Can you please remind me which March For Life speakers spoke about affordable and accessible delivery or maternity leave or even adoption? Now that gays are permitted to adopt, nobody wants to talk about abortion anymore.
How is it untruthful to say “pro-life” really needs to start meaning more than abortion when that’s the only thing people think about when they hear the phrase? It’s quickly becoming cliche. Particularly when our supposed “pro-life” defender who bragged about groping women and lusting after underage girls? If you want to cry foul, look at who you wanted to represent the babies, not the people who want to represent babies AND mothers.
How is it off-base to accurately say “pro-life” really does only mean anti-abortion when the concerns of those unborn babies’ mommies are never really addressed?
Will the 2018 March For Life be anything other than an another anti-abortion picket?
Let’s not bash the March for Life for its consistency. It’s website describes its history:
The “March for Life in Washington, D.C., began as a small demonstration and rapidly grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world. The peaceful demonstration that has followed on this somber anniversary every year since 1973 is a witness to the truth concerning the greatest human rights violation of our time, legalized abortion on demand.”
Complaining that it doesn’t do something else seems a bit disingenuous.
Following, it also seems a bit off to argue that, post gay adoption, no one is speaking against abortion on a thread in which most posters are speaking against abortion.
The fact that many people lack education concerning the myriad of activities promoting life from conception to natural death speaks to a need to better educate- a tremendous challenge in a time in which many in the mainstream media are producing stories which favor abortion and avoid providing airtime which favorably reflects the efforts on behalf of life in its continuum of stages by the pro-life community. (I spend a great deal of time listening to NPR and ABC in my drawn out commuting life-the dearth of positive coverage is stark).
As someone who works on mommies and babies issues and who is networked into other groups who also work on these issues, I see pro-life groups fighting on multiple fronts to support families. Reflecting subsidiarity, there are numerous grass roots endeavors designed to provide counseling and material support through and beyond pregnancy. At a macro scale, lobbying efforts continue.
Let us hope that the 2018 March for Life will continue to bring those opposed to the civil rights travesty (and tragedy) of abortion together, where they may further network, further educate, and provide a visible sign in opposition to the taking of human life.
We know that, over time, increasing numbers of women and men are coming to understand the evil of abortion and that increasingly, larger numbers are registering opposition to abortion at different stages of fetal development, as evidenced in nationwide polls.
May God bless all who visited this thread and the parents who chose not to abort them.
Amen.
