This is the verse I was commenting on…(Joh 20:17) Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

I was saying that Jesus could not have gone to paradise for Jesus says Himself that " I am not yet ascended to my father". To me this would indicate that Jesus had not yet ascended.
Who said He went there? Jesus said that he would SEE the good thief in paradise not meet him. Do you really believe that the unascended Jesus who is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit could not have seen the good thief in paradise? Of course He could.

nicely put! 👍

oh one more thing richard my friend. do you believe in the doctrine of the trinity? the word does not even appear in the bible. and there is far more evidence of a concious existence after death, in the bible, than there is for the trinity. would you abandon the doctrine of the trinity, since it is not stated in the bible? plenty of bible only people come to the conclusion the trinity is not biblical. what makes you right? Peace

moses was not in a ressurected body. jude does not say this. nor has anybody in Church history claimed this. this is simply attempting to force scripture to fit your claims. what about the 24 elders in revelation who are in the presence of God? what about the great cloud of witnesses found in hebrews? there is so much to dispute the soul sleep scheme, its amazing anyone would ever believe it. it was not even taught in christianity before Adventism was founded. show me some theological proof, from any time before E.G. White, that this was taught in any denomination. better yet. find me one Catholic theologian from any era, that taught this doctrine? ill be happy to examine it. the bible totally contradicts your founders theory. this is why i have come to the conclusion that the Adventist do not believe the the bible, but simply their founders interpretation of it. again it is a matter of authority. i have also played this citing game with you before richard. you never really do answer. i would be wasting time i dont have. i have given paraphrased passages to you. you know where these passages are. i see no need to “prove” my biblical knowlege to you, by quoting chapter and verse. incidentally, chapter and verse didnt come along for many years after the bible was finally completed. and the Jews didnt do it until later than that. peace
Ok, peace brother.

Does Hell exist? the answer has to be NO

Why would God create a furnace to burn his creations,
God is about love and peace,
What if God didn’t create it, but demons and fallen souls do?
Maybe the “furnace” that burns them IS the fires of God’s love and peace, beating down on them forever…

What bible do you study with?

This is why we have to turn to scripture to know the truth of His word. Sometimes, we want to “see” things in scripture to please our our needs.

Please read carefully the following verse and then see if you would both respond the same as you did in your responses above.

Luke 23:42 ( New Advent Bible) “And Jesus said to him: Amen I say to you: This day you shall be with me in paradise.”

KJV - (Luk 23:43) And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

You stated ]our “bodies” sleep until the ressurection, yes. i will agree with you on this.

but seeing how there is no credible evidence that moses was resurected, and did appear at the transfiguration, and seeing how samuel, did appear to saul.

My Reply Who spoke to Saul through the witch–a resurrected prophet of God, or a devil in disguise?
(1Ki 22:22) And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
(Rev 16:14) For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles…

What does God say about spirits,
(1Ti 4:1) Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

This spirit of Samuel is the working of Satan.

Interesting to note that the following day Saul’s sons were slain by the Philistines.

**You stated **

and seeing how it is written in hebrews that we have a great cloud of witnesses

,

**My reply ** (Heb 12:1) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

This verse is not talking about souls in heaven, but about the faithful ones in history that surround us. People assume that cloud of witnesses, are souls. This is a very stretch of the imagination.

**You stated **

and seeing how it is written in revelation, that the souls of the martyrs cried out for justice to God,

**My reply ** lets continue this verse to see the whole picture…(Rev 6:10) And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

If this verse is taken literal, how could ALL the souls that were martyred for Jesus fit under an altar. But, more amazing is why would souls in heaven, being in a sinless state, want revenge on they that dwell upon the earth. Wanting revenge is a sin.

