Well, that’s true.

What I was trying to say was that in this particular instance, they are taking a swipe at the Church for not being “politically correct” and “sensitive to the needs of the gay community.”

How dare the Church continue to uphold traditional morality and proclaim that some things are always wrong, no matter what the fashion of the day is!!
Like coming down on Bishops ? That would be nice. Instead of giving them cushy jobs in Rome. Crime does indeed pay -

vern humphrey:
Janet Reno was part of the administration that had a Surgeon General (Joycelin Elders) who told Catholics they should “get over” worrying about abortion.
 No kidding. That Clintonian administration was an absolute mess. He’s one of the big reasons why we are in this huge mess. That whole Clintonian staff should be in jail, but due to the cowards in Washington couldn’t get it done. What about the Bosnia mess, what did Clinton do? He dropped bombs, that’s it. What about Somalia? He dropped bombs. What about the embassies in Kenya that were destroyed? What did Clinton due about it? Nothing. What about the bombing in the WTC in the 1990’s? What did Clinton due about it? Nothing.

I don’t want to be uncharitable, but there were a series of escallating attacks on the US by Al Qaeda during that administration – one that you omitted was the bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen. The ineffectual response literally taught the enemy to dispise us. Bin Laden himself said that after the embassy bombings he realized he could do anything he wanted to the US.

A vigorous response to the FIRST attack would have prevented all the bloodshed that followed.

I forgot about those. There are other fiasco’s to. Isn’t Osama Bin Laden sick now they say? That’s what I heard. If I could get my hands on that Bin Laden I would put him in a cage and show him what the whole world is saying about him. I can’t see how he will triumph, when he goes against the Pope and publicly blasphemes the Madonna and her Christ.

Bin Laden, unfortunately is not fighting against the Church. He is fighting against men – some of whom are quite willing to concede him the victory.

What do you mean? He kills Catholics, not? Or do you mean in a sense he fights against all people no matter what their faith is? If that’s so I’ll buy that. Still though the Boston Globe has a Soviet style of reporting. And because we are not of their ideology, they lecture us consistently.

That is correct.

It is the nature of the extreme left to believe they are better and smarter than everyone else, and hence their tendency to talk down to others and to lecture them.

I hear you. I just hope that our nation doesn’t get hit with more socialist measures that eventually forbid us to have relations with the the Vatican. Or will make it a law not to speak out against homosexuality. I hope that our nation doesn’t make rediculous laws that forbid us to go to church. I fear our nation is headed towards disaster! Horrible disaster. In the words of Father Corapi “Wake up America!”

There are moves in Canada to do just that – to make the Church conform to the liberal views of the politicians. Some of the publicly-stated objectives are to outlaw the Church’s condemnation of abortion and gay sex, to require the ordination of women and gays, and so on.

Let us hope, for the sake of our fellow Catholics in Canada this is just hot air from the far left. But if it is not, let us hope they have the courage to bear witness as the early Catholics did.

Are there any examples of this? Are there politicians in the U.S. that have done this? I know we have extreme left speakers talking at catholic and public colleges. Examples: Hilary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Sen. Leahy ect.

I think we could very well see in this country the rise of the Roman Empire. Many seers in the past have warned about this! The Soviet Union was similar to this. But the difference simply being that Russia was communist. I guess that Communism could be a form of Emperialism.

I don’t if this has anything to do with my last post. But I heard at Garabandal that Our Lady supposedly had stated that “So many Cardinals are leading many souls down to Hell.” Although, Garabandal isn’t approved, there is some wisdom in that. This is before Vatican II took place.

The most dangerous example is the questionning of Presidential appointees on religion. Article 6 of the Constitution says " . . . but no religious test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

The same article requires all elected officials to take an oath to uphold the Constitution. Those senators who question the qualifications of a nominee on the basis of religion are in violation of their oaths. They are foresworn, and morally should resign or be removed because of moral turpitude.

Communism is a form of imperialism. Every know attempt to create a communist state has resulted in a brutal, totalitarian dictatorship – with either expansionistic tendencies, or as a satrapy to such an imperial state.

puzzleannie:
this is the same newspaper that crucified Cardinal Law and led the campaign to force his removal because he supposedly failed to report errant priests? Seems they don’t care what the bishop does, they will use it as a vehicle to attack the Church.
It is also true that without the Catholic church to rail against Carroll would have nothing to say; he spends half of his career critiquing the church he was once a priest in and the other half pandering to the left body politic.

The Boston Globe also had no credibiity with Cardinal Law when they started complaining about abuse because prior to that when Cardinal Law tried to curb a “liberal” church in the diocese they took up the cudgel for you guessed it,-- the dissident priests who were trying to operate their own version of “church” within the Church. As a result Cardinal Law I believe, ignored much of what the Globe was harping about on any subject everafter. And frankly the more I read of them, the more I can see why he felt that way.

That’s really sad. Its interesting cause I heard there were Jews in the Court and nobody questioned them about their beliefs. If they were, the liberals would jump up and say it was anti-semitism.

Yep, very true.

Traditionally, the court includes at least one Jew, one Black and one Catholic. Currently there are two Catholics (Roberts and Scalia) and one former Catholic Episcopalian (Thomas.) Ginsberg is Jewish.

Riley259:
Boston Globe columnist Joan Vennochi wrote a column today in the Globe accusing current Archbishop O’Malley of exacting revenge for ousted former leader Cardinal Law by removing priests who had opposed Law’s leadership after the church scandal broke. Her reasoning is patently absurd and again demonstrates why the Globe has to be the most anti-Catholic newspaper in the country. She also accuses O’Malley of being obedient to Rome when it comes to ousting dissident priests…well, that part she got right. Now how dare the Archbishop be obedient to the Magisterium…outrageous, huh? Read the column on the link below.

Yes the Boston Globe is very anti-Catholic but also supports dissenters in sheep’s clothing. See the article they published by James E. Post the president of the dissident group VOTF.

Well, all I can say is that John Paul II said that sexual abuse has no place in the clergy. But for some strange and unknown reason the media mysteriously ignores this. I think the guy on VOTF is all wet. Oh well.

Persecution will come our way…it is no surprise.
I agree.

Blessed Jacinta “If mankind does not cease offending God, the worst chastisement ever known to mankind will occur.”

I bet you that if Elias and Enoch return, the high authorities in the church would attempt to silence them. They treated Padre Pio the same way. But of course you can’t blame the Pope for this can you? Nope, we can’t. 👍
