I dont really care if you respect my views or not because I really dont respect some of yours.

It is ok to be gay, not matter how wrong the Bible says it isn’t…

And yeah, wow. One gay movie comes out in the entire history of films that is recognized as being excellent, and we’re trying to shove our “agenda” down your ignorant throats? I think not…
Ignorant?.. You are the one coming on a catholic forum, trying to shove this pro gay propaganda down our throats, while trying to defend the media that is branching out to more and more people, who’s souls are in extreme danger of suffering an eternity in hell.

You’re calling me ignorant for trying to defend the bible? And for choosing the bible over a sitcom that is full of gay jokes, and a cast of characters who have more sex throughout the day than food?

I love it how im being called ignorant for trying to defend my faith, when someone comes here and “ignorantly” talks higher about a bad sitcom than the bible.

What could be more brainwashing than the “It’s ok to be gay” storylines that the media is trying to shove down everyone’s throats.
We get it already, is the gay pride parade not enough anymore?

If you are hinting to people to respect your views, then respect ours.
Those who have not freely chosen to pay to see the movie have not had it shoved down their throats. Those who have chosen to pay, have made their own decision,

It is possible to respect views without complying with those views.

One of the often missed characteristics of the media is the choice it offers. Anyone who doesn’t like a movie can refrain from seeing it. Anyone who does not like a sitcom can click the remote.

It’s the same with the bible. Anyone who doesn’t want to read it can simply refrain from opening it.

yeah, but the only problem is… I’m not going to the “Brokeback Mountain” forum and bashing the movie, or a “Will & Grace” forum for that matter.

I’m going to make suggestion that tv and other media is like a guest in people’s homes and that the programs ought to be designed as if they were like a guest. Now I may have a choice to toss an ill-mannered guest out of my house, but why must I wait to be offended? Does the moral pollution have to be so pervasive I have to stop having company over because I can’t trust them? I don’t think it unreasonable in the least to call networks and ask them to not do this. The don’t-like-don’t-watch argument is as flat as it is unsatisfying.

Uhh, maybe because I AM Catholic and tired of all your ignorance towards homosexuals. I’m not calling you ignorant for trying to defend the Catholic faith, I’m just simply saying to stop speaking so arrogantly and making gay people seem like some sort of freaks that are trying to shove their agenda down your throat. I’m just preaching a message of acceptance and a message of it is ok to be gay…

That’s your choice. Just like the TV remote. The internet is just another media outlet. Click or don’t click. Another choice.

So, get rid of the guest. Why keep him there and try to reform him?

Why are you watching things that offend you? My cable TV system has an option that allows me to black out channels, or demand a password before they will play. I create the guest; I don’t just have to accept him.

We have an obligation to resist the strong immoral forces that are poisoning our society through any media. And when they specifically attack our faith on one of the highest of holy days… yer dang right we are gunna howl about it.
You don’t have to be actually a viewer of these shows to know the influence they have on culture - the lies they spread, and the poison they spew. I don’t go to adult stores, but if they come to my community I am going to protest their presence.
This is a tactic of the defenders of evil. “Just ignore it, …You don’t have to watch it”… Meanwhile, your culture is being destroyed.

I haven’t watched network television in years. Obviously I’m not missing anything.

I complained to NBC and KXAN the NBC affiliate in Austin; no response at this time. However, a friend in Fort Worth received a response from the NBC affiliate there claiming there would be no such show, and that there was a unintended error in the press release which gave out the info. Interesting how such a “mistake” could have been made.

Well, I suppose some people don’t watch things that disagree with them. And they also want to stop other people from watching those things.

I’d say it is a bit silly to attempt to shut down EWTN simply because some peole don’t like to watch it. Why should Catholics be denied EWTN because somebody else doesn’t like it?

Exactly…

          • Moderator Warning * * * * *
If you want to discuss the morality and ethics of homosexuality, take it up in the Moral Theology forum. This is the last time I am going to post this warning regarding calling people stupid or ignorant for citing the Catholic position regarding the intrinsically disordered nature of homosexuality. It has been dogmatically defined by the Church, end of discussion. If you wish to converse about how we as Christians should be treating individual homosexuals, do it in Moral Theology. This Forum is to discuss Popular Media. Suspensions are looming for people who post here with an agenda. If anyone has any questions, PM me.

Victory! NBC pulls offensive segment!
Code:
Action by AFA Online supporters has cause NBC to pull the offensive segment scheduled for the April 6th episode of Will and Grace.
In an attempt to confuse the public, the network issued an intentionally misleading statement which left the impression that AFA had lied to our supporters. Here is the statement NBC sent to their affiliates for the affiliate to use in responding to emails and calls: *Some erroneous information was mistakenly included in a press release describing an upcoming episode of “Will & Grace” which, in fact, has yet to be written. The reference to “Cruci-fxins” will not be in the show and the storyline will not contain a Christian characterization at all.*NBC did not say that they (NBC) had issued the “erroneous information” but left the reader with the impression that AFA had issued the "erroneous information."

When NBC said that the script “has yet to be written,” what they didn’t tell you is that the “story board” had been completed and the offensive material was scheduled to be a part of the episode. The story board contains the outline of the program. That is the reason for the detailed description of the episode issued by NBC in their initial press release.

For a better understanding of this deception by NBC written by a third party, click here.

The bottom line is that the actions taken by AFA Online supporters like you caused them to rewrite the episode and remove the offensive segment!
