I’m sure the Doctors did not leave a dead rotting organ inside of your son

If the organ was absolutely dead, with no blood flow, I assure you, it would have been removed by the surgeons.
Phantasm this is where you as an atheist show your true ignorance. Let me repeat. My son had to undergo a gamma knife treatment after they removed the brain tumor. The pituitary gland was not dead yet. The reason for using gamma knife treatments is due to the high risk of performing a total resection of the tumor upon initial surgery. The mortality rate is over 50%.

Once the gamma knife treatment is used the radiation is so powerful that it literally kills the pituitary gland. That’s why my son started having major issues with his thyroid levels, urinary output regulation etc. etc. The pituitary gland was fried. Right before this past Christmas we noticed that my son started to require less of the medication that regulated his urinary output. He has to see his Endocrinologist quarterly to review blood levels. After this past visit to their pleasant surprise they noticed they were able to reduce his meds. In reviewing the blood work the Endocrinologist came right out and said that the pituitary gland started to function again.

It appears you can assure me nothing as this ridiculous post only demonstrates your absolute stupidity in the medical field  Would you like to try and come up with another creative explanation to deny GOD exists?? 🍿

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for all of the (name removed by moderator)ut. Let’s try to keep to the original topic which is sharing “miracles” that happen in our different religions. If you want to discuss the validity of God or a certain church please start a new thread.

God Bless,

Jessica

I was curious if other religions (Protestants, Hindu, etc.) have “miraculous” occurances. I’m wanting to test a theory that I have.
Pentecostals claim miracles all the time. Many other modern evangelical Protestants also report miracles, though in Protestantism as a whole (probably in our culture as a whole) there’s a very fuzzy line between miracles and “special providences.” Historically Protestants have not claimed that miracles still, but this changed for many Protestants in the 19th century.

And certainly you have miraculous claims in Hinduism and other non-Christian religions.

Edwin

Snert I disagree completely. You can’t even begin to compare a miraculous healing with levitation. What does levitation prove anyway? That could easily be satan. Please also tell me what church has had bread and wine turn into literal flesh and blood. Aside from Lanciano that is. We haven’t seen anything like that for centuries which is why over 50% of Catholics don’t even believe in transubstantiation anymore. As far as incorruptibles the bodies are embalmed and kept in air-tight containers. It’s no surprise they would still look well preserved. That doesn’t prove a miracle happened.

Like I said to Jag the miracles reported by Protestants seem to be much different than Roman Catholics. Makes you wonder why.
Bodies that have survived intact for hundreds of years are merely “embalmed”? If that was the case, where are all the other “embalmed” bodies that show no decay for hundreds upon hundreds of years?

Catholics have miracles of healing all the time, especially with the annointing of the sick, but those are not publicised.

True, levitation can be from another source, so can bilocation, healing, etc… But the point is the Catholic saints displaying these things were holy.

The miracles that I hear of healing from Protestants are no different from the common miracles I hear in Catholicism. I hear of miraculous healing given after the annointing of the sick quite frequently. And it’s always told to me in a matter-of-fact way. No hoopla behind it.

How can levitation, bread turning into flesh (and BTW, that video I saw of it happening was obviously not thousands of years old. It was from India in the last 20 or 30 years. So that theory that it hasn’t happened in thousands of years doesn’t quite cut it), etc, compare? Well the way I see it, miracle is unexplainable. Anything that has been scientifically studied and come up empty as to a cause for it is a miracle in my book. Stigmata may simply be a “ploy” to some people, but to others it is a miracle. Either way, if the incident is studied and re-studied ad nauseum and no explanation is concluded, then it’s up to the person to believe it or not. Faith is not for the faint hearted.

Although I have to admit, any “miracle” can be faked, but that’s where faith comes in. Including today’s healing miracles which may indeed have a very valid reason for healing that no one seems to see at the time. You have faith that those were miracles. So do I in the ones I believe.

So someday we may be proven wrong. That just shows that we are human.

