Good grief, it wasn’t an analogy!

With regards to Benny Hinn, I’m just following your advice;

"Do not question God and why He does the things He does"

What’s amazing to me, is that you believe in the divine miracles of Lourdes, and likely every other Catholic miracle.

Yet if these miracles come from outside of your faith, such as in the case of Mr Hinn, the miracles are frauds!

What you fail to understand, is that your precious miracles are just as ludicrous to me, as Benny Hinn is to you.
Benny Hinn IS A FRAUD AND WAS PROVEN TO BE AS SUCH. He lives a lavish lifestyle in a gazillion dollar mansion, wears gazillion dollar suits and drives a Mercedes, one in which another he drives a Rolls Royce.
He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Lourdes has been proven to be true and accepted by the church.
Benny Hinn is being investigated. The Blessed Mother is not.

Isn’t the Popemobile a Mercedes M Class?

Doesn’t the Pope live in Vatican City, surrounded by priceless art?
😃

If the good Lord chooses to heal through Benny Hinn, then do not question, just accept.

You mistake my anger at a bronze aged desert God, over frustration at people who are willing to believe in supernatural miracles and all with the faintest bit of evidence.

The poster above is a prime example, his faiths miracles are real, but that Protestant preacher, why he`s just a fraud!
No, I didn’t even read that post. I’m referring to your posts on this and other threads in which you downright say God is evil and refer to him murdering people. When you speak of God in those threads, you have such an anger in the wording of those posts as to wonder what God ever did to you - or didn’t do.

That’s why I say you have an anger against a God that you claim not even to exist. I have doubts about what you say agreeing with what you believe. I’m also pretty sure others have those same doubts.

But that’s okay, I think you’re trying to prove (by observing arguments I and others have noticed) on these forums that we dont believe what we say. However, it’s apparent that the only one who’s seeing that is you. Whether you “slip us up” in things we say or not, the fact remains that you don’t present yourself as credible in your posts. The only thing you present yourself as is argumentative for argument’s sake.

I’d love to hear your view on cathopologist’s upbringing. I’d bet you’d say something like “oh yes, but your neigbors surely were Christian and had influenced you from day 1 so that it was all subliminal” or merely “you’re just part of a statistic” or even “your previous religion was similar to your current religion and you just picked up those similarities between the two and adapted them to fit your circumstance” or … well, the list could go on.

My point is even if we were to shove some absolutely irrefutable evidence in front of your nose, you’d pick a bone with it and dismiss it. What is your purpose on these forums, if I may be so bold as to ask for a direct and truthful answer? Perhaps we may be of actual assistance if you’d just tell us. Then again, if your motives are dubious, then we may have to decline on offering sincere help.

You made a comment directed at me, yet you didn’t even read the post.

Awfully presumptuous of you, no?

What is it that I’m doing here?

Why should I share a dialogue with you? You don’t even read my posts.

For one thing, we need to differentiate between “blessings” and “miracles”. Most of what most Protestants talk about as miracles are in fact blessings. If it can be attributed to a speeding up of the normal healing process, then that is a blessing. Miracles, from the Church’s viewpoint, are truly exceptional.

Burning & Bleeding Host of Betania

This is actually two miracles for the price of one. The first miracle is that actual Host. The priest had finished consecrating the host and had broken it prior to distributing communion. It started bleeding. The blood started pooling on the paten. The priest put the Host and the paten in the tabernacle and left it there overnight. The next morning, the blood was still there, and still fresh, so he put it in a monstrance to show to the people.

Fast forward a few years. Daniel Sanford was part of a pilgrim group to Betania, Venezuela to see the Host. He was videotaping the Mass, and at the end, the priest opened the tabernacle so people could see the Host. Amazingly, in the viewfinder of his video camera, he saw the host pulsing like a heart, with flames appearing. The thing is, no one else saw anything – it was only visible on the videotape. The video is on this web site, both regular speed and at half speed so you can see things more clearly.

I somehow don’t think the video falls into that 1% of natural events you were mentioning.

You keep proving yourself. Dodge questions, make people look like fools (to yourself only, by the way) and see where it gets you. 🤷

Oh, and by the way, no wonder you’re not Catholic anymore.

