Are you speaking as a Mormon, or a Mason? From your views, I’d say a bit of both.I’d settle for any evidence that there even is a masonic annointing. There is none. Please prove me wrong. I challenge you.
You shouldn’t speak of things you don’t know about. It makes you look foolish.
How do you think Joseph found out about the Coptic Orthodox annointing and clothing ritual?
Masons arose in the 16th/17th century, with a claim of going back to the time of Solomon. It is as empty of truth and fact as Mormonism. And when people pointed out the similarities to Christianity, the Masons of course explained that it was the attempt by Christians to Christianize their ancient order.
The Masonic anointing is all over the internet, from Masons themselves, and they explain the reason for it the exact same as Catholics.
But as a Mormon/Mason(?) I’m sure you’re all for the spin that the Catholics took this from the Masons. But as usual, Mormons look through the wrong end of the telescope.
The Knights Templar were a Catholic military order. Masons claimed, for a time, that they arose from this military order. Now, when the facts are given that they arose much later, they claim it is myth, when it was they themselves who started the “myth”.
Sounds like Joseph Smith, lie about the truth. Then lie about the lie. Then claim you never lied about the truth, which is yet another lie.
You want to delve into the lies of Masons and Mormons at the same time and how Joseph Smith intertwined them together?
