I would like to thank you all so very much. This morning at 8:15 a.m. my child was aborted. I know that my child is with Jesus in heaven and even though I am distraught and a complete emotional mess, I would still like to thank you all so much for your prayers and support.

God does everything for a reason. Even though I am mad at him right now and I do not understand, I know that there was a purpose and I will come to grow and come closer to him through this experience.

God Bless Everyone.

Please continue to pray for my child’s mother. Her name is Bryttani and even though she made the decision and seems to be doing alright with it, I know that it will hit her eventually. I pray that she will be ok in the future and she doesn’t live to completely regret this decision.

With Love,

-Michael

Oh honey my heart is heavy for you and your little saint right now.

Have you seen this page yet? rachelsvineyard.org/men/index.htm Please speak to your priest, but know that there are many other resources out there that can help you heal. If you go to the top of the page where it says For Men, and scroll down to Email Buddies, that might be a good place to start

Praying very hard for you, and sending love your way

I’m so sorry about what happened. Even though you knew what you had done was wrong, you went and did the right thing and trying to save this baby’s life. Unfortunately she didn’t see it like that.

Do a lot of prayer, speak to your priest, God willing everything goes well.

I am so sorry for you.

You were very brave to come here and ask for prayers. I am very proud of how you handled yourself in this horrible trial with honesty and integrity. In then end you tried to do the right thing and remember that.

However, this was not an act of God but man. Man created laws against God’s laws and man performed the abortion. In the end, they used their free will to go against and reject God.

Do try to find a good priest, prayer group, or some other help right now during this hard time.

I will keep you in my prayers.

You said you pray she doesn’t come to completely regret this decision. I think you probably meant you hope the guilt doesn’t ruin her life, but my first response was, I HOPE AND PRAY she comes to completely regret this decision so she can ask for forgiveness.

I’m guessing the PP means “brother in Christ.”

Any news, OP?
Yep that’s what I meant.

😦 😦 :gopray:

Michael, It was so thoughtful of you to let us know the outcome. You have been on my mind. I hope that you use the resources posted to help get you through this. Remember that you are not alone. Others have been in similar situations. You will be in my prayers.

I agree. Having been a counselor at a crisis pregnancy center for five years I am aware that some time in the future she will regret what she has done. God can use this as a time of healing, if she turns to Him.

What an awesome God we have in that we can turn to Him and He makes all things new again!

Yes, to all of this. I will be praying for all of you today. :gopray:

I was about to post exactly the same. I am very sorry but this is an act of humans, God has no fault on it. Actions have consequences, and sinful actions have negative consequences and despite forgiveness we have to still deal with the consequences of sin. I hope this will bring you closer to God and I hope you learn the two lessons that come out of this experience: sex is something that should not happen before marriage (and here you saw why) and make sure the woman you marry shares your values starting with being pro life.

I agree you should talk to a priest or join a pro life group.

Hi, I am sorry to hear what you are going through. I dont think you should be too hard on yourself.

Whether an embryo or a fetus is a person is a contentious point. I realise on this forum, most people will disagree with me.

However for non-religious people, an embryo and a fetus is not a person, until the fetus gains consciousness.

You may be better off just accepting that things happen in life out of our control.

If God was really concerned about such things, why doesnt he do anything about them? That to me at least, this is a valid question, and proof if God exists, he has a different set of priorities to the one the church tell us he has.

I realise this is a controversial post, but thought a different perspective may be helpful. Take care and good luck.

Please don’t try to turn this thread into a theological discussion.

This is a point best made in another thread, not one in which you are attempting to dehumanize this man’s unborn baby.

I just tried to send you a message but understandably your inbox is full so I will post it here hoping you get it:

Joseph,
I just heard the news about your baby. I wanted to send you a message saying that I am so sorry.

When the time is right and you are ready to process through this experience, here are a couple of resources I highly recommend.

rachelsvineyard.org/men/
fatherhoodforever.org/

Cling to our Blessed Mother for comfort. Her son was killed too and shares in your grief.

I am heartbroken for you. Sending many many prayers your way…may Jesus and our Blessed Mother provide comfort and healing to you and the baby’s mother.

I am reminded of the Beatitudes. Keep your faith in God and you will be comforted. You are blessed because you mourn. You may have made a mistake with chastity, but when confronted with what is truly evil, you recognized the humanity of your child and fought to preserve her life. You mourn because you love. Because you love her, you found your faith again.

I believe God will make this right. As long as you keep your faith, you will be with your child again. Pray that her mother too finds salvation. You have to forgive her and do penance for her. Pray that she too will find faith in Christ so that her child will have both parents in eternity.
