick, they said I was a “freak”

You know I love ya, but I completely disagree with your assessment of McDonald’s food. Supersize Me might just as well have been made my Michael Moore!

Besides, it’s not meant to be eaten three times a day, every day! Hello! Personal responsibility, party of one! And you can’t equate serving a simple little burger with the sin of homosexuality.

Well, maybe some people can, but…

THANK YOU for your support 😃

Someone’s got it right here besides the suffering individuals… :rolleyes:

**Whatever happened to discretion?
WHY can’t they keep it in the bedroom?
WHY must it be in my face?

Why do MY children have to see it?**

They, they, they. It’s always they. I am discrete. I do not discuss my sex life with my coworkers, I do not discuss anything involving my gender identity, or my intersexism at work either.

They actively sought it out with a background check and terminated me for it when they found the switches and modifications of my identity documents. ie: driver’s id, social security card and birth certificate.

The only reason I am even willing to discuss these issues here is because this place is anonymous. No on here knows my actual identity, it is safe to do so, and people are more than capable of simply not reading my posts if they wish.

Whether you keep it in the bedroom or not, in the closet or not, homosexuality is still a mortal sin. You are putting your ‘loved one’s’ soul in jeopardy as well as your own.

Once more, it is NOT kindness nor charity to confirm a sinner in his sin.

There are no special programs to promoting heterosexual sexual behavior in the workplace, in public schools, on college campuses, and in the media.

Yes there is, it’s called sex-ed.

None in college? There’s TONS of programs promoting heterosexual sex all over college. It’s absolutely RIFE with it, have you stepped foot on a college campus in the last twenty years?

There are official college clubs for ‘swinging’ and BDSM and various other sexual proclivities, all aimed at heterosexuals.

None in the media? What do you call prime time television programs like “sex in the city?”

Dear pathia,
you are apparently not who I’m speaking of.
Everyone should be discrete. Nobody’s sexual behavior should be publicized.

I have two lesbian sisters. One is very private. The other is an in your face, beligerent activist. The one who is private is offended by the other, as well as all the public indiscretions of the pro-gay movement. Yet the beligerent sister is the one who is paid for her “in your face” angry activism.

May I ask how the lawsuit turned out? If you were fired for legally changing your name, I would imagine you’d have a good case. On the other hand if you falsified those documents, you were fired for that, not for “being gay”.

What’s wrong with that?

So, should gays never own a bussiness or have a lively hood? :confused:

They can’t recieve commuion my friend if they are practicing homosexuals, but they can get jobs, sheesh :rolleyes:
Exactly, WND articles posted here by a now moderated member are quite deviance and full of homophobia of the worst kind. As a source, WND takes extreme stances in their flame-inducing arguments.
