Bad enough that they signed Britney Spears to guest star at all. That may help the ratings, but only because people will tune in to see the train wreck. Worse that they have to do it at the expense of Christianity.

I quit watching TV sitcoms a few years ago and I haven’t missed them.
I have done the same, and I don’t miss it one bit. It was no sacrifice, there is simply nothing of value on anymore.

Will and Grace has been a disgusting show from day one, so I am not surprised in the least. I intend to let NBC know my feelings.

NBA is loosing money left and right. If NBC management is smart, they should stop making gabbages. Perhaps they don’t care about making money anymore.

If i wasn’t on a large contract, i’d cancel my cable now…. I’m so sick of TV but my plan is to cancel the cable when I can afford it, then by a DVD and VHS player and just rent movies that I want to watch…none of this mediochre stupid mindless tv…enough with my mini rant!
Yes, the sad irony is that to get EWTN, I have to pay for garbage like Spike, MTV, etc. and it’s bad enough that the main networks come through automatically because they aren’t part of cable.

I don’t think that the reaction will be quite as pronounced as it was for the Book of Daniel. For one thing, that show was new, while W & G is an established juggernaut on NBC. It is one of NBC’s top rated shows, and the upcoming scene w/ Brittney Spears will most likely play well with the target audience. Book of Daniel, on the other hand, had to try and reach the general populace to grow their ratings (which many of us were able to foil…hee hee). So NBC will likely get away with this one.

Urgh, I just saw this on another thread, but I didn’t know it was slated to appear on Holy Thursday. To think this will be airing while we’re singing the “Pange Lingua”…Yeesh.

Amen to that. They probably don’t.

I will send my email, but I wonder if it helps very much when we are not the people watching the show.

Just an odd thought here: what if we tune in, with volume down, only pay attention to the advertisers, then inundate them with phone calls, email, and letters. NBC may not listen to our letters, but will listen to those who butter their bread.

I’m cross-posting here:

There’s no stopping NBC.

Will & Grace is a pretty funny show. As for them showing it on the day before Good Friday? Not the brightest of ideas…

At RCIA tonight, Deacon brought up writing to NBC, etc., and I told him about my thought posted below about approaching the advertisers, and he said that there are ways to find out who the advertisers are for a particular time frame. I’ll check in with him tomorrow to see if he remembered how to do so. In the meantime, if someone knows of this, please post it here, and I suggest we start writing NOW! 👍

Completed the transactions. Hope my little bit helps. Now I can only pray. Thank you for the post.

Just got this e-mail from a friend, thought I’d share and if anyone knows anything about it.

SPECIAL ALERT! NBC to mock the Crucifixion of Christ
NBC, fresh from giving us the anti-Christian The Book of Daniel, has decided to hit back at the Christian community by presenting an episode of Will and Grace which mocks the crucifixion of Christ.
On the April 13 edition of NBC’s Will and Grace, Britney Spears will appear as a Christian conservative sidekick to Sean Hayes’ homosexual character, Jack, who hosts his own talk show.
Jack’s fictional network, Out TV, is bought by a Christian TV network, leading to Spears contributing a cooking segment called “Cruci-fixin’s.” To further denigrate Christianity, NBC chose to air it the night before Good Friday.

NBC does not treat Jews, Muslins or other religions with such disrespect. Yet the network demonstrates a deep of hostility toward followers of Christ.
TAKE ACTION

Click here to send a letter to NBC Chairman Bob Wright. Ask your pastor to run a notice in your church bulletins and newsletters and request members to go to www.afa.net and send the email to NBC Chairman Wright.

NBC executives insist the group’s objections stem from faulty

More here.

NBC is claiming the press release was a mistake
NBC executives insist the group’s objections stem from faulty
details in a press release mistakenly issued by the network earlier
this week, and that neither a script nor story line for the episode in
question has been written. …
NBC countered that the dispute stems from an inaccurate press release
that went out without being properly vetted.
“Some erroneous information was mistakenly included in a press release
describing an upcoming episode of ‘Will & Grace,’ which in fact has
yet to be written,” NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks told Reuters late in
the day.
All that has been decided is that Spears will play a central role in
an upcoming episode that will likely air sometime in April, Marks
added.
<this sounds like a lot of bull. there’s no way that whoever wrote the
p.r. pulled out “cruci-fixins” out of nowhere. Sounds like NBC caved
in and is going to change it.>
