He modified it; he didn’t roll it back. The ACLU/LGBT folks are hoppin’ mad.

I expect him to hold on it. I predict, after a few states hold on these laws, things quiet down and the “civil rights” goalposts land back in the center.

Don’t be surprised if this helps the GOP in November either.

I think this is a great thing. What reason, other than bigotry, could a person object to an adult, biological male sharing a public restroom with a pre-teen girl? This is a great advance for civil rights. Good on Paypal, the NBA, etc. for taking this bold stand against bigotry.

It’s why I am not a Democrat anymore. What lunacy. Can you believe it? It makes Trump look like a cross between Plato and Gandhi.

The first opinion poll on North Carolina’s new LGBT law was released Monday and found that the majority of voters across the state support House Bill 2’s bathroom provisions.

If I understand it correctly he unilaterally created new protected classes, sexual proclivities and ‘gender identity’ for state workers which is at odds with the bill. I don’t know what power he has to do this.

Most importantly he plays right into the hands of the people pushing the destruction of the last remains of decency in our society. He basically says he and the legislature acted rashley. Any attempt to appease the people against the NC law will fail. It actually just chums the water. The governor is not very smart. He had to expect the reaction the law has received from leftists and corporations. He doesn’t satisfy the left and betrays the right and center. He only weakened his position. Trump for all his flaws has shown how to handle things like this and the answer is to have a spine.

A massive furniture expo that brings billions of dollars to North Carolina’s economy each year said Monday that the state’s new bathroom law is threatening its business.

The statute, which was enacted last Wednesday, requires transgendered individuals to use the bathroom that coordinates with their anatomical gender at birth, rather than the gender they identify with.

Now the organizers of North Carolina’s bi-annual High Point furniture market are telling lawmakers that “hundreds and perhaps thousands” of customers are choosing not to attend the trade show in April because of the law.

“As leaders and organizers of the High Point Market, we feel an obligation to inform the public and our government leaders in Raleigh of the significant economic damage that [the law] HB2 is having on the High Point Market and on the North Carolina economy,” the statement said.

The governor’s order expands protections against discrimination for state employees to include sexual orientation and gender identity. McCrory also asked lawmakers to restore the right to sue in state court for discrimination, an option taken away by the measure passed last month.

Remember the Religious Freedom Restoration Act enacted in Indiana last year? The RFRA, as it’s called, ended up costing the city of Indianapolis a pretty penny.

I’ve heard and would not be surprised that the furniture market draws a larger percentage of homosexuals then other markets. So it may feel disproportionate pressure. But they’ve been trying to move it to a place known not ironically as Sin City for a while. These folks think we are boring hicks no matter how we appease them.

So Indiana lost money despite immediately backtracking? That wouldn’t speak well for the graciousness of those who oppose religious freedom. Personally I don’t mind ‘losing’ money like that. A lot of corporate endeavors are really financed on the back of taxpayers directly or indirectly. Home grown business is real economic growth.

While North Carolina wrestles with the fallout from its common-sense bathroom law, Hot Air’s Jazz Shaw highlighted two of the most predictable news stories of the year. First, here’s a lovely tale from Seattle:

**A man claimed a right to use a women’s locker room at a public swimming pool after his partial undressing there caused alarm. According to Seattle Parks and Recreation, women alerted staff at Evans Pool staff when a man wearing swim trunks entered the women’s locker room and took off his shirt. When staff told him to leave, the man reportedly said “the law has changed and I have a right to be here.” **

Though he was relying on a new Washington state rule that allows people to choose bathrooms based on “gender identity,” no one asked him if he identified as female. Indeed, how can you possibly ask such a question without enraging the social justice warriors? It’s the new bathroom honor code.

But it turns out that “honor” is a value alien to creeps and perverts. Just ask the University of Toronto: The University is temporarily changing its policy on gender-neutral bathrooms after two separate incidents of “voyeurism” were reported on campus September 15 and 19. Male students within the University’s Whitney Hall student residence were caught holding their cellphones over female students’ shower stalls and filming them as they showered. Melinda Scott, dean of students at the University of Toronto, told The Daily Wire that campus police had been contacted immediately and worked with residence staff to “support impacted students and ensure the safety of the Residences.”

Transgender and unisex bathroom regulations empower terrible people. Sexual predators are diabolical, and the worst thing the law can do is to make access to women and girls in their most vulnerable and private moments easy for predators. It’s insane. Bathroom controversies demonstrate the evolving priorities of the radical left. Protecting women from harassment is yesterday’s fight. Today it’s time to smash gender and eradicate sex differences. After all, only a bigot would be offended by the sight of another woman’s penis.

(In my incident I was just completely checked out in my birthday suit by a male with makeup (2 feet away) - I don’t think it was sexual, just comparison shopping; wasn’t first complaint the gym has received about him. So gals, look your best when you hit the gym locker room - maybe bring some mace too, just in case he’s straight and overly forward.)
