I keep hearing he’ll take us women back to the 50’s. Don’t know about anyone else, but I’m looking forward to it. There were JOBS then and the US was in an economic boom.
:thumbsup:And,I love wearing pearls while I clean the house ,don’t you?😉

Thanks, but no thanks. I know a lot of things have changed since 2008, but honestly, Romney/Ryan scare me more than McCain/Palin. Palin was just not smart and the thought of the possibility of her taking over as President made me very nervous. As a woman, Ryan’s “personhood” issues cause me great concern. I am quite capable of making my own decisions about my body and my healthcare. I am old enough to remember the 70’s, and I don’t want to go back to them. I believe that eventually Ryan will try to force his beliefs on the country, and there will be problems. I have major concerns about Romney’s “religion” but will decline comment on these forums. But I will say, that I am not alone with my concerns. IMO.
I don’t blame you. Considering this administration’s open hostility to religious institutions and the conscience of people of faith, and taking into account the bishop’s united stance against such policies, I wouldn’t make the bet Catholics will “probably vote for him again”. In 2008, President Obama was an unknown quantity with sweeping sweeping speeches and Bush fatigue on his side. I know anecdotal evicence is pretty useless, but the Catholics I know who did support him no longer do.

I have no idea why Ryan’s defense of the sanctity of life would bother you more than President Obama’s radically pro abortion ideas.

I’m (barely) old enough to remember the 70s, too, and right now is oddly reminiscient of 1977-1981, if you know what I mean.

Ryan does drive a Delorean.

Just to clarify, Carlan, Mr. Romney is considered to be a moderate, if not northeastern liberal, Republican…not a conservative (at least by knuckle dragging right wingers like myself). If there are people who are going to hold their nose, it will be the right wing, not the mainstream GOPe (GOP Establishment).

If there was, say, a Clintonesque person in office versus the current individual who is squatting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, I would be sorely, sorely pressed to make a protest vote this year…

To re-emphasize, that is NOT because Mr. Romney is too conservative…just the opposite.
From Carlan-- I am under the impression that middle of the road Conservatives(not radical right wingers) are not that keen on Mr.Romney. Right?
Another oops, I actually meant right Conservative.
I understand the Tea Party to be the RADICAL far right wingers.

I understand that Mr, Romney, before he ran for the office, was considered by the GOP a North Eastern Liberal Republican.

I believe that to win the admiration of the tea party he has changed colors drastically,as he has done in his other former positions such as Pro-choice.
Sorry to say I do not trust your man. I do not believe he is the lesser of two evils.
Peace, Carlan

What are these drastic Tea Party radical ideas he has embraced? Financial solvency?

This tea partier doesn’t need Romney to “change colors”.

The NE Republican vs. Conservative battle has been going on for 100 years (see Taft-
Roosevelt), and isn’t going away this election cycle.

President Obama is so extreme that I have no choice but to vote Romney.

I like the Tea Party. I like their ideas of fiscal responsibility and family values. I like the idea that we, not the government, should take care of one another.

I also like that they clean up after themselves. 🙂

Obama has been consistently to the left of Che, Castro and Mao. He is at least consistent. But I totally disagree with your assessment of the two evils: Obama is by far the worst candidate for the Oval Office. His amateur tenure is proof itself, at least IMHO.

:hmmm::hmmm:Do you like, also, the hate and the vitriol that comes from the mouth of many tea party supporters?

I’d have to see it first. Can you post us some links. You make it sound commonplace enough that it should be easy to find. Here are some from avowed liberals.

I think you are confused with the “Occupy Movement”, they are a totally different branch more closely associated with democrats.

HE MAN, you do know that Tea Party people have called for the deaths of …well, I can’t think of anyone right now. BUT, they used the “c” word to describe…no one apparently. However, you should consider deleting all those articles you cite, b/c you know that calling out hate speech is in itself hate speech. At least, that’s what Bill Maher and Chris Matthews have told me. 😉 Rob

The Occupy movement is the group that *Obama* first supported, and said that THEY were the reason that he got into politics in the first place. Noble cause, indeed! :knight2: Rob

I don’t like hate and vitriol out of anybody’s mouth. 🙂

But I do like the Tea Party and their values. 🙂

I guess I would say some hate might come out of both movements. But the filth that the OWS and the left thrive on is truly disgusting to me.😦

Look at the way the left treated Chik-fil-a. Nothing but intolerance and nasty hate rants from the left.
