I must embrace it, as it is for the perfection of my soul. Knowing how much my soul lacks produces the fear and consternation!

I have been talking the talk to so many others. I must now walk the walk. I pray for the strength. The prayers of faith-filled brothers and sisters in Christ serve to strengthen me. Thank you and God bless you.
You are an amazing inspiration to me–and to others on here, I’m sure. I have read through this thread, and just felt goosebumps reading your words of encouragement and can see the Holy Spirit working through you. I pray that you will be healed from this disease, and that you go through the process clinging to the grace that God will pour out to you. Praying hard for you!!

Now, it gets interesting. I have early stage four “not otherwise specified” lymphoma. It cannot be typed exactly at this point. It is an aggressive cancer that, in the time it took for all of the diagnostic testing, moved from stage three to stage four. Not what I wanted to hear, but I am not in charge, and I do not know what is best for my soul. The Lord does, and He is acting for the sake of His Kingdom.

I have the medication port inserted into my chest. It remains beneath the skin for ease of injecting the chemicals used in the chemotherapy. I will begin chemotherapy next week. Some of the chemicals are damaging to human tissue and even irritate the veins. So, the largest vein, adjacent to the carotid artery, is used to inject the “medication”, so it will be immediately diluted. That way, it reduces the damage to the vein.

Some of the chemicals can also cause irreversible cellular damage to the heart. The risk is low in my case. All of my hair will soon be gone (quickly rather than slowly!) and various other side effects will likely occur. However, the alternative to all of this is to get sicker and die. I don’t want side effects or heart damage, but the alternative is not at all attractive.

I know that the Lord is improving several prayer lives through all of this, even though mine has recently fallen apart. Much of the comfort I derive from these latest days comes directly from the prayers of the faithful here on CAF. To know that prayers are going up from all over the world is simply humbling.

God bless each and every one of you! I am called back to prayer, especially before Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, so please let me know of your intentions and I will lift them up.

Christ’s peace.

Just for God’s will to be done in all of our lives. Whatever is best for our souls.
I will go to Adoration tomorrow too and keep you in mind and speak to Jesus about you. God bless you. (I’m going to tell him that we need you here more than he needs you there.) MHO.🙂

I have been following your thread and am truly touched by how you have given yourself to the Lord. I will continue to pray for you and your health and that you will continue to keep the faith. You have provided me with words of comfort during my difficult time and I truly thank you for your prayers. I will be saying a special prayer for you tonight. God Bless You.

Dear Po,

How are you doing? I hope you had a “good day”. I know you are struggling, but our Dear Lord is with you every step of the way. I continue praying for you daily and remember you in my rosaries. God bless you and keep you in His tender care!

Knowing that you are praying for me in the midst of your agony is a very awesome thing. Thank you. Here is a prayer for us to pray for you.

Let us pray to the Lord.

                 O Lord our God, Who by word alone did heal all diseases, Who did cure the kinswoman of Peter, You Who chastise with pity and heal according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every malady and infirmity, do You Yourself, the same Lord, grant aid to this Your servant and cure him of every sickness of which he is grieved; lift him up from his bed of pain, and send down upon him Your great mercy, and if it be Your Will, give to him health and a complete recovery; for You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You do we send up Glory: to Father, and to Son, and to Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Praying or you nd Catholicnerd.

The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want;
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters;
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil;
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the
Lord forever.

God bless each of you for your selfless prayers! Today I begin chemotherapy, the first of three days in a row. On Sunday, I get infused with a drug which boosts white blood cell count, so that I can fight off infection. It seems like the entire world is praying for me! Nevertheless, my life belongs to the Lord. I beg of Him only the strength to bear this cross each day. I know that I have a purpose on this earth, but I should also desire my God above all else. What a paradox! With the support of the faithful, I have some anxiety, but little fear.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

po:

What can I say about you that hasn’t already been said? God must be very pleased with His creation of you. You are an inspiration to me and a treasure to us all. You will be o.k. - I KNOW it. God has too much for you to do right now! Look - He’s already got you sharing your faith with so many of us - setting a standard that many of us cannot, or will not achieve. I aspire to be like you. I pray for that. My prayers are that you will continue to be such a gift to us all! God bless you and keep you in His Tender Care!

Much love,

A Holy Spirit moment.

A few months ago, before I knew you were sck, I got a random call from the from some cancer (I can’t remember which) society asking if I’d collect from my block. I said yes. I usually say no. Anyway, I forgot all about it.

Yesterday the package arrived.

It is for Leukemia and Lymphoma

God bless you, Christine! I will try to post updates as I “progress”, but I have absolutely no idea how I will feel. Well, if I’m zonked, most of my family can hack my account and post for me, if needed.

Christ’s peace to all.
