Name the worst movies ever made

Thanks for the thread. Now I am repeatedly being haunted by all the bad movies I remember.

The disney version of the Three Musketeers. Never has a classic story been so mutilated. In my opinion very anti-catholic too.
 
Yes, this is all true… That said, I’m not against Disney and am not annoyed by thier stuff. More over, I don’t have a problem letting my little girl watch these classic films which display traditional values and morals. At least that’s my take. Besies, the real versions of some of this stuff (for instance red riding hood, cinderella) are disturbing and frightening.
 
Sometimes awful movies are beloved because you liked them as a kid…

Case in point: Flash Gordon

It was meant to be tongue-in-cheek and campy with plenty of humor (for Jharek “humour”)
but boy was it cheesy! As a kid I took it seriously! 😛 As an adult I sit there cracking up at that thing!

But what saves it? Timothy Dalton, Max Von Sydow and hello…Queen’s soundtrack!

You mean like Battle for the Planet of the Apes which at 7 years old was the greatest movie I ever saw in my life??!

Actually I love the planet of the apes movies…but boy there are a lot of holes in the fabric of the time-space continuum in those flicks! 😛

My favorite is Beneath the Planet of the Apes. Tripped-out nuked mutants worshipping a bomb, Ursus, underground subways, mind control, what’s not to love! 😛

I would like to clarify that the original is a classic. At 7 my favorite was the last in a line of sequels. As you said, most adults probably had enough but I thought it was great.
 
I think there was a good continuity between Planet of the Apes and Beneath the Planet of the Apes. But after that the history and timespace continuum was just plain off and goofy. But they’re a guilty pleasure anyway. Roddy McDowell and mutants and apes, gotta love it! 😛

Aw, but as a teen girl in the 80’s I LOVED this movie…I think it was mainly the time travel aspect…and the music is great!!!

Have you seen Time Bandits? Terry Gilliam and Python absolutely bust me up sometimes…the Meaning of Life scene about the Catholic Church and contraception made me laugh so hard my chest hurt! 😛

I agree that those stunk. Day After Tomorrow get’s the double poo award for making me think it was based on the book but was instead a dumb disaster flick.

They are supposed to be.

Some Bible stories are disturbing and frightening, too. And these days, what Disney is selling is paganism and man-bashing.

In the end it’s up to you, the parent, to determine what your kid will see. Disney lost me a while back.

And Micheal C, yes - I have seen Eraserhead. Wish I hadn’t.

Nothing gets under a conservative’s skin like this movie.
Exhibit A: Global warming causes instant flash freezing of a helicopter pilot and buries NYC under a glacier
Exhibit B: Gringo Americans hop the Mexican border fence in a desperate plight to escape Mother Earth’s wrath. Mexicans look on in glee.

This was a liberal schlock fest. lol 😛

Another candidate for a terrible big budget studio movie would have to be The Happening. Heck, just about anything by M. Night Shymalan is unbearably awful (although I did enjoy The Sixth Sense and most of Signs).
 
Well for us left-leaning Independents, watching the real life events of 2000-2008 were enough to give one ebola virus with skin crawling so maybe a few liberal fantasy films are just what the doctor ordered to get our mind out of the Bush presidency!! :p:eek:

Some people are knee-jerk about movies, most right-wing folks. Many think that movies are brainwashing tricks from Hollywood. “Toy Story is really a hypnotic brainwashing tool from the Obama White House!” LOL 😃
