Georgia State Representative, Vernon Jones
Minnesota - Eveleth. His name is Robert Vlaisavljevich. A life long democrat.
Virtually an unknown nothing burger…no one knew who he was until last night.

Just a reminder, voting for anyone in the Democratic Platform is a mortal sin so long as their party continues to support abortion. I’m not saying one “must” vote Republican by any means, only that one “cannot” vote democrat. For those who disagree I would ask that they remember their faith comes before their political affiliation.

Go Trumptonian on it. Cook it for 1 sec on each side and call it rare.

I don’t have any idea what his aspirations are.His story is very compelling and inspirational…I find him very engaging very personable and really good energy. He’s adorable, although not necessary as a POTUD itrait but nonetheless😌

Well lots of rising stars for sure! I’m not a fan of Marco Rubio

The difference is that the Republican platform does not support abortion. Individual republicans might. Just as individual democrats are pro life, their party platform supports abortion. So there is a distinction there. Personally I would love to see the democrat and republican parties crumble and have more independent choices, but that’s me.

Republican platform does not support abortion.
But we don’t vote platforms. I made the mistake of following that advice and voted for Rauner in a previous election, only to have him sign an abortion funding bill. I felt the need of confession for that.

Well you didn’t know he was going to vote that way (if you did then indeed it would require confession). There can be no doubt in this election that a vote for Biden/Harris is a vote for abortion, and countless other anti-Catholic policies. In no conceivable fashion can a faithful Catholic (or person of conscience) vote for that ticket. I’ve seen others posting on here arguing against the pro life movement by suggesting that pro life means quality of care for those after they are born (which I agree with) but then wrongly use that reasoning to support the democrats. The right to life trumps all. If we cannot secure the right to life for everyone then truly, no other rights matter. A right to health care, education, housing, etc means nothing at all if we don’t first have the right to be born into this world. Trump is a lot of things, and few of them good, but he has advocated for the protection of life and the defunding of the satanic abortion giant planned parenthood. This alone makes him the better candidate. Though again, I am not telling anyone they have to vote Republican. They can vote independent or write in candidates. But it’s sad to see so many who are claiming to be Catholic who defend their upcoming decision to vote for Biden/Harris. You might as well write in Lucifer for the presidency, as far as God sees it.

That may be your private opinion, but the Church does not teach that one may not vote for Biden. And a vote for Biden is not a vote for abortion. We have had pro-life Presidents and we have had pro-choice Presidents, for 47 years, and in all that time, the number of abortions has been remarkably unaffected by who is President. So it is just your guess that there will be fewer abortions under Trump than there will be under Biden. Past history says it does not matter.

Then do you support government guaranteed pre-natal care and delivery services, regardless of complications? You could support that regardless of who you vote for. So, do you?
If we cannot secure the right to life for everyone then truly, no other rights matter.
That is false. I suppose you think then that the right to bear arms and the right of free speech also don’t matter until we end abortion? Well, do you?

Are you sure that will significantly reduce the demand for abortions? It seems to me to make more sense to address the demand side instead of the supply side. If there were no demand for abortions, it would not matter that Planned Parenthood provides them. There would be no one to want to buy what they are selling. And one way to reduce demand is the provide guaranteed OBGYN services.
You might as well write in Lucifer for the presidency, as far as God sees it.
I think you better be careful when claiming to speak for God.

I’m not really thrilled with Kasich but he’s easier to stomach than most of them

The Catholic Church has taken the official position that abortion is the pre-eminent issue of our time. The Republican party has taken a position against abortion (I wish it was a stronger position as much of it ends up being lip service). The Democrats have taken a position of staunch support in pushing the abortion agenda in all aspects of life. This may have been a muddied area a few decades ago, but the lines have been drawn clearly in the sand. The Catholic Church says you cannot under any circumstance vote for a candidate who supports abortion. Period. There is no wiggling around this without sacrificing one’s soul.

The Catholic Church has taken the official position that abortion is the pre-eminent issue of our time.
And if I ever get a chance to vote on that issue specifically I will vote against abortion. But since there is no proposal on the ballot like that, I will vote for whomever I think will do the most good overall.

I couldn’t agree more. And that is another reason why I doubt that voting for a Republican will do much to advance the pro-life cause.

The Democrats have not promoted abortion as such. They have not forced a single woman to undergo one. They have promoted keeping abortion legal - a position I wish they did not take, but that hardly qualifies as “promoting abortion”.
The Catholic Church says you cannot under any circumstance vote for a candidate who supports abortion.
That is false.

See #3 specifically though all of it is a good read

A Brief Catechism for Catholic Voters | EWTN
EWTN is not an official arm of the Catholic Church. If you want official Catholic teaching, go to official sources, like the Catechism, or:

Faithful Citizenship - Justice Peace and Human Development | USCCB which says:
“The threat of abortion remains our preeminent priority because it directly attacks life itself, because it takes place within the sanctuary of the family, and because of the number of lives destroyed. At the same time, we cannot dismiss or ignore other serious threats to human life and dignity such as racism, the environmental crisis, poverty and the death penalty.”
So while abortion is declared the “preeminent priority”, it is not an excuse for ignoring other serious threats to human life and dignity. And that is official.

You have to read the Pope’s own words in his encyclical “Gaudete et Exsultate.

And scroll down to item 101
  1. The other harmful ideological error is found in those who find suspect the social engagement of others, seeing it as superficial, worldly, secular, materialist, communist or populist. Or they relativize it, as if there are other more important matters, or the only thing that counts is one particular ethical issue or cause that they themselves defend. Our defence of the innocent unborn, for example, needs to be clear, firm and passionate, for at stake is the dignity of a human life, which is always sacred and demands love for each person, regardless of his or her stage of development. Equally sacred, however, are the lives of the poor, those already born, the destitute, the abandoned and the underprivileged, the vulnerable infirm and elderly exposed to covert euthanasia, the victims of human trafficking, new forms of slavery, and every form of rejection.[84] We cannot uphold an ideal of holiness that would ignore injustice in a world where some revel, spend with abandon and live only for the latest consumer goods, even as others look on from afar, living their entire lives in abject poverty.
Now Lets Bullet point these other Equally Sacred Items

Equally sacred, however, are
  • the lives of the poor,
  • those already born,
  • the destitute,
  • the abandoned
  • the underprivileged,
  • the vulnerable infirm
  • elderly exposed to covert euthanasia,
  • the victims of human trafficking,
  • new forms of slavery,
  • every form of rejection.
Discovered this thru this article which requires a serious reading in detail which details the exclusion of this paragraph from the Bishop’s report. Then draw your own conclusion.

No it doesn’t excuse ignoring other issues. But all issues are not equal. Abortion is the pre-eminent issue, meaning this singular issue should be at the top of every Catholics mind in helping them discern who to vote for. So there is no wiggle room here. One cannot under ANY circumstance, vote for a candidate who has made public claims that they will promote abortion. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris (as well as everyone on the Democratic platform) have all ostensibly argued that they will further the abortion agenda, removing previous limitations or restrictions put in place. You cannot simply overlook this GRAVE evil because you like the democrats policy on immigration or trade or some other far less important issue. On abortion, there is simply no gray area to hide in. One must either stand with Christ and His Church and reject abortion, or stand with the world in promoting it. You cannot vote for abortion while personally being against it. That’s what gets Joe Biden in trouble every time he opens his mouth and uses his Catholic faith to defend his actions that violate said Catholic faith.
