So how is it any different to the numerous times in Exodus God hardens the hearts of Pharoah and his officials? Or the prayer in Lamentations for God to cast a veil over the hearts of his enemies as they deserve?
Questions are not the answer to questions.

Please answer the question without asking a question.

I will answer the question above. God hardening Pharaoh’s heart does not condemn anyone to hell for all eternity. It says nothing of Pharaoh’s eternal status or the eternal status of any of his followers. For all we know, Pharaoh is in heaven. If he is in hell, it is because of his own doing, not God’s.

The prayer of a human being is not the action of God. I think that you know that.

there is not many here and a few that post seem to be sock puppets. You wont get a very good perspective on a christian board
But I am sure you know that! thats why people post Islamic questions here…you get to hear what you want to here…
That’s like asking why you continually defend Islam and add

Of course I know that Islam teaches those who reject him will go to Hell, that’s exactly what I said. I’m just pointing out that this is hardly something exclusive to Islam. Does Christianity teach that those who reject Jesus (as) will go to Heaven?
Check out Romans 2 to see what St. Paul said

And I know there are major differences between the Qur’an and the Bible Jack (I’ve read it several times, NIV mostly though, which I’m aware Catholics aren’t too fond of), but apart from the divinity given to Jesus (as) in some parts of the New Testament, the message they promote are more or less the same, which is the important thing.
Nah. The message between the NT and the Quran varies greatly. The amount of similarites are minute at best. For instance the quran claims that Jesus wasn’t crucified and that Allah is the biggest deciever of all. The New Testament is all about Jesus cruicifixtion which the tenent of Christian faith and states God doesn’t decieve.

well, as to the former, Pharoah’s heart is only hardened from the 5the plague on. ANd this is punishment for the crime that was already committed – enslaving of Israel for 400 years. And when the Egyptians drown, God admonishes the heavenly court for singing when so many of His creations have been destroyed.

As to the later. it is uttered at a time when all of Israel lay desolate at the hands of its enemies. It is a cry from the pit of dispair.

You are certainly grossly misinformed. Where did you find such a wretched opinion, and why did you follow it?

Wouldn’t it be funny if in retelling a religion you don’t believe in, you intentionally decieve other people :clapping:

No room for such language.

The Koran clearly says that someone else was put in Jesus’ place and that Allah caused people to believe it was Jesus - in other words Allah deceived/tricked people.

[4.157] And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the apostle of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure.

YUSUFALI: That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah”;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
PICKTHAL: And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah’s messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.
SHAKIR: And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the messenger of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure.

Unless you want to offer up who ‘caused’ the ‘appearence’ to be different is someone other than Allah, you need to withdraw your objection

No, that is what the Koran says. What makes you think otherwise?

My husband , who is from Pakistan was taught that Judas died in his place.
Dont know if that is in the quran or if its just what they believe.

Robert Satloff, executive director of the Washington Institute, an expert on US Middle East policy, and author of “Among the Righteous: Lost Stories from the Holocaus’s Long Reach into Arab Lands,” will disuss “THe Role Arabs played in Saving Jews From the Holocaust”… Also appearing will be Faiza Abdelwahhab, the daughter of Khaled Abdelwahhab, the first-ever Arab to be nominated for recognition as a “righteous among the nations” by Yad Vashem, the Israeli Holocaust memorial authority. The honor is given to non-Jews who saved Jews during the Holocaust.

Assuming this arab was muslim, I’d say these are acts of mercy.

As for the original point in this thread, that because “Allâh leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills” there is no Mercy in Islam…

Well, does that mean there is also no Mercy in Christianity because 2Thessalonians 2:11,12 says “And for this cause, God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the Truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” ?

No, of course, the Most High is extremely Merciful. It’s just that He will not continually extend His Mercy to those who deny His signs in order to persist in their unbelief. He will eventually lead such people astray by sending them strong delusion and that fact is proclaimed in all His revelations to mankind.

No, the Quran does not say that someone else was crucified in Jesus’ stead, despite that implication being inserted in several English translations by various translators.

There are several conflicting theories among Muslims as to who exactly was crucified-- most believe it was a disciple of Jesus who volunteered to be substituted, others believe Judas was crucified, others believe it was Simon of Cyrene, others even believe it was Barabbas (name translation: the son of the father)-- but NONE of these theories is specified as reality by the Quran text.

What the Quran DOES specify is this

According to a strict Arabic understanding 4:157 says:

*‘wal[a]kin shubbiha lahum’ *(but instead it was made to appear to them as such)

‘wa-inna alla[th]eena ikhtalafoo feehi lafee shakkin minhu’ (and those who differed in his identity follow conjecture…)

Feehi means in WHO he was, in his identity, in his persona.

The New Testament ALSO indicates a change of persona in the person who was crucified:

John 1:14 teaches that “the Word was made flesh”.

However, some New Testament verses “stand out like a sore thumb” in describing what was slain on the cross, in opposition to the Word-made-flesh PURE nature of Yahshua, these verses describe a definite change in identity that took place on or before the cross :

2Corinthians 5:21 “God made Yahshua to be SIN”

(If Allah made Jesus to BE sin, as the Bible says, then it was not the holy prophet Jesus who died on the cross, it was the body of sin.)

Romans 6:6 “our old man is crucified with, that the body (slave) of sin might be destroyed”

Colossians 2:14 ~“the writ (legal document) of our transgressions against the Law was nailed to the cross”~

Ephesians 2:16 “enmity to the law was slain on the cross”

Romans 8:3 “the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh”

All of those verses indicate that it was NOT the Word made flesh that died on the cross, but something else entirely: sin, enmity, transgression against the Word.

Thus the Quran is proven accurate in its minute commentary on the crucifixion: it appeared that the Jews crucified Jesus, but there was a change in his persona which they failed to discern.

Likewise, anyone else who fails to discern that change is liable to end up calling one or another of Allah’s Revelations a lie. Be careful, believers, that you receive the Love of the Truth so as not to fall into strong delusion.

Lol, now that is amusing. Ever hear of 2 natures in 1 Person? Guess not. This muslim shows total ignorance that we believe Jesus was both God and man. Hence he doesn’t understand the very scriptures he quotes and equates them with the falsehoods of the quran. Typical.

2 natures in one person?

You mean you believe that Jesus was both holy AND unholy at the same time?

You don’t believe that a change was made in his persona when he was “made to be sin” ?

Surely you don’t mean that you think Jesus (as) was God ?!!

He himself addressed the Father as “the ONLY true God” and specified that the Father is “my God and YOUR God” (John 17:3, 20:17.

You ought not to contradict Jesus with your own personal interpretations.
