As a journalist, I was sent to cover one of photographer Spencer Tunick,s famous nude photo sessions outside The Ritz in London. Five hundred people assembled in the early hours and were given precise obstructions as to where and how they were to pose, and then at first light, with police permission to close the road for fifteen minutes, everyone dropped their clothes and ran naked into the street.
It was one of the the funniest and most innocent sights I have ever seen, as people of both sexes, and all ages, weights and colours, took part in this gloriously silly event. I agree there is “a time and a place” for nudity, I don’t believe any of the many onlookers were offended by it, and if aroused it said more about them, than the participants.
Nor am I bothered by women who choose to sunbathe topless…
This is just a fad, and is easily ignored.
