Yes, the segment that pays ALL that money for the Nike products. Those of us that will not pay for their products are the sane ones.
Pretty good, actually. Exceptionally good in some areas.I don’t really follow football, so I don’t know how good or not good he was.
Converse All-Stars. They were fine when I was in high school, they’re fine for me now, forty years later.I tried Brooks because my wife recommended them. I like them for doing everyday things. But for anything more than that I like Asics, except like a lot of things these days they don’t hold up as long as I’d like.
The difference between courage and stupidity is measured by success and survival. He was a good player. Not great, but good. He had no assurance when he did this action would be accepted by Nike. It is nice to his his courage rewarded,
The year he “took a knee” in protest, there were only three NFL players that did it. The next year there were over 200. Awareness of the issue he protested has increased. Suceess, check.LeafByNiggle:![]()

He’s not a wise man
I like these too, but I understand Nike owns Converse now.Converse All-Stars. They were fine when I was in high school, they’re fine for me now, forty years later.
Not really you know how many youths play foolsball lots so no big deal.Blockquote Kaepernick didn’t sacrifice everything , it’s true, but, whether or not you agree with his position, you’ve gotta agree that an NFL career is no small thing to risk.
Ah, so he lost his job in order to get 200 people to join a racist protest. Being successful at that means being a failure as with any successes in a bad endeavor. The year he “took a knee” in protest, there were only three NFL players that did it. The next year there were over 200. Awareness of the issue he protested has increased. Suceess, check.
That’s what I do but I also feel that people do have the right of protest as both honoring the flag and protesting by taking a knee are symbolic actions, and protest is as American as apple pie.Not during the National Anthem when all are to stand and show respect.
As is Democrats exploiting slave labor…protest is as American as apple pie.
…While the young women who make its products in Vietnam are intimidated, belittled, and underpaid.
Hard to argue that Kap is making much of a sacrifice compared to the young women who will be making the shoes that will have his name slapped on. It seems that “social justice” now means buying $200 sneakers made by slave labor to line the pockets of a millionaire former athlete.
Both of these complaints are of sort that criticize CK’s mission to correct one problem by pointing to some other problem. This is not a valid complaint. If the mission is good, it is good. If not, then it is not. Protesting mistreatment of minorities in the US does not prevent anyone from also protesting slave labor in other countries or labor inequities in other countries. This is a well-worn tactic and it should be retired. If you have a complaint about CK’s specific protest, address that protest on its own merits without deflecting to the many other problems this world faces. As is Democrats exploiting slave labor…
