I’ve always have thought it was becuase of Grace that I have Faith. No Grace from God means No Faith.

So I don’t understand how it can be faith alone.
I just answered this but I’ll answer again. By God’s grace He provided a door for us. Only through faith in Jesus can we enter.

The rosary is not in the bible.
Read Luke. The Real presence is also in the Bible. On the other hand OSAS , Sola Fiedelis and Sola scriptura are nowhere to be found.

Of course as Catholics we are not limited by various contradicting intertpertations of Scripture, We have 2,000 years of teachings and traditions, all guided by the Holy Spirit, to fall back on.

**When in fear, trembling and unworthiness we are yet permitted to receive the divine, undefiled Mysteries of Christ, our King and Lord, we should then display even greater watchfulness, strictness and guard over our hearts, so that the divine fire, the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, may consume our sins and stains, great and small. For when that fire enters into us, it at once drives the evil spirits from our heart and remits the sins we have previously committed, leaving the intellect free from the turbulence of wicked thoughts. And if after this, standing at the entrance to our heart, we keep strict watch over the intellect, when we are again permitted to receive those Mysteries the divine body will illumine our intellect still more and make it shine like a star. **

The Bible says… be reproofed by it or die. That’s authority enough.

Hbr 4:12
For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

2Ti 3:16
All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Pro 15:32
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

Pro 15:10
Correction [is] grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: [and] he that hateth reproof shall die.

Just what exactly do the above verses prove? And by what authority do you presume to interpret scripture for the rest of us?

It proves that the Word of God is the authority. If anyone hates reproof by the Word of God, he shall die. That’s a very easy concept to understand.

Maybe you should read Luke.

Luk 4:4
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

You’ve quoted these verses so often that it begs the question: whose Biblical reproof should we accept? Yours, or the myriad of non-Catholic interpretations that disagree with yours? What is it that makes you think your own private interpretations are that much more reliable than all of the other non-Catholic interpretations on offer?

In your opinion. But none of our bound by your personal interpertation of Scripture or the, myriad of other , often conflicting, personal interpertations of Scriptue. The Church Founded by Jesus Christ gives us all the guidance we need.

So I ask you again-under what authority do you presume to interpert Scripture for the rest of us?

I have an idea. Why don’t you read the verses below and tell me what it says.

I see… are you honestly predicting that ‘estesbob’ is going to die (spiritually or oterhwise) because he won’t accept your non-authoritative interpretations and reproofs? My goodness, that takes some SERIOUS arrogance!

I’ve read 'em tons, because you’ve posted 'em tons. How 'bout you explain why we should be accepting your reproof, and not the reproof of all the non-Catholic scriptural interpreters who quite plainly disagree with you? In other words, by what authority do you deem to reprove any of us, considering that your reproofs are peculiar to you and a number of people who agree with you, and are different than any number of non-Catholics with whom you disagree.

This isn’t a very difficult question.

I have no problem with being reproofed by the Word of God. I learn something new every day from the Word. I find my understanding of the Word increasing in many ways. However, I know of one such organization that has a very serious problem with being reproofed.

Sure, but you’re still not answering the primary question: why should we accept reproof in accordance with your own private interpretation, when there are so many other private interpretations that differ from yours? In other words, by what authority have you determined that you’re correct and everyone, Catholic or otherwise, who disagrees with you, isn’t?

Furthermore, you ought to consider going on record with which organization you think is afraid of the reproof of the scriptures. 🤷

Let’s get back to why I posted these verses in the first place. The Bible is the authority and Bible says so. I pulled theses verses to show you. It seems you have a problem with it. As long as I see some saying the their church is the authority, I will continue posting these verses.

Private interpretation? How is it private? Am I sitting on a high chair somewhere dictating what billions are to believe? When I go to church, most if not the entire congregation brings their bibles so they can be sure the pastor is quoting scripture accurately. Also, we don’t pull out a verse here and there and build doctrine on it like some religious institutions.

What makes the rosary “holy”? And why is Jesus in a box?
This is derailing the topic but here is an answer.

The Rosary contains the Five Mysteries, Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries, which are all centered on Jesus Christ ministry.

Five Joyful Mysteries (said on Mondays, Sundays from the first Sunday of Advent until Lent)
  1. The Annunication to Mary (Gabriel visit announcing the Coming of Jesus Christ).
  2. Visitation of Mary: Her visit to her cousin Elizabeth
  3. The Nativity of Our Lord.
  4. The Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple.
  5. The Finding of Our Lord in the Temple.
Five Luminous Mysteries (Said on Thurs)
  1. The Baptism of Christ in the Jordan
  2. The Wedding Feast at Cana
  3. THe Announcement of the Kingdom
  4. The Transfiguration of the Lord.
  5. The institution of the Eucharist (Last Supper).
Sorrowful Mysteries (said on Tues, Fri, and Sundays of Lent)
  1. The Agony of the Garden.
  2. THe Scourging at the Pillar
  3. The Crowning with Thorns
  4. The Carrying of the Cross
  5. The Crucifixion and Death of the Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Glorious Mysteries (said on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from Easter til Lent).
  1. The Resurrection
  2. The Ascension of Our Lord.
  3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles.
  4. The Assumption of Mary (also cited in revelation 12:1; it mention a woman APPEARED in heaven)
  5. The Coronation of Our Lady as Queen of heaven and earth (base out of Revelation 12:1).
There are five decades in the rosary, and you mention the mysteries, followed by Our Father, and on the small beads ten hail marys, followed by One Glory Be, and the Fatima prayer which goes like, O, My Jesus forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls into heaven, especially those who need most of your mercy.

Oh one more thing, you begin the rosary by reciting the Apostles Creed. It is a holy because it is use as a meditative prayer, we mediate on the mysteries of the life of Jesus Christ…