**You stated **

and seeing how the people gathered for prayer for peter, thought it was his “angel” at the door, and not peter in the flesh, after he had been released from prison,

**My reply ** I am not sure of the verses

**You stated **

and seeing how stephen, when he was about to die, looked up, and saw Christ, and stated, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge, and gave up the ghost

,

**My reply ** (Act 7:59) And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. (Act 7:60) And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Stephen said receive my spirit. Stephen’s spirit is going back to God as the scriptures say…(Ecc 12:7) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Also notice, that Stephen “fell asleep”. The scriptures could have read, gone to heaven, or, went to be with the Lord, or gone to paradise, etc.

**You stated **

i would have to say you are wrong about what the bible has to teach about this issue.

**My reply ** I think we can see by really seeing what the verses read, not just “a” verse, but the whole context of a verse, gives us a good understanding.

**You stated **

not to mention, only the Church that Christ has provided, can rightly interperet the bible. it is not for individual interpretation, and never was meant to be. not for israel, and not for us either. it is a matter of who your authority is. your authority is derived from yourself. that my friend is no authority at all.

**My reply ** Wow, very strong statement. I disagree with you based on what the bible has to say…(2Pe 1:20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

**You stated **

we need to have a proper authority over us. that proper authority is the Church Christ has established. and the successors of the apostles whom he appointed. peace 🙂

My reply The proper authority and only authority over us in understanding scripture is the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, informing us, providing us with the true meaning of God’s word. Listening to any Priest, Pastor, Minister or any church doctrine is below the authority of the Holy Spirit that provides us with the light of His word.

If the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are truly one then there is absolutely no problem about Jesus not having ascended when He told the ‘good thief’ that on the day of the crucifixion they would be together in paradise. I really don’t see your problem.

Does Hell exist? the answer has to be NO

Why would God create a furnace to burn his creations,
God is about love and peace,
The creature makes the decision to separate him/herself from God, it’s called free will and it is a gift from the same God who will not take it away. The Church teaches the reality of hell and we would be very unwise to gainsay the Church Jesus founded. If the miracle of Fatima occurred as confirmed by thousands of witnesses then what She said was true and this included a warning not only that hell is real but that many souls go there.

Read what the scriptures say, not what you want to believe, or because what you were told.

It is very difficult for us humans to admit when we are wrong.

this verse is very clear. No one has a “problem”. I believe Jesus when He said that he has not ascended to His Father after his resurrection.

Does hell exist today?
Suggested reading: The Rite, the making of an Exorcist by Matt Baglio.

It gives accounts of actual exorcisms and revelations during exorcisms by the evil spirits. I learned a lot from it.It is a very eye opening book about the dark side.

Does the Catholic church still train priests to become exorcists?

Who is the mediator in a exorcism?

Who is the mediator in a exorcism?
Of course it does. Only if Hell shut down would there be no further need for exxorcism.

The “mediator” would be the priest performing the exorcism.

Does hell exist today?
Yes. So does the Dark one…Suggested reading: “The Rite-the making of an exorcist” by Matt Baglio. It follows the story and experiences of an american priest sent to Rome to train to be one. While training, he participated in actual exorcisms, gaining him knowledge about hell and the Dark one…and how to protect oneself.

What hooked me was the Prologue, which deals with an actual account of an exorcism, wherein St Gemma Galgani, who I learned later was a Stigmatic, Mother Teresa and JP II come down from Heaven to assist, then the BVM appears too. I will leave at that…

“Is there a hell?”

Some students on my campus were going around asking that to people while giving out candy. I mistakenly went in for what I thought was free, no questions asked, candy. Just as I popped the snickers into my mouth they said, “Wait! Answer the question!” I said, “A world without candy would be hell…” and walked off.

Who is the mediator in a exorcism?
Yes, there is a program in Rome to train exorcists. In fact, the story is about an american priest who was sent there to train. It was not long when he got back that he had deal with a case right away.

What do you mean by mediator? The priest is the exorcist. But there is heavenly help, as you will see from the book.

Another thing I learned, the Dark One’s minions fear the BVM the most…why…it is in the book.

Your question is answered in the book “The Rite” by matt baglio. You will not be surprised at the answer.