16,000 children die of starvation everyday of the year and you folk are getting excited about the Creator of the Universe healing someones chronic back pain?

Ya know, when you put it in THAT prospective, you could say that about everything that we get excited about …

Please don’t get silly with people’s conversations, just because they talk about miracles doesn’t mean that they don’t give a you know what about children starving…

It’s better than getting excited over a video game.

Yes, no God, means that a human life should be no more important then a cute little bunny rabbit, or my sweet beagle.
Sad that you need a God to tell you that human life is above that of a dog.

Sad that you need a God to tell you that human life is above that of a dog.
Phantasm, God is the best physician in the world. Where and how do you think these doctors work? By the Grace of God. Without God, you are nothing. Everything you do and say on your journey here is from God. Like it or not, so are you. There are reasons why some are healed while others are not. Satan roams the earth too and everybody blames God, but no one blames the devil.
If it is in His will, you will get cured. To actually see a limb growing on someone is not faith because faith is not seeing but believing.

The Hindu Milk Miracle. 🙂 I thought that was pretty neat.

Believe what you want, but your sons recovery appears to have been a statistical certainty. I however will not believe your exaggerated and fantastical tales of how the Creator of the Universe personally intervened to assist your son, yet ignored those 16,000 children who starved to death.

One fact about all types of secretory tumors is that complete control of hormone overproduction does not occur immediately. Control of hormone overproduction may take several months to two or three years or more.

Gamma Knife focused radiation should be considered part of the pattern of care for patients with secretory and non-secretory pituitary tumors with the goal of controlling and eventually curing the problem. Part of the comprehensive approach to the care of a patient with pituitary disease is regular endocrine monitoring. Since there is a risk of development of pituitary hormone deficiency, every patient should be monitored regularly and appropriate hormone replacement instituted if a hormone deficiency develops. Another important part of follow up is an MRI scan to measure the size of the residual tumor or pituitary gland. Although uncommon, a few patients who have had any type of pituitary radiation may have growth of the tumor, which may require additional surgery. In essence, all patients who have had a pituitary tumor require regular examinations, with particular attention to the need for hormone replacement and regular MRI studies to assess pituitary tumor size. With the proper combination of medical, surgical and radiation therapy, patients with a pituitary tumor should be able to lead a normal life and have a normal life expectancy.

Satan roams the earth too and everybody blames God, but no one blames the devil.
Blame God, he created the angel Lucifer, knowing full well he would rebel. Then God unleashed Satan upon the earth to prey upon his vulnerable children. God could have stuck Satan on some planet 50000 light years away, but nooooooooooo, he had to do it here.

Yes, if God is real, blame God or the Gods. ( whatever you believe)

Anyway, back on topic. There are no such thing as miracles, but if you want to believe that God helped you find a great parking spot, then go right ahead.

What is your problem? Perhaps if you believed in God you wouldn’t be so angry and bitter. There is much more for you out there than you realize.
God doesn’t make suffering **MAN DOES. **God gives us our own free will and it is up to us to do something about it. Man has caused evil in the world along with the help of satan, not God. It is man that caused this world to be so screwed up.

I did want to add here, that miracles, while wonderous for the person involved, are not given for that particular person. God gives us miracles for conversion of heart. That your son lived was wonderful and a gift to you from God, however, that miracle was given to him because God wanted others either who needed conversion or needed a jolt of faith added to what they already had. That is why a 300 year old incorruptable body is an inspiration of faith for those that know God did that, not humans. It did not last during a lifetime in which all who saw a particular healing happen became more strong in their faith, but it lasted during several lifetimes ensuring that future generations can see the wonderous Glory of God. In the case of bread turning into flesh and actually bleeding, usually, it was because an unbelieving priest offered mass, and to his and the congregation’s benefit, the bread changed to flesh. If that happened right before your eyes when you had doubts, I think that you’d be loathe to still have them afterwards.

