NBC is now claiming it’s all a big misunderstanding:

. . . and for anybody who believes that, I know a nice bridge for sale down by the Battery in Manhattan.

Will and Grace is still on the air? Wow… that’s news to me.

Will & Grace has achieved TV immortality. It’s in syndication, and will never go away.

I will send my email, but I wonder if it helps very much when we are not the people watching the show.
If they catch enough flak they might cancel the episode. I understand “The Book of Daniel” has already been dropped.

Reacting to pressure from Christian groups, NBC canceled an episode of “Will & Grace” that featured Britney Spears as a conservative who hosts a cooking segment called “Cruci-fixin’s” on a Christian TV network.
NBC last week was forced to pull its highly touted new show “The Book of Daniel” because of charges its portrayal of Jesus was blasphemous.
Full Story However, they are trying to spin it like it was never going to happen and it was a misprint.

NBC to mock the Crucifixion of Christ

NBC, fresh from giving us the anti-Christian The Book of Daniel, has decided to hit back at the Christian community by presenting an episode of Will and Grace which mocks the crucifixion of Christ.

On the April 13 edition of NBC’s Will and Grace, Britney Spears will appear as a Christian conservative sidekick to Sean Hayes’ homosexual character, Jack, who hosts his own talk show.

Jack’s fictional network, Out TV, is bought by a Christian TV network, leading to Spears contributing a cooking segment called “Cruci-fixin’s.” To further denigrate Christianity, NBC chose to air it the night before Good Friday.

Click Here to read the Associated Press article.

NBC does not treat Jews, Muslins or other religions with such disrespect. Yet the network demonstrates a deep of hostility toward followers of Christ.

  1. I think what is complained of is a bit tasteless, but no more. To make a fuss about things like that often does nothing but publicise them - besides, if Jesus objects, He is quite capable of doing so without any help from us.

And in any case, Christians sometimes deserve the unfavourable treatment they get: they can be extremely obnoxious.

It’s not as though there were a God-given law that Christians must never, ever be offended - in a country which favours freedom of sppech and expression, cocooning the feelings of this or that group so that they are never upset is impractical, and impossible. It would also be extremely unhealthy - because life is not free of things one does not like.

I think this detail about “Crucifixins” is careless, but nothing worse.

BTW - a fiction, is not the same thing as a fiction within a fiction; which is what the programme’s story appears to be - the meanings differ a great detail.

why do some people have to ruin it for those of us who aren’t outraged by everything that is out of the box??

The Book of Daniel was a good show, and “Will and Grace” better show that episode with Britney…

Will and Grace a good show? I suppose so, if you think Menudo compares to Handel. I hate to ruin it for you, but every episode of Grace pretty much goes like this:

Somebody says something.
A gay person says something about being gay.
Janitor pushes button on laughtrack.

Somebody does something
A gay person does something gay in response.
Janitor pushes button on laughtrack, goes back to break room for coffee.

Somebody says something.
Someone slutty says something slutty.
Janitor manages to make it back in time to push button on laughtrack.

Through it all, the only one who is not sleepwalking through their role would have to be the poor janitor who must maintain a level of consciousness to recognize the word “gay” and push the button.

I know that by lifting the veil and revealing the secret to the show’s comedy magic, I have ruined your viewing pleasure. Don’t worry. You have 60 other channels of pure tripe to gawk over.

Unbelievable how people who do not agree with our views will go out of their way to defend the offending shows by pretending they are works of more than mediocre quality. Give me a break. If this is the pinnacle of your culture’s achievements, you have much to criticize in your dumb culture.

On the bright side, if NBC keeps this up, their show’s little plot may end up becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. Imagine how their snitty, antagonistic attitude will corrode their numbers over time…

They loose money and start to look for more financial backing…

The CA forums springs to action, having organized millions of dollars through forum solicitations and BUYS NBC…

NBC constantly produces pro-life films and news exposes on the media censorship of the pro-life cause (ie, the book Grand Illusion which is censored by the American Library Association – an organization that does not even censor child porn).

Sounds like a plan, eh?

How many episods of W&G did you watch?

Here is a response from ksdk.com television, located in St. Louis, MO, as follows:

Following is a statement from NBC:

Some erroneous information was mistakenly included in a press release describing an upcoming episode of “Will & Grace” which, in fact, has yet to be written.

The reference to “Cruci-fxins” will not be in the show and the storyline will not contain a Christian characterization at all.

We value our viewers and sincerely regret if this misinformation has offended them.

Some will search through all the cable channels to find things they don’t want you to watch. In past days they had the power of the state to enforce their tastes. Now, they don’t. But they do need low ratings to help their cause. Consider the continued success of Desparate Housewives. All the letters in the world don’t stand a chance against high ratings.

The best way to defeat the people who want to control wnat you watch is to just watch it.

I imagine there are people out there who don’t want EWTN on TV. Maybe they will just have to live with it.

W&G is already in syndication. That’s the real gold mine at the end of the TV tunnel. There are enough episodes that we will be seeing it for many years to come.

GE would be delighte to sell NBC to activists with lots of money. Consider what happened when the Japanese started buying US movie studios. The studios sold themselves for exhorbitant prices, moved down the road and started new studios.

I have 300 channels on my cable box. If an activist group can keep getting the money, there will always be networks ready to sell and move down the road to start channel 301, 302, 303…

The Brokeback folks haven’t noticed the boycott yet. It has sold $80 million in tickets without counting this weekend which is the first after the Oscar nomination.

I don’t think it is possible to organize a boycott that has any real effect anymore. Thre are just too many venues and choices available, so no particular offering has the unique visibility necessary to become the target of a boycott.

Thank God for that…

What could be more brainwashing than the “It’s ok to be gay” storylines that the media is trying to shove down everyone’s throats.
We get it already, is the gay pride parade not enough anymore?

If you are hinting to people to respect your views, then respect ours.

I dont really care if you respect my views or not because I really dont respect some of yours.

It is ok to be gay, not matter how wrong the Bible says it isn’t…

And yeah, wow. One gay movie comes out in the entire history of films that is recognized as being excellent, and we’re trying to shove our “agenda” down your ignorant throats? I think not…
