My cousin developed prostate problems from stopping masturbating

And she will never be sick or tired or away. Because you have to have sex to have a healthy prostate.

Your cousin needs to see a respectable doctor, preferably a urologist.
That’s what I’ve been saying all this time!

The doctor’s advice must be professional, not tainted with liberal-progressive agendas.
When a doctors advice goes against the teaching of the Catholic Church, are they by default, liberal-progressive with a liberal-progressive agenda?

Sarah x 🙂

That is understandable. I’m not some sex addict. lol

But I do hope that I can have a good sex life someday with my special lady. I am a 23 year old virgin.

Sorry, I didn’t see this post. I just posted this yesterday silly. lol

What our doctor told him solved the problem, and it was free. He hasn’t had any problems since.
Not an excuse!

The best solution is to seek a urologist, preferably one that is actually professional instead of one who peddles liberal-progressive sexual agendas with medical advice.

And because they aren’t Catholic makes their advice not professional. 😉 lol

I was really shocked when I read that, and I really hope the poster is misinformed. I sincerely hope this is not Church teaching.

Sarah x 🙂
This is another mind boggling course of personal thinking. To understand church teaching, there is no purpose for intercourse in regards to pleasure. So all sex revolves around pro-creation. Now, if we in good conscious follow this logic, how in good conscious could a partner manipulate the other into something they [other partner] in truth have no desire to partake in? How one proceeds here is just a self-centered me, myself, and I, selfish act.

Can’t imagine how one derives “good-feeling’s” from that. If we are to consider relationships in marriage to be give and take, then we must always be willing to give more than we take. How does self-serving fit in that equation? I’m not seeing it, I do see how the theory of its better to give than receive has been designated to the closet, and its not an easy concept to embrace. This is the only path to mankinds communion though.

Well what about wearing clothes with mixed fabrics? Or tattoo’s like Leviticus: 1928

“Ye shall not. . .print any marks upon you”

Then in Revelations: 19:16

“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

I’m pretty sure that’s a tattoo.

Jesus din’t take that verse literally.

I think what Jesus means by adultery and lust, is to not go sleeping around, indulging yourself in sex with women, not looking at other women in lust while being married.

I don’t think God would want us to stop doing something that is natural and good for our health. Don’t tell me murder and gluttony is natural, because murder isn’t, maybe gluttony, but it surely isn’t good for us.

I don’t think he would want the problem to grow and get worse.
And what if masturbation IS the problem? What if masturbation itself isn’t good for you (in an overall sense, where it causes all sorts of physical and relationship problems that far outweigh the importance of any benefit to your prostate like the problematic fats and sugars in chocolate far outweigh any good that some of its chemicals might do for you)?

What if you aren’t married or in a relationship BECAUSE you masturbated and so learned to see sex as a solo activity and so are unprepared for how it will be as part of a relationship - which is an entirely different thing from masturbating?

Thanks for providing a strawman. That proves that you’re not serious with what I was saying.

That said, the type of urologist that the OP should see is one who gives professional advice - that is, without some liberal-progressive agenda mixed in.

Let’s just say, I have him contact a urologist, which by the way, this was about a year ago, and he’s had no issues since masturbating twice a week, and the urologist tells him the same thing.

Don’t say, “well he won’t”, but just what if he tells him the same thing?

But it’s not. It solved the problem. His prostate inflammation went down, no more sharp pains or weird discharge from his anus. His prostate was not being regulated from lack of masturbation. That was the issue. Period.

Your story is very suspicious and it grounds for skepticism. Not for moral reasons (as atheistgirl tries to use with her strawman) but for scientific reasons. Again, it is best to ask a urologist who’s a professional.

A senerio of the mind only.

Well I’m not making this up. It just popped into my head yesterday when I was doing research on whether or not masturbation really is a sin. Then I remembered my cousins incident, and I believe that Catholics are the most knowledgeable and strict form of Christianity, and I figured what better way to get answers to my questions then a Catholic message board. I don’t mean to offend anybody, but I’ve yet to find a good answer as to how it is truly wrong.

C,

Here are some credible links for Prostatitis…

Rectal Intercourse is a risk factor. Prostate massage is suggested as an aid. There is nothing here about masturbation.

This is from the Mayo Clinic

I believe that you can do whatever it is you want to do and justify it by reading anything if you choose to.

Next time do me the courtesy of actually reading what I write. It might have solved ONE problem, and quite possibly caused a whole lot of others. So is he really better off overall?

Like I said, eat a tonne of chocolate and you get some good chemicals but in so doing will also get a whole lot of bad fats and sugars - and overall I can guarantee you will end up in worse health than had you not eaten it. It would be foolish to say ‘oh but eating loads of chocolate wasn’t a problem - see all the good chemicals I got from it!’ - it would mean being wilfully blind to all the bad effects that the chocolate ALSO gave you.

Do not put words into my mouth.

In your cousin’s medical case, my advice still stands.

there are some things more important than our lousy corruptible festering bodies!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I don’t know why I’m laughing because what you say is very true. Perhaps it’s nervous laughter…
Anyway, Armageddon’s in just a couple of months now so I wouldn’t get too worked up about prostates or ovaries or any of those other squishy parts. It’ll all be over soon… Bring it on, Lord!:highprayer:
