Non-Catholics on these boards...

Bud Stewart:
Ric is surely welcome here. I think he shows class to raise questions in on a forum that is visited by both trained Catholic Apologists as well as those not so educated in the faith. He knows he can ‘pick off the weak of the flock’ here. The senior members would obviously see this attempt and council the wavering. So far I haven’t seen any evidence that non-Catholics are lurking here at the CA Forums to cause harm to anyone. I am also very confident that we can defend ourselves if necessary. The TRUTH is always the best defense and Catholicism is the TRUTH.

May God Bless you Ric
Thanks for the welcome Bud!

Let me assure you that I can by no means ‘pick off the weak of the flock’ here, that is not my job - that’s God’s job. My job is only to share God’s truths with all (Roman Catholic or not). I am a Christian apologist, still learning. And all I want to share is the TRUTH (God’s truth and not mine) and I use the Bible through the Holy Spirit. If I learn something from these forums of Karl’s, I would welcome it if it is Biblical! (And I have learned a few things from Roman Catholics that are truly Biblical, what a blessing!)

Heathen Dawn:
Hello Catholics! I’m a Wiccan. I’m a polytheist, I believe in many Gods and Goddesses, as well as one Creator-God behind Them all, and I worship one God and one Goddess, the Horned God and the Triple Goddess.

I’m not here to proselytise (Wiccans don’t do that). But any misconceptions I see here regarding Wicca will be forthrightly corrected. 😉
Bud,

Here is an example of someone I would love to “pick off” as you say, but once again it’s not my job, it’s God’s job. 🙂

Technically am not Catholic yet, on my way home, but I Catholic in my heart. I know my mom wishes I wasn’t and keeps hoping there is a chance that I will change my mind. Please pray for her. Last night I dreamed she came home too. I can’t wait to receive the sacraments. :dancing: I told my priest to book out a whole day for my first confession, I have 26 years to confess. LOL

Shari"

Praise God and welcome home!!!

Nice to see you Ric. How ya been?

Hello to all as well.

Amethyst and Mary Elizabeth,

You’ve both used terms like “surrender” and “submission.” These two words burned within me as I went through the second conversion from cradle catholic to being totally in love with Jesus Christ and His church. I had finally raised the white flag and surrendered to the Holy Spirit. God had His plan for overcoming my pride and I can only say, "How sweet it is. 👍 👍 👍

The true “Universal Church” is made up of every believer in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation and obey Him as their Lord!..
We can all agree with last part of this quote in that we must all depend on Jesus Christ for our salvation and that we must obey Him as our Lord. The problem is that you cannot obey the Lord if you don’t know the truth of all that Jesus tells us.

You have a choice to make. You either believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Ric or you believe in the Gospel according to His church that is the “pillar and bulwark of the truth.”

Since you insist on calling yourself catholic, I would warmly suggest, Ric, that you cease delaying the inevitable and come home to the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church. You can then in truth proudly proclaim that you are indeed catholic. We would love to have you as full member of Jesus Christ’s original flock that brings to the world the fullness of truth.

Actually I would urge you not to follow the “Gospel of Ric!” But only follow the Gospel from the Bible that God gave us!

If any “church” claims one needs something for salvation (e.g. water baptism), then that “church” is adding to God’s Gospel and therefore is wrong.

Amen to that. If Jesus’s blood was sufficient for the thief on the cross…it’s sufficient for me.

Ric,

I’m curious about your comment. I won’t go into detailed scripture references…you sound obviously well versed, but…if you believe in the bible and follow the Gospel, then how do you explain the many passages about salvation (e.g., water baptism)?

Well a good example is that every single water baptism after Jesus’ resurrection in the Scriptures shows salvation happened 100% of the time before someone had been baptized by water. 👍

Interesting point but how do I know your interpretation of baptism is the truth? There are many very good points to all the different interpretations.

Search the Scriptures, search the Scriptures…

You will find out for yourself that water baptism always happened after salvation. 🙂

Are there believers like that in the Roman Catholic church? Yes!
Are there believers like that in the Southern Baptist church? Yes!
Are there believers like that in the Methodist church? Yes!
Are there believers like that in the Lutheran church? Yes!
etc…

But the Roman Catholic church can not lay claim on being “the” Universal Church!
Ric

Can you start a thread on this please?

I would like to understand how you can make that claim when history can not.

God Bless and thanks

Scott
