Umm, I’ve READ National Sunday Law and the Great Controversy, and can say that both books are dripping with hated for the Catholic Church.

That is your opinion of the events and your interpretation of scripture. How do you know that your interpretation and your opinions are right?

Besides I can give you quotes where the Jews were angry that Jesus “broke” the Sabbath.

You still haven’t answered the question. Which day of the week is the Sabbath? The Jews celebrate it on Saturday, but the days of the week as we know them did not exist. back then. Besides, Considering the changes in the calendar over the centuries, how do you know they didn’t celebrate on say, a Tuesday?

The Jews know what day the Sabbath is and always has been…no one ripped a whole nation of Jews away from knowing and passing down what day the seventh day Sabbath is.

That’s just not possible…God wouldn’t allow it anyway.

I checked out this link and read the article, but it doesn’t hold water. For one thing, Scripture says (and you agree) that it is “lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” However, the defense in the article (and I agree, that we don’t know for sure what “collection” Paul was referring to). The argument is that Paul didn’t want them to do anything "strenous: on the Sabbath. However, if it is Ok to do good on the Sabbath, what does it matter? Otherwise, the people who wanted to get their ox out of the ditch would be out of luck.
Secondly, why wait until the day after the Sabbath to do the collection? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have the collection earlier in the week, so that it would be complete by the Sabbath when the church congregated (like the Israelites in the desert who collected an extra ration of manna the day before the Sabbath)?

I don’t endorse it.

God gave us the choice to do whatever…doesn’t mean its right
…all people in any church have fault, but I am talking about the teaching here being God’s truth, not what any church says, or doesn’t say about abortion.

For that matter…does God say not to eat Pork? Yes.

Do you eat it? I would guess you do…its an abomination and your teachigns says it is ok to eat right?

:confused: Where in the world did THAT come from? And if you believe it, you’d better do some background study on the Catholic faith.

And after all our posts asking you to show us how the word Saturday comes from the Bible and how the Bible proves it is the Seventh day of the week - the above remark out in left field is all you have to say?

It has become evident that you cannot answer our questions because you have NO answer and there IS NO answer!

So God wouldn’t allow the Jews to forget the Sabbath, but he would allow the church His Son started to be subverted and worship on a different day of the week? This is what the SDAs claim basically, which makes Jesus a liar (since he said the gates of hell would not prevail against his church, and if the church was corrupted as the SDAs claim, then the gates of hell certainly HAD prevailed).

Another SDA contradiction. They teach Jesus abolished all the Jewish laws except the Ten Commandments, yet they follow the Jewish dietary law? Please, inform me where in the New Testament it states we are to keep the Jewish dietary law. Jesus himself says it is what comes out of a man, not what goes into him, that defiles him. And the council of Jerusalem says NADA about Gentile Christians being forbidden to eat pork.

I did not ask what you personally belief I ask what does your church: Seventh-Day Adventist Church teach its members.

What is your church “official” stance on abortion?

Pork is filthy bro…that’s a known fact. Even other meats that are actually “clean to eat” are a major cause of health problems in the world today.

God made us to eat of the Garden…fruits and nuts (our original meat)

Our whole existance is about getting back to that Garden by Obeying God and His laws.

Really? The Church is to be a “city on a hill.” How could some “hidden church” be that? Please show me (historical documents please) that this “secret underground church” the SDAs tell of existed. History records many sects that broke off from the Catholic Church, but none that observed the Sabbath. Please, SHOW me proof that there were Christian groups in post Constantine times that observed the Sabbath. Answer: There were NONE until the 19th century when groups like the Seventh Day Baptists and your sect came into existence.

Are the Jewish dietary laws healthy. I would agree. Still, give me book/chapter/verse in the NT where we are COMMANDED to follow it, as the SDAs claim.

The Lord’s day doesn’t replace the Sabbath. You may not realize it, but there are huge numbers of Catholics that worship on Saturdays every week. In our parish it is the most heavily attended service. Also, Holy Mass is offered 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