I don’t know, you tell me, you’re the one who came here of your own free will. Why don’t you clue us in.

If I didn’t read your posts, I wouldn’t have commented on them would I?

Oh, BTW, I figured you’d like the way I play your game. It’s exactly the way you play it.

I watched the video, I absolutely do not believe that the was the flesh of the son of the creator of the universe.

You do.

Not much more to say.

The rolls royce and the priceless art do not belong to the Pope.

Anyway, a wise man once said;

The question is: did the Good Lord choose Benny Hinn or did Benny Hinn choose God?

Have you checked out the “Lanciano miracle and the World Health Organization” on Google?

I was born a Brahmin - studied in a Presbyterian missionary school (both primary and secondary) and remained a Brahmin - although by the time of my O Levels (roughly at 17 years old) i was already a non-practising Brahmin and an Atheist by then.

Born and raised in Singapore of Brahmin parents originally from Uttar Pradesh, India. Prior to my conversion, i was already through the “angry stage” (Atheist) and was then an Agnostic. Singapore is a multi-racial, multi-religious society, by the way. If you’re thinking if my school background or the fact i studied Bible Knowledge as a subject in school had something to do with my conversion - then you would be wrong. I’ll tell you a secret: I hated Christians so much that i even drew a picture of Christ on the crucifix and depicted Him burning in hell and posted it on the bulletin board of the school - that earned me a week’s suspension.

It was divine intervention that led me to the Church. No preacher, girlfriend, friend, book, foe or the internet could take credit for it. He literally brought me into His place of worship. I remember there was a Seventh Day Adventist Church next to the Catholic Church and further down, was a mosque. God could have lead me to either places of worship, but He specifically brought me there. How you might ask? Well, to this day, i cannot explain. Perhaps i was sleep-walking? But i doubt so, since it was during the day and after work when i was walking towards the bus-stop. I do not like to call other religions false (i have even stood up for Hindus and their religion on this forum) and sometimes even for the Muslims (although i do believe Islam’s prophet may have been mislead). I like to think of religions outside Christianity as the “stepping-stones” before the practitioner decides to take the leap - but only out of his/her own will.
Oh i do not have to be online to know it. I was once a Brahmin, remember? 😉 And i am the only convert in my family.
Cathopologist:

Thanks for sharing this.

I was hoping you’d share a little more of your thought processes that led you to seek out the Catholic Church.

And the reaction of your family would be equally interesting to know. But living in Singapore I suppose makes things much easier than it would have been if you had been living in the UP among your relatives.

He does not own those items. The Catholic Church owns those items.

Yes. No I do not believe that the creator of the universe turned a piece of bread into a piece of his sons heart in the year 700.

He does not own those items. The Catholic Church owns those items.

Your missing the point entirely. Who paid for those items? It’s a hypocritical for a Catholic to condemn a protestant preacher for his excessive wealth, when one is living in a glass house and stones are being thrown.

But the Protestant Preacher OWNS those items. So, he can give them away. The Pope does not own the items around him. We, the members of the Catholic Church, own the artwork. The Pope can not give any of the Vatican’s treasures away.

I would like to add that I don’t think that it is wrong that a Protestant pastor make a decent living. If his congregation desire for him to live in such a wealthy manner that is their business. After all, his living comes from their donations. But if someone tries to claim that the Pope is living in an excessively wealthy manner then I will point out the hypocrisy of criticizing one group and not certain Protestant preachers.

The pope lives in quarters with just a bed and simple furniture. The Vatican is rich in art and history, something you know nothing about. All the art is dated from the early centuries. The man whom Jesus Christ appointed to start His church, is buried there under the Vatican. That is why it is there.
If you truly believe that Benny Hinn was chosen by the good Lord, then you better think again because just that thinking that he was, just goes to show me you really don’t get it.

Never question the work of the Lord. I think someone said something like that around here!

Benny Hinn **is not **the work of the Lord. How naive you are.
His miracles are just as wondrous as Catholic miracles. Never question the Lord or how he works his magic!

Unless of course, Catholic miracles are authentic, and those Protestant healers are a bunch of frauds…👍
