People are already threatening boycotts and burning of Nike apparel. We shall see. It is clearly a political statement by Nike, as the safe money move would be to use the other athletes listed and fill in other slots with milquetoast replacements. Not sure why they would other than political leanings of ownership, but it is their company. I suspect it will backfire, but we shall see.
Even if I object to something, I don’t have the time or energy for burnings. Just don’t buy it. Nike doesn’t care if you burn their merchandise AFTER you gave them your money.
One athlete already started a campaign to ask people to donate their Nike apparel to certain worthy causes rather than outright burn the stuff.
