I looked up the local radio station which carried the Michael Savage show. In Chicago it’s dsantrella@salemradiochicago.comWhere did you send it?
Thanks for the info. I have sent a letter to my local radio station that broadcasts his show and to the local Catholic Diocese calling for a full boycott of that station by all Catholics in the area. It probably won’t go anywhere, but at least I feel I did something about it.I looked up the local radio station which carried the Michael Savage show. In Chicago it’s dsantrella@salemradiochicago.com
I sent an email to the VP of the local station that carries the show and informed him that I will be boycotting all programming and advertisers until Savage publicly apologizes. I’m not holding my breath, but I had to do it.Thanks for the info. Well, if there were no illegals, who would flip his burger?I’m pretty conservative politically ~ and I often agree with him. But I listening to him a long time ago because of his dark tone and his anger… it’s just not good for me.
I’m glad I didn’t hear him today, but just add him to the long list of catholic haters.
Illegal immigration is his #1 pet peeve.
That’s too bad, Bill Donohoe was a good guest on Savage. I’m pretty surprised he would go this far with his Catholic rant. I could handle his rants on the more “liberal” proponents of the Church, it was painful to have things exposed, but I believe he was speaking truth, but this is too much.Catholic League president Bill Donohue responded as follows:
“I was scheduled to be on with Mike Savage the day he savaged the Catholic Church and made bigoted comments about Latinos. But in the pre-interview—which occurred just a half hour before Savage went ballistic—I let a producer know that I did not share the host’s position; after he checked with Savage, I was told they would not have me on the show. That was fine, but what is not fine is Savage’s diatribe about the ‘greedy pigs’ in the Catholic Church and how ‘the institution is rotten from the top to the bottom.’ He owes all Catholics an apology.”
I dont care for him or his show.I really don’t listen to this show on any regular basis. I had to pick my son up from track tonight. I heard about 10 minutes, and Michael Savage said the Catholic Church instigated the Immigration protests in California. He was rambling, but he mentioned the priest scandal, greed, and corruption. He was on a rant. I turned it off, but did anyone else hear any of this and is he usually anti Catholic like he was today?
Just a follow-up. Here is the response I received from a rep at my local broadcasting company that airs “Savage Nation”. I also received a response from my local Diocese and was told they have received other complains, but no words on any statements or actions. Thanks for the info. I am also a catholic and have been for my entire life of 47 years.(Lucky me… fortunately, the guilt has lessened through the years, especially since Latin is no longer used and I can understand the Sunday service) I do, as a choice, not pay any attention to views and opinions expressed by Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Katie Couric, Louis Farrakan, Al Franken, Michael Moore, Pat Robertson, Martha Stewart, Barry Bonds,Brittney Spears, any politician, sports figure ,celebrity, etc. It saves me a tremendous amount of time by not paying any attention to the paid entertainers, out to create controversy and provocative talk radio, racy movies, or “interesting” prime time prime television. I simply view it as entertainment…good, bad, boring, indifferent, etc. You are certainly within your personal rights to boycott the radio station and encourage others to do so. That’s the beauty of living in America.(Well…sort of…chances are, we live here solely by the the shear luck of being born here.)Freedom of choice, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, radio, etc… The Michael Savage show is broadcast worldwide and we have no control over the content.( He also has a disclaimer that the views expressed are not the views of Citadel Broadcasting. They are his. You may want to contact him directly to get an entire list of stations to boycott, in addition to our station .You may also be able to get a complete transcript of the entire broadcast. Our advertising revenue is always in jeopardy because we work in the free enterprise system of business. Free enterprise allows for a “better mousetrap” and business success or failure, built on the premise of competition. I have personal and private religious beliefs that may be in conflict with the entertainment business. However, I choose not boycott or threaten companies or individuals associated with entertainment conglomerates when I hear, read, or see something contrary to my tastes, beliefs, or values. I wouldn’t know where to begin. I hear what you’re saying, but did not hear the bit you’re referring to. More power to you. Good luck on your crusade and thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut!
Any respectable Catholic would have been offended at his rant. I turned it off and I wrote an email of complaint. I will never listen to him again even for a few minutes.Wow - Not having heard it myself, I have to take your word. Sounds like if I did hear it I would have done the same thing. That’s too bad.
Anna Elizabeth:
Iam waiting for a response to anti-islams declerations. (Where are all of the Lib Catholics when you need them!Satire? You must be kidding! Or perhaps you don’t know what satire is? Shouldn’t use the word then.
Please let us not falter upoun communication skills. You understood my intent yet dismissed it involuntarily.
I agree that his perspective was belittling! BUT IF WE DO NOT LEACH TO SAVAGE AS OUR POLITICAL REPRESENATIVE. THEN WHOM??? LETS REMEMBER THAT THIS PROBLEM IS RECIPROCATING. ARE LIBERAL BISHOPS ARE ERODING THE OPERATION OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND ITS CONVICTIONS. WHY OUR WE OUTRAGED AT SAVAGE WHEN OUR BISHOPS OUR SUBVERTING WHAT WE HOLD DEARSET TO OUR HEARTS. I BELIEVE SAVAGE COULD BE A FRIEND NOT A FOE! THE BISHOPS INCITED THIS FREY. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED NOR SHOULD WE GRANT AMNESTY TO THE 11MILLION CRIMINALS THAT ARE HERE. THAT IS THE CATHOLIC CHURCH"S STANCE. THE AUTHORITY DERIVES FROM GOD. IF I AM MISTAKEN I WOULD LOVE SOMEONE TO CORRECT ME!
CRUSADE!
Absolutely! His name says it all! I listened to him for all of about 2 programs and couldn’t take it anymore. My husband and I kept looking at each other and saying, “Is this guy crazy?” I have never listened to him since. I happen to be a conservative who loves talk radio, political discourse, and good satire but Savage fits none of those categories. Whoever called him the ‘right’s Al Franken’ was dead on!He is constantly on rant.
Michael Savage is the equivalent on the right to the hate mongers on the left. If you are not in lockstep with him, you are a liberal.
I cannot even listen to the sewage than comes from him.
