I’ve got a lot but I’ll start with ten.

All of the Star Wars films
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Kidnapped - the 1995 version
A Knight’s Tale

The Way
Master and Commander
Father Goose
Gunga Din
Bringing Up Baby

No one has mentioned the Lord Peter Wimsey series, which I guess were TV shows, but they should not be missed by anyone who likes Dorothy L. Sayers’ mysteries. The ones with Edward Petherbridge are great.

That I’ve REALLY seen five times is alone

Mr Smith goes to Washington

Gone With the Wind

Rebecca

The Wizard of Oz

The Searchers

Rear Window

Mulholland Drive
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Monsters, Inc.
Nights of Cabiria

  1. The Black Hole. Loved that movie as a kid.
  2. Star Wars
  3. Empire Strikes Back.
  4. Return of the Jedi.
  5. Highlander (only 3X)

The last trip I took to Italy with my dad in 1995 had enough bad weather that I ended up watching a lot of tv.

That film was out in Italy in the theaters and was advertised quite heavily on tv. The title though was, “Leon”.

I was quite the aficionado of Asian films for a while, though I can’t think of many that I’ve seen 5 times. Maybe Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and Infernal Affairs.

Here’s my five:
  • The Incredibles (Pixar)
  • Spirited Away (Studio Ghibli)
  • Kubo and the Two Strings (Laika)
  • Moana (Disney)
  • Inside Out (Pixar)
for #6 I’ll add “Isle of Dogs” (Wes Anderson)

This reminds me I should’ve added “My Neighbor Totoro” to my list!

Possibly Shiri as well. That was the first South Korean movie I ever saw.
The Incredibles (Pixar)
I’m sure I’ve seen The Incredibles at least 5 times. The sequel only once, though.

This spring I ordered a book from Japan with the piano sheet music for most of the Ghibli films, and I have been trying to learn them on the piano. So far I can do a fairly decent job with the pieces from Kiki’s Delivery Service and some from Spirited Away. The main theme from My Neighbor Totoro is remarkably difficult (at least for me) with all the weird syncopation.

The sequel was not worth seeing more than once. The Mouse insisted and Brad Bird capitulated. That’s the story of why the sequel was made.

  1. The Rocky Horror Picture Show. (I’ve seen it 5 times in costume, as 5 different characters, waiting for a vaxx to come out to make it 6)
  2. The Fifth Element. (Muuullltiiiipaaasss)
  3. Starship Troopers. (Would you like to know more?)
  4. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. (Khhhaaaannnn!!!)
  5. Big Hero Six. (:fist_left: Bla,la,la,la)

I forgot to mention earlier that Dances with Wolves was another film that I’ve seen at least five times and liked it a lot, including the plot, acting, and scenery.

Vertigo recently re-watched, always offering more on re-watch
Blade Runner The Last Replicant Standing is…
The Ten Commandments Yul Brynner and Charlton Heston perfectly matched in opposition
Star Wars A filmatic exercise in the deepest human archetype - the Father-Son relationship
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service The finest on-screen incarnation of Bond
