In 2 Thessalonians 2:3 , St. Paul counsels some, worried about the end of the world … (paraphrase) “… let no one deceive you, unless the great apostasy comes and the man of sin and lawlessness is revealed … it is not (yet) the end.” < from memory, not cut and pasted.
With up - now being called down - and back forth … life taking being praised and life giving reviled …
and men with high offices leading people away from Christ like some did when He walked the Earth …
… maybe we are getting close to a historical tipping point.
The Church is being persecuted publicly throughout the earth … the great red dragon of China appears to be gearing up for wars …
and the Most Holy Eucharist … the " source and summit of our faith" is hidden, cast aside, and profaned in sacrilege even by a newly elevated “prince of the church …”
A mighty time may be upon us.
Is it just me or does Gregory seem to be inviting that photo op at his Cathedral when Biden DOES come by to receive " unworthily "?
Stay strong and vigilant and pray were the counsels of Paul, John, Peter, and Jesus Himself
when our faith ancestors faced some “end of the
world”-like persecutions.
Even if our world is headed for even more societal upheavals … odds are that we will see the end of OUR world before we see THE end of the world.
Yet if the Lord Himself has placed us in this here and now … He has a reason for doing it.
We are privileged to be the vessels of hope, faith and courage in our Church and world … and armed with enough of His graces to succeed against our worst instincts and peoples’ today.
We don’t have a zillion problems … the ONE eternal one … NOT loving God nor neighbor enough … is pretty much it as always.
While I’ve led off with criticism of both Biden and Gregory … coming round to

ray:ing for them (and ourselves) is probably the better thing to do.
Loving our enemies takes Major League graces … but God happily gives us those.
And really, if Biden and Gregory are the ones in a fog now … we have been too, and have needed (and still need) good counsel from the Lord through others.
Bless us Lord. Help us to come to you in the Blessed Eucharist clean, humble, amazed and ever ready to change for the better.
Then shall we be able to love, forgive, endure heroically, and broadcast your peace beyond all understanding to a stumbling stupid world that needs you so much.
