My one and only point continues to be:If you were aware that your original post was wrong, why would you post it?
If your property taxes are more than your mortgage and insurance, that means you probably have a low mortgage, good for you.
And if that means you can’t afford to stay in your home, that means your income puts you as one receiving the tax breaks from Obama, you don’t have to worry about the taxes on company paid insurance since you are becoming retired.( those taxes are on the value of insurance provided to employees in excess of certain limits, for instance the cost of the first 50K in life insurance is tax free, the rest of the cost of buying the insurance is imputed as being “income”)
I guess you are going to refuse to accept the social security payments from the government on principal since you don’t want those remaining in the work force to have to pay for you. Unless of course you don’t have social security because you are receiving a government pension from a source that precluded receiving SS.
As for the taxes on cigarettes etc. , you don’t have to worry about me bleeding for you .
Bet you also know that the states that tend to receive more federal spending dollars than they pay in taxes are the ones whose voters oppose most of the federal programs, even though they seem to benefit the most from them.
BTW, I really wasn’t trying to tell you what to do, I just thought it was a gentler and more polite way of asking you to make factual posts.
Peace
Total taxes from all sources as a percent of total individual earnings have steadily increased for nearly 100 years. If you are of the 50% or so that pay no federal and state income taxes or if you rent a house, or if you had to pay estate taxes when your parents died, or maybe you are not retired, perhaps your would not know. Then again perhaps you think taxing the sweat of my brow to provide for others is charity on your or my part.
