Brandon: No I didnt figure it would change your mind… I was more wondering how you reconcile in your theology the fact that the two people can be standing facing each other on opposite sides of the timeline, and one has to keep the Sabbath and the other doesnt, even though they could be shaking hands.
**Goitalone: Well, the Bible says even to even Sabbath is to be kept so that’s why…no matter where you are.
**Brandon relpy: I think your missing the point. Two people can be shaking hands, one on each side of the international date line, looking at the same sun, and have the exact same sundown, however, it is Sabbath (saturday) for one and only Friday for the other. The assignment days to 24 hour periods has been done by man by the establishment of the international date line. So although both Adventists are standing next to each other, one has to observe the Sabbath and the other doesnt because MAN established the date lines, and the SDA Church recognizes them otherwise, any one day would be perpetual around the earth. The point is that the day you call Saturday or Sabbath is determined by where man placed the international date line… not by scripture.
**Goitalone said: People weren’t meant to live in those regions I don’t believe in the first place…but those who are in Alaska for example, have I guess their own personal choice to keep sundown to sundown, like the Bible says…or if as Doug said he knows some who even observe it for a whole 12 hour period just in case (sundown to sundown and then some) or not to keep it at all for that matter.
**Brandon replied: I am not sure why you said that people are not supposed to live in those regions… is it because it does not fit easily into your theology and the whole impossibility of keeping the Sabbath from sunset to sunset is exposed? BTW we are not talking about just keeping it for a few extra hours, I am saying that if Adventists wanted to keep the Biblical Sabbath then they would have no Sabbath at all for months, and then they would have a Sabbath for months because the sunset to sunset can take months. When God gave the sunset to sunset sabbath he gave it to Jews who were all in one geographic location. When the gospel was taken to the world, the introduction of the New covenant released us from the Jewish laws, because they would be impossible to observe.
**Have any of you ever just…FELT like it’s the real Sabbath?
**When I was SDA yes… Since I learned more about what the Bible says about it… no. **
We can’t know everything for sure, but to me it is a better, safer way as it IS one of the commandments and for all the other reasons I posted last night.
**Actually, we can… Christ has promised us that the Church could never be led astray… therefore if you follow the doctrines of the Church which Christ established, you can be sure. **
But I am really pretty much done with the talking about it for awhile…I have been on here too much last few weeks, plus its the Sabbath and I got to go soon…want to be ready s for it for a change.

**
Have a good Sabbath!