Miracles are for the soul’s benefit, not the body… although in many many cases, restored health also gives the reciever more faith as well, giving them the an added benefit.

… 16,000 children who starved to death.
First lie, do the math. 16,000 children everyday is 5,840,000 children every year. You are making everything up and have nothing to back that up with. I might have believed it if you had said 16,000 people, but children specifically is impossible. Not one single organization in the world whose mission is to feed the hungry has ever put out such a ridiculous claim.

You don’t believe in God because you see evil in the world. Oldest heresy in the book. Aquainus refuted that centuries ago. God does not cause suffering. He tolerates it because in His wisdom, He can bring a greater good out of evil.

What happens around the world is only our problem as long as we are in a position to do something about it. Most of us cannot do that on our own, hence, the existence of charities.

Jesus healed people only after they affirmed their belief in him. That doesn’t mean it can’t happen elsewhere, but we as Christians have our instructions.

More to follow…

What is your problem?
I don’t have a problem per say, but I do take issue with people who find supernatural miracles in the most mundane and predictable aspects of their lives.
Perhaps if you believed in God you wouldn’t be so angry and bitter
When I was a believer I was racked with anxiety and fear. Do not confuse my cynicism and skepticism towards religion as anger and bitterness.
God doesn’t make suffering **MAN DOES. **
God created everything in the universe, including suffering and evil. God also created the black plague, chrones disease, gestational trophoblastic disease, ad infinitum…
Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create the darkness, I make well-being and create woe; I, the LORD, do all these things.
…please read your Bible, it is painfully clear that God created evil, as God is the creator of all.
God gives us our own free will and it is up to us to do something about it. Man has caused evil in the world along with the help of satan, not God. It is man that caused this world to be so screwed up.
God created Satan, knowing that he would rebel.

God sent Satan to earth, knowing he would prey upon his children.

God created man, knowing that man would sin.

God created man, instilled in him a curious nature and then condemned him for it. ( Don’t forget, God knew that Adam would eat the apple, what a quaint story)

Yet God did all of this anyway. ( I understand you don’t understand what omniscient means and I also understand that you will continue to bleat the free will mantra, while ignoring Gods omniscience.)

God is the original creator of all, therefor God is ultimately responsible. Are you really suggesting that the good Lord is passing the buck to a mere Angel and to his creation, man?

That would be like Honda creating a car filled with faults, and when the car crashes because of those faults.

I CAN IMAGINE THE PRESS CONFERENCE

Honda press release,"

It is not Hondas fault, it’s the cars fault, the driver should have controlled all the inherent faults in its construction.

We also place blame upon the mountain pass where the car crashed, for you must understand that this car was only supposed to look at mountain passes, not actually drive upon them. The owners manual was clear on this.

The mountain pass tempted the driver and the driver disobeyed the owners manual, which clearly stated, ’ do not drive on mountain passes’ and finally, we blame the driver for not stopping when the brakes failed!

Lastly, Honda states that we accept no responsibility for this cars demise, even though we had multiple reports indicating that this car would fail, blame is placed squarely upon the driver, the car and the mountain.

Honda will not be making comments at this time answering any questions about the reported fact that Honda did in fact build the road that lead directly to the mountain pass and placed the Honda dealership beside that mountain pass.

Read a newspaper, pick up a magazine, educate yourself, or at least do a freaking google search before you write such a nonsensical post.

Every day in the developing world,
30,100 children die from mostly preventable and treatable causes such as diarrhea, acute
respiratory infections or
malaria. Malnutrition is
associated with over half of those deaths
.

More than 800 million people in the world are
malnourished –
777 million of them are from the developing world. 177 million of them are children.

All this said from not being educated in the faith. Do you read? Because if you truly did read the bible as you say, you’d know why things happen in this world. Do you know any history of the church or are you just plain ignorant of it all?
Are you comparing Honda to our Lord? Good grief…🤷 If you want to learn something here at the forums, you need to stop being so rude and condescending. After all, it is a Catholic forum.
