MERGED: Assumption of Mary on a Monday/Obligation?

Luckily I work near a Catholic church, so today I went there at lunch hour and observed Mass for the Assumption of Mary. I’m glad that I can attend these holy days, whether they are obligatory or not!
 
To those who answered my question thank you very kindly.

Now, I understand I was a bit confused over this because last year I couldn’t make it and someone sarcastically said, “Poor excuse…I hope Mary forgives you.”

Yes, I did explain this to a Priest who in turn gave me a really good explantion as to why my explantion wasn’t poor like the person who stated this.

Whether there is Mass or not let us keep Our Blessed Mother close to our heart.

If you do happen to go to Mass please remember all of our intentions on CAF.

I am going to a Tridentine High Mass at 7:30 PM this evening, at this church. I shall indeed pray for CAF intentions.
