Raw potatoes are good, like eating or chewing starch. I’ve never actually eaten laundry starch though I’ve heard that some people can get cravings for it. I just stick to the occasional chaw of raw potato.
People who do this generally buy an old-fashioned brand that is made of cornstarch only and comes in a block form, not in a bottle. However, even eating the pure kind of starch can bring on health problems, so it’s best if one either doesn’t eat it or eats very little. Craving starch can also be a sign of a health problem.I would be wary of laundry starch. It probably has chemical additives that one’s system wouldn’t like.
It did that once and the cereal dissolved !I can’t really say anything, I used to put water in my cereal because I would run out of milk and I didn’t want Dry Cereal.
It’s, uh, also not food, right? Is this like the old timey equivalent of eating Tide Pods?I would be wary of laundry starch. It probably has chemical additives that one’s system wouldn’t like.
I want to a college that had a lot of kids from Philly and a lot of kids from New York, and the Philly kids would pile the condiments on their hot dogs and New York kids would have one little line of mustard.condiments on my hot dogs
Oh my. My father would do that with pork chops. Cook the pork chops in a pan. Then dip the bread.my mom would take a piece of bread and soak up the grease and crusty bits left in the pan and share it with me
It’s considered a form of pica, same as chewing/ eating clay. It’s been fairly common in the American South in the past and has persisted into modern times. You can find a lot of articles and discussions about it online even today. It’s, uh, also not food, right? Is this like the old timey equivalent of eating Tide Pods?
I thought @StephieNorthCo’s peanut butter and tomato sandwich was the cap of this thread, but this broke the ceiling and horrified me more.used to put water in my cereal because I would run out of milk and I didn’t want Dry Cereal.
This is true. It’s called kaolin. I’ve tried it and it surprisingly tasted like dirt to me. I did just pick it up from an exposed vein on a dirt road, so maybe the kind sold in more rural convenient stores tastes a little better.fairly common in the American South
With peanut butter on one bread slice—yum-yum! We also would place a few plump raisins from a newly opened box. Great energy snack!adamhovey1988:

I guess the weirdest food I eat is a banana and mayonnaise sandwich
