An AR15 is by definition NOT an assault rifle.

An AR15 shoots a varmit round - good for coyote sized animals and smaller. An AR10 (in .243 or 308) is an excellent hunting rifle.

They are expensive - that’s why I only own two - a .243 and a .308. I bought the .243 when they are only around $680 (special back in 2001 or so) the problem is .243 rounds are so expensive compared to .308 rounds. To save money I spent $900 for the .308 three years ago. Sounds like government logic…

As you will see the “or” in the sentence you own an AR-15 OR an assault rifle.

Thankfully WE don’t live in the Middle East and our laws have no bearing on theirs. If you feel that other weapons are more suited for protection then get rid of AR-15’s and assault weapons if they are inferior.

If people would have responded with gun battle and skirmishes those Christian MARTYRS wouldn’t have had such a profound affect on other Christians. By giving their lives they inspired those to continue their faith and love through the toughest persecution. Instead of being labeled an armed resistance or militia.

If you want to change things PRAY. Prayer is more powerful than a .50 Cal.

One is Armalite (.243) and the other is a DPMS (.308). I don’t believe the AR10 is nearly as standardized as the AR15. I have never tried to swap the uppers between the two 🤷 (they might - the mags do interchange though). I take my sons hunting all the time and eventually I’d want to use both at once. They are still a little small to handle a fully loaded and scoped AR10 (about 13 pounds total either rifle).

Martyrs give their lives. Your position forces those who aren’t ready to die to become martyrs. Maybe if there were some gun battles Christians wouldn’t be going extinct in the middle east. You had better thank God for victory at the Battle of Tours.

As for getting rid of AR-15’s because I find them inferior, I like the idea of AR-15s being legal because while they still are, you’ll be too busy trying to ban them to be worried about a bolt action .30-06 with a 4 power scope. But once you ban AR-15s, then the bolt action deer rifle become a dangerous sniper weapon, and next on the list to be banned.

Agreed. Lest we forget that it was a cheap bolt action that killed Kennedy.

Cool…I’ve never been hunting, to be honest. 🙂 No one really hunts in the area we live in anyway…too densely populated. Most people travel out to the western part of the state or up the New Hampshire or Maine.

Weapons are just a hobby of mine.

As I posted earlier, the Connecticut State Police Lt. said plainly that Lanza’s primary weapon was a Bushmaster AR-15. World News Daily got this one wrong, which is no big surprise given their track record.

Thank you for your service. I am curious, when you say you’ve seen the destructive power of these weapons, are you really talking about the 5.56mm round? or are you talking heavier weapons that we’re not debating, like crew served weapons.

Im also not sure that it is legal to incite people to break the law even over the internet. Are you an government plant? Asking me to “Step up” and “do something” with weapons?

There are two things next to my bed at night- a bible and a gun. When there is a bad guy kicking in my door at night, I am going to grab the gun first and when it is all over, I will grab that bible and thank God for the common sense He gave me. And when I am done there, I am going to reload…
 
One do you think it’s appropriate to discuss the physical damage done by weapons in graphic detail in this forum? Secondly yes the question could have been rephrased better. So here. If you believe the use of guns in the Middle East would prevent the extinction of Christians, do you believe guns should be used to protect the killing of unborn babies here in the United States? Please don’t dodge this question again.

Most people I know in the armed forces are very disappointed with the destruction the 5.56 round causes.
